I hired Miss Whitworth to pet-sit my cat (in her home) while away visiting family across the country. On the third day, I received a text from her stating that she had changed my cat’s diet abruptly and completely contrary to the way she explained she would. When I asked her why she went against what we agreed upon and what she promised, she became extremely volatile. She screamed at me and hung up, then proceeded to send me 22 long text messages, with each successive message becoming increasingly more violent, abusive, incoherent and disturbing. She threatened my animal and claimed I would never see her again. I had to send animal control to her home to retrieve my pet. When animal control arrived at her home, Maria initially lied and articulated that she had given my pet away, but wound up giving in and literally threw my cat at the officer. My pet was impounded and I had to fly back across the country to retrieve her two days later.
This woman is extremely unstable, volatile and abusive. I only *wish I had thought to google her name prior to my interaction with her.
Maria Whitworth made an offer on a property owned by my father and unfortunately received a preoccupancy agreement contingent upon closing the sale.
The day of closing she refused to sign, became abusive to the realtors, title company, homeowners. Everyone involved was threatened with a barrage of crazy lies, insults and complete lunacy. She demanded return of her earnest money but would not vacate the property.
She threatened damages to the home and seemed to believe that she had been misled when, in fact, she was in breach of contract, and became a squatter. I subsequently found that she has done this before. She is volitile. She sent 10 emails in five minutes. Each one more absurd and profane. She contradicts herself in every communication.
She actually told me that I was the product of a botched abortion and my mother didn't love me. Very disturbing. Her behavior at first may seem charming with the British accent. She will turn on a dime and make no sense whatsoever. It's heartbreaking and awful. I have filed charges and police are involved. She sadly has animals that she barely takes care of on the property. Animal control will be involved also.
BEWARE of A lady named Maria whitworth she is a scam artist who moves people in to her home and kicks them out almost immediately so she can keep your small deposit.
Since I've lived here she's kicked 2 people out I've only lived here a month and now she's kicking me out although with her aggressive and unstable behavior I would leave anyway I feel unsafe here now.
She went ballistic on me today over coffee screaming f*** you and I felt unsafe enough to contact the police!
Do not fall for the cheap rent you will move in and then she will try to change the date you pay rent because she does not have her finances in order. I have paid for July and now she is trying to kick me out.
She also does not tell you that she is unwilling to pay for trash service so you are responsible for that. She also is always taking in cats so there are over 5 cats at the house at a time.
I've never had any problems in a shared house situation I lived at my last place for a year and a half. This woman is crazy.
Contacted Maria to care for my cat while out of town. Needed someone about once a month and wanted someone to watch her. First time went ok, no problesms other then she teling me I needed to feed the cat vegan food and water. Took it with a grain of salt. She requested a mininmal fee which I was happy to pay, along with extra as I had forgotten to bring the food.
Next time I bring the cat I paid and all seemed to be ok. Early one morning I get a text saying my cat had destroyed her carpet and flooring. She mentioned she had done it before but never told me?? So she sends me pics demanding to be paid for the damages. I at this point am done with her as I am recieving numorous messages regarding me and my kids and vile language. To make a long story short I had to have the police get involved as I felt for my safety and the threats she was making. SHe got 100 bucks for two days of watching my cat..the damage was OLD and there was no way my cat who is a small breed could have done that type of damage. I paid just to get her back as she refused to give her to me. The lady is nuts and tries to get you involved in her vegan and animimal things. Be warned. Stay away.
