Oxidean Marine Reviews

  • Jan 22, 2022

Oxidean marine is a complete scam. I purchased a Rc boat from bill oxidean after he made statements about them being high quality domestic built boats. That was complete opposite, as the packages came factory sealed from him that were imported from another country, I believe the Asia's. The last time he has imported (public information) is listed on customs documents as 2019 Wich anyone can freely search.

I submitted a problem with a boat that was intermittent function and did not function in my possession. The connectors supplied were also of such bad quality they peeled apart due to bad plastic forming originally. When I returned the product I got a email saying they would replace the bad electronic speed controller. But then I get another email back saying they were going to send it as is with the same intermittent function issue I encountered.

I refused and filed a PayPal claim. Bill oxidean lied to PayPal telling them he's working this with his warranty program and so PayPal canceled the claim. PayPal has a "out" for vendors if they lie about the warranty since PayPal cannot insure a warranty or personal service. Bill oxidean does not supply good parts or else I wouldn't have encountered this. The parts in the boats are basically the cheapest things they could find over seas with crappy laser labels burned into everything.

I spent days fighting with them and they did nothing but blame the customer even though I have other products I got from him without issues that I now am worried about failing mid use. First emails claimed that because I went ahead and tested the product my warranty is automatically voided. Which is weird since you need to test to be able to use. Next alarming emails were the plain ol denial of part quality. When they sent me connectors on my ESC that were easily folded over with the use of precision tweezer pliers(standard tools used for connecting ESC) that somehow that part quality was my fault.

It was not since the other connectors didn't encounter this issue. I also used four Rx units and different brand new batteries as well as migrated another working Rx set from a crawler with no avail. I used volt meter and when battery connected the ESC would turn on but not send any binary blips or +/- signal source at the ESC connector. Since the claim bill oxidean has kept my boat without repairing it(probably too cheap to warranty his product or doesn't have spare parts because it's a very old import) and I never got my money back.

He has since lied to me and to PayPal about his services and PayPal themselves has a obscure "out" to no be liable for Thier customers scams. They do not insure warranty. So if a warranty comes with your product and the seller lies to them about handling the warranty they cannot confirm or verify it so they cancel the claim. Even PayPal told me to this was unfortunate and not the first time a customer has been scammed this way.

Being polite I sent the product back for a warranty, and because PayPal didn't send me a shipping tag they cannot validate that the seller has my stuff. So the seller knew If he could weasel the order back his direction before a claim was started then he would not be forced by PayPal to do a refund. Since then I have yet to get back my refund for the product he is indefinitely keeping. The quality is not very good, he is a pathological liar and will tell you on the phone anything you Wana hear.

The components and the hull itself we're put together so cheap you can see light between the layers meaning some spots are thinner than your hair, leading to small stress issues in carbon fiber from normal issues that will require future repairs. Some parts of the molding aren't plumb when glued together so you can clearly see crappy gluing practices. The electronics after doing my research are also crappy. The seller lies and makes false claims like he has professional people assembling and testing everything here in the USA.

Not possible or they would have seen the faulty esc connector and most likely experienced the bad ESC intermittent function issue. When talking to him he compared himself to the owner of Traxxas and how he was too busy to deal with customer support but made claims like his warranty department would handle it. After doing research on customs entry fillings it became clear nothing he said was honest or true.

His inventory is old and stale and he probably has issues moving onto next shipment because the product quality is so poor. His racing reputation is good, but his business person reputation is horrific, after talking to some people in Bay area and coming across a couple other reviews they seemed entirely inline with this experience i had.

This is buyer beware company. You might get something acceptable with a high markup including horrifically cheap internals, or you might get something with nonstop problems. These devices encounter water onna daily basis when used, so anything other than 100% perfect function unpon arrival to the customer should be bounced back to the vendors for a swap out indefinitely. Bill encountered intermittent function(typically seen with cold welded soldered or poorly supplied electronics) and made outrageous claims like it was 100% functional. Which was not the case.

He also refused to address the situation where the ESC connector was so crappy molded that it fell apart with gentle use and didn't even fit into the ESC upon arrival(but was not the case with the other connectors here). If you know anything about ESC connections is that they are very basic, and fitment is standard meaning there should never be force required to connect them.
