We thought we did our home work on Plymouth Relocation Services but they take being scammed to a different level. Starting with the low quotes and every time you speak to them you get someone else. Detailed list of everything we were moving was done 2 weeks before our scheduled move. At that time the price was jacked up for the first time. On the day of our move three guys showed up with a Budget Truck? It took them 12 hours to pack the truck. We weren't moving much furniture but had about 165 boxes that were already packed. When we originally talked to Plymouth we were told we were to have a truck to ourselves and paid extra for that. The movers that showed up were just picking up. They were taking our furniture to a warehouse where they would unload and leave it there for the long distance truck. When you count the items for your list to get the final moving cost you count a table as 1 item (for example). When these guys started to pack the truck they took apart items and the table became 5 items. The top the legs and the base. This jacked up the price again. At one point they said they would have to come back the the next day to finish. We told them that was unacceptable so we feel they just added in there overtime to our final cost. The long distance carrier turned out to be very good but we didn't have a van to our selves as the promised. The price went up once again almost another thousand dollars. Stay away... Typical bait and switch operation....
Plymouth Relocation Services is overpriced and did not provide the service I paid for and trusted them to perform. Their sales team was extremely aggressive, they made false promises to match prices with other companies and the moving company they set me up with was completely unprofessional. The company they "Assured was triple A-Rated and legitimate" took 6 weeks to deliver my goods thus violating regulations to deliver within 25 business days. When I called the moving company Plymouth arrnaged for me, they threatened to hold my goods hostage and continue to charge me for storage. When the mover finally did arrive, they couldn't deliver my goods to my house because their truck was so massive. I had to rent a UHaul and have friends come help me unload the UHaul at my house. My driveway could fit any normal sized truck - but not an 18-wheeler. The 18-wheeler couldn't even fit in the neighborhood park parking lot next door. Plymouth also lied to me to get me to put down a down payment. I wanted to move as quickly as possible and the date they gave was 10 days away. They said they would match prices with competing offers and it was a safe bet to go with them. The very next day I sent 2 offers lower than what they quoted, but they refused to match the price. They then said they couldn't match the price because the move was less than 2 weeks away. So they were never intending to match any prices I gave them since they booked the move 10 days in advance!!! This company is manipulative. Stay away.
