My wife signed up for a Reasearch company to try to get a few extra bucks. They said she will make 300 if she did the Reasearch and sent her out a check for 2,290.00. I get suspect about any one sending me five dollars (thanx jury duty) little alone 2 grand.
I look at every thing and the name on the envelope doesn't match the name on the paper inside the envelope. So I look for them online and find the website it looks like it was put together by an 8 year old on his first try at a website. So after these two red flags I go to rip off report and search mystery shopper scam and find something very similar to mine. It said that they were told to deposit the money and then wire the money in five days or u will lose out on your money bonus. Five days after they wired it the bank said the check wasn't real and they were out of 2k.( WESTERN UNION& MONEYGRAM WERE TWO OF MY SPONSOR)
So I decided to call the bank from where the check claimed to be from they took the account number and assured me that account does not exist and to be careful any time you get "FREE MONEY" check and make sure with a ligit source. I'm trying to figure out how to report this scam so no one falls for it if you can help pls let me know
