I was referred to this company for a job interview by the social worker I was working with at Family Service Agency in Phoenix and he told me to call the phone # and ask for Maxine, because she was the one who would inteview. Well, I called and talked with her and she made an appointment for me to come in and talk with her the following Monday, July 11, 2016. She was very nice and we had an enjoyable interview and during the interview she offered me the job, giving me an assignment to do in the meantime. As it is an inbound call center, I was given a sheet of paper that said 'interview script' at the top and was told that sometime after 6 pm, as per instructions on the sheet, I was to call their phone # and do a 'reading' over the phone of the contents of the short interview text that was on the paper, just so she could hear the way I sound over the phone. Well, I did that and read the script over the phone as per instructions. On the bottom of the page, it states the following: "You can follow up the next day after 9am if you'd like. (602) 483-5555 ext 313. Please leave a message if unavailable." Well, I did make that follow up call the following morning at approximately 9:20 am and talked with Maxine. She said that she and her boss hadn't had time yet to listen to the script readings of the night before and that she would listen to mine and call me in about 40 minutes.

Well, an hour and a half went by and she hadn't called and I began to get worried because I was really counting on this job, as I had turned down another job offer I'd received later that Monday of July 11th, as I'd already accepted this job and I viewed this job as a real opportunity for myself. So I called one more time and this time Maxine didn't answer but rather, I just got a recording of her asking me to leave a message, which I did. Well, another hour and a half went by before I receieve a call back but this time it wasn't Maxine, it was another girl who didn't seem to have any answers and she informed me I didn't have the job, and she was unable to give me a reason why the job offer was rescinded. She just said they probably offered it to another candidate who sounded better than me over the phone. I was taken aghast. Nothing was said about my being in competition with any other 'candidate', plus the fact that I was told I had the job. And I know it wasn't just down to two candiates anyway; they were highering a lot of people, as my friend went there for an interview on Wednesday of that week. She just said she has nothing else to tell me, that she was just calling for Maxine. This really 'threw' me, as I now had two jobs down the drain, having turned down that other job I was offered Monday.

Well, I went back to the social worker at the agency, as he had informed me this job was a sure thing and so had Maxine at the interview. When he emailed Maxine as to the reason why the job was rescinded, she lied to him and gave him a bogus reason, stating that it was because I kept calling them over and over and over again, pestering them. I only called that one time as per the instructions on the sheet. But she told me a lie and couldn't find out the truth. The I tried to get ahold of Maxine just to aske her what the reason was but she wouldn't take any of my calls and she wouldn't answer any of my messages. In other words, she just didn't want to deal with me apparently.

Well, today, August 10, 2016, I finally got ahold of her by phone by using a fictitious name. (Had I used my correct name, she never would have taken the call or answered my message.) I politely explained to her that I just wanted to find out the reason for withdrawing the job offer and why she lied to the social worker when he emailed her. First, she lied again by telling me she never received any of my messages, which I know she did, and then lied and said she never offered me the job. Then a man who had obviously been listening on the other phone, interrupted and started yelling and screaming and cursing at me, saying he was the owner and the reason I didn't get the job was my fault because I lied and he also threatened to call the police on me, for what I don't know, and he ordered me to stop talking and wouldn't let Maxine say anything else. He just kept yelling and screaming and cursing and going off on me, going on and on like a mad man and finally I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere with this matter and I hung up.

To me, he sounded like a very dangerous person to get on the bad side of and I'm telling folks about my experience with them and warning them to stay away from this company. I have the paperwork here and I've filed a complaint against them with the EEOC here in Phoenix. I suspected, from my own experience, that something was not right with this company and today, after hearing that man who got on the line and identified himself as the owner and started yelling and screaming and going off on me, when I was being polite and courteous, convinces me something is definitely wrong here. A person doesn't just 'go off' like a maniac the way he was doing unless he feels threatened and/or is psychotic or in some way emotionally unstable. I don't know what is going to happen with my EEOC complaint but I'm warning folks to stay as far away from this company as possible. I wish I had a recording of what that 'madman' said to me over the phone. He apparently has Maxine and those other people acting as some kind of 'puppets' for him. I hope the parent company executives will read what I've put down here and if so, I'd be glad to talk to them more in depth about this horrific experience I've had with this company.
