Nomad Off-Road, LLC. Reviews

In November 2016 I paid John Amador $5200 for a Lift, Wheels and Tires, Rear Bumper, Muffler and a Programmer to calibrate the speed with the oversized tires and labor on my 2016 Jeep Wranger. The Lift, tires and wheels was complete and a fine job at that. Then the real problems began. I live in Bastrop, so as to not come into Austin for no reason, I would wait for John to tell me when to bring it in. Weeks would go by where I would hear nothing so I would go in to see the status of everything. John would make an excuse that the parts for some reason hadn't come in on the truck or he would do something on his computer and tell me they were in the warehouse and would be there that afternoon. I would sit there all day but they would never arrive. Then there would be an excuse that there was a mix up or something like that. Before the old shop on Stassney closed, John told me to bring it in, they put it on the rack, took off the rear bumper and muffler but couldn't find my parts and they had to put all the original stuff back on. I am a trusting person and was giving the benefit of the doubt because John kept assuring me it would get done. But, the waiting game continued. The old ahop closed and the New Shop opened on St. Elmo. I went into the new shop to see it. While there, I asked John why the two guys he had working for him weren't working for him now and he told me they had been stealing parts and that it was probably what happened to mine but, he would get mine done. I started thinking that I was being ripped off so I went to the shop one early moment and saw it was opened and also there was no computer on his desk. I texted him and he told me to meet him at the shop at around 4pm but I stayed and he showed up with a friend around 10am. We talked and he told me he was having problems with the city, something to do with ventilation in the shop. I told John, I needed him to refund my money of which he assured me he would and shook my hand. Then the texts and the excuses for why I hadn't received it. Excuses like "its taking longer than usual", "Its processing slow", "I am trying to find out from my Merchant Account", "They are running a trace but it will take a couple of days", "Sorry i have been out of town my Dad's ill" which could have been true. Because I used my Debit card at the time, of which the bank was called from his office to authorize the amount, John told me to dispute the charge and I told him I can't dispute a partial charge. John told me to dispute the whole charge and we would work out the money after. I knew that sounded like fraud and I wasnt going to do that. I gave John my Bank contact information. John told me my bank is nuts. Then some time later i asked for any word and John said he approved the refund and it is processing. i asked that a check be sent to my home address but he still said he was out of town and it wouldn't be done til the next week. Finally after back and forth for months John told me the refund was processed and it would take 5-7 business days for it to post at my bank and the total of the refund was $2376.48. But then he said he as having them send me a physical check. On June 16 after still receiving nothing, John said he requested the check on the 7th. On June 17th, John told me he had two messages with his rep to see what the hell was going on. I asked when he would know something and He said he would know when they called him back. i asked John if he had a number i could call and He told me he wasn't home when he go back he would send it to me. He didn't. June 19th, i asked if he had gotten home and he said he was on the way home from San Antonio and that was the last day he talked to me.
