A lovely lady phoned my school offering discounted school supplies. She promised to email a quote of the items and prices we discussed. I would ahve to approve this quote before the order was official.
The quote never came. What did arrive were boxes and boxes of unauthorized items- paper clips, post-it notes, dry ersase marker. There was no invoice.
Weeks later I received a nasty call saying I owe $5, 082.36 and it was due in full ASAP. This is an absurd amount and the merchandise is worth significantly less. This crazy figure certainly did not match our phone conversation.
The lady then faxed me the invoice and I am currently contacting a lawyer. I called the number and no one answered or returned my calls.
I do not want this merchandise. I refuse to pay this ridiculous bill. This scam must end. What can we do?
