Visited Cozumel in 2012. We were given a large amount of alcohol. Safe to say we were drunk for 2 days straight. We signed up for a vacation club and have paid more than 4000.00 for something we have t ever used. Paid over 2,000.00 the day we signed up and don't really remember it.... We were embarrassed that we were scammed. We stopped paying, which has affected out credit. The vacation club fee was 16,000.00 and now shows 26,000.00 due on my husband's credit. If any one want to sue, we will join in a class action!!!!!

We were scammed into a deal with the Occidental Allegro Playacar by a Canadian on top of that. A Canadian that comes from our own province (Wanda Markin)scammed us in purchasing a vacation club from occidental vacation club. Look her up, she went bankrupt in Calgary after owning a furniture store. We purchased it on January 9, 2017 and after having buyer's remorse, we went back to the sells office the next morning and said we were backing out of the deal. Edson Acoltin (one of the managers) ([email protected]) tried everything to try and keep us as clients. When he finally realized that he wasn't getting anywhere, he walked out of the room with a disgusted look on his face. He used tactics that were horrible to try and keep us in. We asked what we needed to do in order to get our money back and he explained that all we needed to do was send an email to Alberto Garcia ([email protected]) and the process would be started. once it was acknowledged, the vacation club would have 15 business days to refund our money. Alberto acknowledged our email that same day.

After waiting the 15 days, we still had not received our money back from Greta Sanchez ([email protected]). I contacted the vacation club directly in Dominican Republic and was told that I had to deal with the Allegro directly but that they should refund me. I finally got an email back from Greta Sanchez stating that they had acknowledged our cancellation and that we would be refunded all of our money except for $250US Allegro money that they supposedly gave to us. We returned this money along with our contract but they keep saying that we kept it. What would we do with Allegro money in Canada?

I have signed document from them saying they will refund us but we have yet to see the money. Every time I call, they are always in meetings.

I have had many email conversations with Greta Sanchez in regards to the refund, she says she will look into it and get back to me.

In July of 2012, my husband and I traveled to Cozumel, Mexico. Upon exiting the airport there a person stopped us and explained how we could get cheaper rate tickets to various attractions while we vacationed in Cozumel. During the purchase of the tickets, one requirement was to tour a resort the next day.

The following day we met the sales person at a restaurant who introduced us to another salesman that would finish our tour. Upon arrival at the Occidental Allegro office, a salesman gave us a tour of their resort. It was beautiful and very elaborate. He then took us back to the office and show us a catalog of many vacations sites like the one he showed us. At that time he gave us a price for the vacation club package that he had just shown us. Believing we were going to receive what he showed us we purchased the package. The next year we made our reservation with excitement for a glamorous vacation in Playa del Carma. Upon arrival, we were very disappointed that our room was nothing in comparison to what we had been shown.

The following day we went to Occidental Allegro's office and reported our compliant. We were told they could do nothing about it. Later we contacted the owner, who promised us the next vacation would be what we had been shown. Needless to say, it wasn't. We complained again. We were told we had to stay with the purchased plan, but our reply was we were not getting the purchased plan. At that point, we stopped paying the monthly fees. We were contacted and told the fees would be reduced which they were. At the end of the year, we noticed on our report the difference between the reduction and the original fees were tacked to our balance. We called the company but nothing was worked out. We told them they could have our package along with the upfront fee and all monthly fees, and they could re-sell; therefore profiting them. A few month later we received a letter from a collection agent.

The collection agent said if I paid $9,000.00 Occidental Allegro would drop the collections and the case would be closed. So I borrowed the money and called the lady from Monterey Collections. She said I would have to pay more. By this time I had to retire to assist with care for my elderly mother and could not afford any more money. It went to collections. Now my husband is disabled and we surely cannot pay for this scam.

I would appreciate any advise as to how this company can be reported as a Scam and this debt be removed from my credit score.

When I bought this timeshare I was promised many things that are not available. The price to pay the maintenance fee has gone through the roof and it is cheaper to book the vacation on the web through a travel site. I am looking for other people to join me to file a class action law suit. I have asked if they have a buy back policy but of course they don't as they make millions on maintenance fees from people that can not ever use the timeshare! If you would like to join in send your info to Occidental Scam 529 Rt. 303 Orangeburg, NY 10962. This is a crime and should be stopped!

I bought a membership with Occidental Vacation Club, the next day I asked for the cancellation but they refused because I was told that i had renounced to the clause which says that I have those 5 days, so from there I found it all very strange and I started researching and found thousands of complaints and bad reviews about occidental Vacation club, and greater was my need to cancel my membership! I researched PROFECO and saw that this practice was illegal,so I did not want to risk me to lose all my money ,then i fast contacted a company dedicated to cancel timeshare memberships, called Mexican timeshare solutions , I told them my situation and they told me that like me exist many other people in the same situation or worst.. it is a whole mafia !! thank God MTS could cancel my contract and get my money back. Never trust what they say those liars , if I had believed them and I had not moved surely i would continue giving them my money for 30 years, what a waste ! timeshare cancellation is possible, dont believe that not, be careful and stay sharp.

I signed up two years ago for the Occidental Vacation Club thinking it was a good idea. They fooled me into paying over 2,000 dollars as a down payment and then pay the rest which was 10,000 dollars. I took a loan and paid off but then when I tried to make my first reservation I realized the scam it was. First when you call to ask for rates, they're as high or higher than just going through a regular website like Expedia. Then, the week you want for some reason is not available and the rates are insanely high! So basically I gave then 12,000 dollars as a gift because Ms Greta Sanchez from the member service office claims there's nothing they can do and they won't reimburse me my money! I asked her so basically my money was a present to your company just because I felt like giving my money away?! Do not fall for this scam! I've been calling them and emailing them and keep getting the same answer that they can't help me! Fraud! Dishonest! Scam! Book your trips through a known company online and do not become a member of this scam!

During our stay at the Occidental in Cozumel, we were constantly heckled by staff all over the resort about coming to the Occidental Club for breakfast but if we did to make sure we came back to them and not talk to anybody else. We ignored them the first day. That night our stay was horrible due to the AC not working in our room. The next morning we got up to rent a jeep for the day and used one of the people that stand around trying to get us to the occidental club. He said he had the best deal. We paid for this and realized the jeep we rented was horrible and really not in the best to feel safe to drive. There was a hole in the passenger side where the heat from engine came through. Being upset at the situations the first day. We spoke to management. They sent us to someone that was in charge of occidental club.

They heard our frustration and sat down with us about these packages. They showed us these rooms in a different part of the resort which were what we were expecting prior to coming to this resort and some much better due to them being suites. They offered to move us there for the week if we would come to their breakfast. We accepted and did. My wife and I were impressed that night because we felt they were taking care of us. Next morning, we went to the breakfast as promised. We ended up there for the majority of the day missing our vacation but figured it was worth it considering we vacation a lot. Occidental made several promises about this program and that it was not a timeshare.

They said by signing up in the Royal we would get plush treatment and two bedroom suite with an additional room several times a year for our guest. We could do this within 30-60 days and also had exclusive rights to Holidays and high times with the Holiday package included. These people wined us and dined us. They made several promises about how great it was. We even spoke to some other guest about it to question and they said it was ok just to make sure. They did not say it was excellent or horrible because thy were just getting in the program too. We ended up buying their highest package and paid close to $28,000 to get this treatment as so we thought.

Salvatore at this location was the head sales guy that we kept in ties with and said he would always take care of anything we need especially as we come back to any of the resorts of Mexico. They even gave us a couple free trips to other Occidental resorts and RCI for signing up on the Royal membership, a $75,000 membership. We felt confident that this was a good thing for all the trips we take to Mexico, US, and Europe with the family. Several months later after paying $28,000, we tried to book a trip with our family to go to Xcaret Occidental resort for the Christmas break. My wife tried to book it as we were told 60 days prior to the trip and had already bought our plane tickets. Occidental than told us that they did not have availability.

We were very frustrated to hear this considering what we have paid and what we were promised. My wife immediately got in touch with Salvatore and he tried to work his magic for what they told us they were trying to make happen. He then told us that he could get us rooms but they would not be what we purchased. It also came out that what we were going to spend over and beyond what we spent on this Royal was a lot more expensive than what we were promised as additional expenses. Hell, we have stayed at high end resorts and would never have paid this much money out of pocket on top of this "Royal" membership treatment we had already were paying for. After they could not fulfill their promises, we wanted to cancel this Royal Club Membership because they did not due as promised to us. We have had never used any of this membership nor any of their free trips that were given to us.

We were severely mislead and it came at a high price. They are fighting us on this for getting refunded our $28,000 plus we are paying 1500 a month in this contract. We have been scammed and I would not even step into one of these resorts. I cannot believe that we have found ourselves in this position be cannot believe there is no recourse for these type of things. We were set up!!!!!! Do not get caught in this trap. They will not honor their verbal agreements for there are clauses in their contracts that what they say and do are completely different. They set you up to treat you only to get your money. Once they have it, its all down hill from there. Occidental Vacation Club is a money trap and a complete Hoax job!!! Beware!!!!!

My wife and and I signed up for 90 minute presentation by Occidental Vacation Club at the Cozumel airport. Our lady sales rep was very nice but one of the first things she said to us was there will be a simple yes or simple no to end the presentation. Do not believe it! When we told her that it just was not for us she had her manager come over to give the final insult directly to me. You DO earn the gifts they give in the end but NEVER again will I subject myself and wife to that kind of verbal abuse!! It is high pressure all the way and you have to sign up right then and there...no thinking it over. The prices they offer are ridiculous expensive in the first place and I would not believe what they offer is actually true. It´s buyer beware all the way!!!!!

We took a 60 minute presentation and were misled by a sales rep named Ken Stephanie that they would buy our wyndham timeshare out so we could buy this one at Occidental Vacation Club now under Barcelo Management. We were verbally assured that our time share would be bought for $23,000 which was $4,000 over what we paid to Wyndham. The certificate of ownership would be sent for by Ken and his team and processed. He said they could not take the price off our new share with OVC though. We shook and signed the contract stating all of this and we were told it would take 1-2 months to buy the other time share out and we would get paperwork in the mail. By the 5th month, I contacted ken by cellphone and he told me that they were behind. Something didnt sound right so I called OVC in Aruba and was told that all 4 representatives who we dealt with and who signed our contract were no longer working there. I asked the lady if she could look at our paperwork for the buying of our wyndham time share and she said there were no copies to that effect in my folder and that if I had a copy she could do it. We look and sure enough we have no copy of that paper that we signed that stated they would buy our time share from wyndham. We were devastated and bitter towards this scam artist that represented OVC. OVC prides themself on what a wonderful vacation club they are but yet wouldnt even assist us without that paperwork. We do not know where to go from here and cannot even sell this as a time share because its not, its a destination club. We are locked into $650 maintenance fees for 25 years and $200 a month for 10 years. Thank god its only good for 25 years and not a lifetime but we still own our wyndham timeshare and pay $660 a year for life for maintenance fees. We are stuck with 2 timeshares or vaction clubs and felt that we were misled by OVC representatives to purchase under false pretenses.

seeking a lawyer now but not sure how this international thing works and if the employees do not work there any more how they can rectify the situation for us. We do not even want to vacation there after this, which is ashame.

I was approached to attend a 90 minute presentation about joining Occidental Vacation Club. Everyone was so polite, and nice, while they trying to get me to join their club. I purchased a "membership" while on vacation in Dominca Republic. The company promises large savings on vacation stays and airfare. I reached out by phone and emails way before a month time, and expressed to them I wouldnt be able to be part of there membership. I wanted out before starting my monthy payments. I told them I had just bought a house and joining had been a bad choice on my part, and would not be able to do the monthy payments. I have not used any services yet, and they have a big problem refunding my money. I will also never stay at an Occidental property again.

Mr. Brenton's exact words throught email were:

We have received today your cancellation request.

Unfortunately your cancellation does not apply because you took 1 month to do the request

We cannot accept your cancellation. We strongly advise you to continue with the payments. Any default in payments will result in a bad credit report in your country of residence and will spoil your credit score also.

Attached I sent you the promissory note that you signed with us, we glad that bought a house but this some that will not affect the payments of the house because the monthlies payments are US$ 116.32. You knew that you have this membership with us and that you owe us US$ 1,771.00.

This is not an excuse to cancel the membership.

All the kindness and politeness went out the door when I tried to cancel. Do not join this "membership" they are a scam. They just want to make money off you. I would've understand a fee for early cancellation not this. He must think I am dumb and not educated. This will not be on my credit or give me a bad credit score. People dont join this club. I plan to spread the word in many other ways. Even bringing them on the news. I went online and saw many other complaints. They will not be getting another dime from me, but they will get more bad exposure.
