We got a call from someone saying they were from a local country club, offering us an opportunity to advertise in their magazine 'golf life' which is distributed to all their members along with 5 other local clubs. We expressed interest, at which point a different sales rep from luxlife publishing called. He offered us the inside front cover and an additional inside page for $1,000 for 12 months. We decided we wanted to proceed, at which point he wanted to get my credit card number over the phone, which is when i realized it was likely a scam. Did some research, found another Outscam with the same exact story. I also called one of the country clubs, and they never heard of them. It seems they may change their company name to avoid legal action But their number did not change from the last Outscam).

I was contacted by a "sales" person from luxlifepublishing to be listed as a Mental Health professional in what turned out to be a fictitious Ft. Lauderdale Yachting magazine. I paid $700 up front- I suggested doing half until a design was made but was told that upon receiving an initial proof professionals had taken the ad and not paid for the remainder of services.

I said that I was reluctant because I am stay at home mom and had a very small business and that was a lot of money for me but I was assured that the type of services I provided would be a great match for the clientele and the investment would get me the kinds of clients I wanted to work with. I signed a contract.

There was several emails back and both over 3 months regarding my ad and graphics and photo. A half decent proof was provided. It need a lot of work but it was a starting point. What I don't understand if they already had my money why bother spending the time keeping up the charade and designing an ad? I was even asked to write up a 300 word bio and then was later told there wasn't enough space to include it. That was very time consuming.

At some point all communication just stopped and that's when I got suspicious. I contacted all 5 of the yachting clubs that this magazine was to be in circulation at and none of them distribute this magazine to its members nor had they ever even heard of it.

I contacted a lawyer who provided me with a name and address, DOB of the owner of the "business". I took that name and went to the interent to find out that he was arrested for drug possesion (now I know how my $700 was spent). At this same time is when all the communication stopped. I'm sure he is the owner, the salesman, and also the graphics person wrapped up into one. Filiing a police report is my next step.

Phone Scam

I received a call from this company back in Sept and October of last year (2017) and agreed to a full page ad for their leaflets and publications that were going to local country clubs. Since we’re a small business, we thought it would be very helpful. We checked them out online and viewed their website, ads, and some online reviews before paying them $500 to get started. They promised that the ad would be created and be able to be used by us in the future, and that we would have a “proof” sent to us within a week. After 2 weeks I emailed two of the individuals that had emailed me after I paid, but received no response. Tried calling with no answer and then emailed their main office as well as the other email addresses I had about 8 times over the next few months with no response. THEY’VE STOLEN $500 FROM ME and won’t respond to emails or phone calls. Now I have to file a civil suit against them.

In September of 2017, I was contacted by a representative of LuxLife Publcation to advertise in their local Yacht & Boat Life magazine. The magazine was to be produced 4 x per year and displayed at all the local marinas. After reviewing their publication on line, I proceeded with the add. They appeared professional and I also contacted their local chamber fto verify their authenticity, which was confirmed.

After approving the graphics in November I was told I would be contacted as to the delivery date of the publications....When I had not heard back, I began reaching out to the company to find out when my personnal copies would arrive...For several weeks now, I have sent numerousemails as well as called. All phones are unanswered and no e-mails are being returned. My rep's phones all seem to be disconnected. I paid the company $1000 for a full paid ad and they are no where to be found!!!
