This company calls my dad during early morning late night during the day etc. He is 90 years old and recently had two strokes. I have had his pwer of Attorny and paid his bills for the last 12 years. I finally got tired of the phone calls so I answered and they stated the usual questioning. They said they were trying to collect an overdue debt and tht he needed to pay it today. A red flag went up. I told them to mail me something to that effect and they asked for my address. I told them they had it and hung up. Who can I report them to so that someone will investigate their underhamded and possibly illegal activities.

It says that they are a collection agency that has been trying to get into contact with me for a traffic violation in Florida from 2007.Letter looks legit but there were a few clues to this being a scam.

First, the name on the letter was wrong. Had a guys name on it with my last name spelled wrong. Secondly it was from 2007 and neither I nor my family were even in Florida during that time (we live in the Midwest.) And then when my mom called the number listed the man on the line said not to worry about it because the letter was forwarded to the wrong address. That doesn't even make any sense. My mom then preceded to question things and he gave up too quickly just saying it was a mistake. So to anyone who receives a letter from this company in the mail, please beware.

PennCredit Corp. sent a scam collections letter to my wife demanding payment of $127 for a parking ticket froim Long Beach CA in 04/06/2017 with no citation number or car description.

Firstly, she does not drive or own a vehicle. They gave her 30 days to offer proof of nonownership. How about providing a citation number, VIN number, vehicle description and registration, time of day of the infractiion and street address of the infraction?

I am not 100% sure how these people operate but I think if they find a similar name they automatically attach bills to that name. Penn Credit began contacting my mom and threatening repercussions if I did not pay a bill. I contacted Penn Credit and informed them that I had relocated almost 15 years ago to Texas. Not sure how they obtained my mom's address and contact information I haven't lived with her for over 20 years. Penn Credit stated that I did not pay a bill to the Louisiana Department of Motor Vehicles and my name had been turned in to the Debt Recovery Office. More threats, etc. I contacted the Louisiana OMV and Debt Recovery explained to them that I did not owe this bill and I was not sure how they obtained my name and contact information. The Louisiana Debt Recovery office simply cleared the file and stated that I owed them nothing. Please do not respond to Penn Credit's "strong arm" tactics. Ask them to send you a copy of the bill and you contact the 'creditor' yourself. I would not pay anything to Penn Credit.
