Long Distance Relocation Services Reviews
I am at the very beginning of my journey with Long Distance Relocation Services, and I am guessing it is going to be a long, painful journey. Currently, it is just very costly.
Long Distance Relocation Services has positioned themselves on the internet very nicely with I am assuming a bunch of very nice reviews written by employees. They may have also got a couple of moves correct.
My family is moving 800 miles, and we searched for reviews. Knowing that no move is ever perfect, we were very surprised by the reviews of Lond Distance Relocation Services. We recieved a quote that was lower than the other three quotes we recieved. It all seemed too good to be true...that because it is. That saying just proves to be true all the time. All quotes were very, very close to the same cubic feet. Our move was quoted at 1100 cubic feet by everyone. Fifteen minutes after the movers arrived we were presented with a revised quote of 1950 cubic feet. This nearly doubles our original quote.
Here are the clues I somehow missed during the confusion of making the move and changing jobs:
They do not offer an in home quote. Do not hire a mover unless you have an in home quote prepared.
They require a deposit, 50% of balance at pickup, and 50% of balance (CASH OR MONEY ORDER) at drop off
They broker these moves. A quick search of the government website proves they only have one truck.
My move has just begun. I do not know when or if my items will be delivered to their destination.

Be smart and careful when moving...and stay away from Long Distance Relocation Services.
