My Department Steals Reviews

  • Apr 30, 2018

I buy a lot of parts and supplies from Amazon, so was happy to give them high marks for friendly and fast service in a survey. I used my credit card to pay the shipping fee of $5.99. Later in the day, I received a confirming email saying they would ship my watch within a week. I noticed at the bottom of the email that it mentioned something about a subscription for sunglasses. I immediately contacted their customer service that I had not authorized any subscriptions of any sort and to immediately cancel any and all subscriptions they had assigned to me. The notice had no account numbers and they said they said my order for the watch was not on record.

I learned later this was a guise to delay me from cancelling what I found later to be 2 subscriptions, one for a monthly sunglasses order and another for a monthly watch order. (Who orders a monthly order for sunglasses or watches?!) After several communications with their customer service department during the next 2 weeks trying to convince them to not ship me anything but the free watch, I noticed a charge of $99.85 by "My Department Steals" on my credit card account. I immediately called them again and after about 10 minutes of me screaming at them, agreed to refund the charge.

I then called my bank and had them remove the charge due the fraudulent nature of My Department Steals, I did not trust them to refund my money. Shortly after that communication, I recieved a pair of sunglasses from them and after I realized what they were, returned them. About a week later I recieved another package from them (supposedly a watch) and I refused the delivery.

I got a notice yesterday from the bank that they were going to have to honor their fraudulent charge since I had given them my credit card number. I checked this morning and they had recharged the $99.85 to my account. I immediately called "My Department Steals_ customer service and notified them if they did not immediately send me a check for the money they had stolen, then I will contact the Attorney Generals in all the states where they are doing this fraudulent business. They are in Oregon, Florida and California and maybe more states that I might not be aware of. My Department Steals promised to send a check for the full amount by May 15.

We will see if they do. They have lied to me several times before. If they do not, I will proceed with their consequences.
