LiveCareer, Ltd. Reviews

Run away from this company. I did a google search to type up resume. Up popped livecareer.com offering a free resume builder. I used it, printed out my resume. I received a job. Someone said to me hey I did a google search for you and your resume is appearing in google search. Sure enough I searched and there was my resume up for everyone to see with all of my personal information. To make it worse, there is a "3 star rating" making it look as if I am somehow being rated. They outright refuse to remove the link with my resume from their website.

By law they are supposed to remove it. I complained to them and they seemed to have added more information to the page description to give it an even higher ranking. They are evil ! I don't know where they are located, their privacy policy is tricky, there is a statement that to remove information you need to log in, however they cancel your user name and password so you can't log in ! They are located overseas somewhere and are real slimeballs. They never collected a dime from me so I don't know what their problem is !

They start with a free subscription service which later turns into a 39.99 plan.

This plan further morphs to 12.99 plan when you try to cancel your plan.

You go to there webpage to cancel and hit cancel subscription .

The message says"

No active subscription

Your account has already been cancelled or is set to expire.

If you have any further questions, please call us toll free at 1-800-652-8430.

And to your surprize you still get billed the next month.

You will have to actually call up your bank to dispute the transactions so that they can actually cancel your account.

I would say stay away from these guys .

I signed up to use the 14 day trial. The company proceeded to bill me $39.80 three more times after that. They are claiming that I signed up for the monthly subscription which I did not.

Today is Dec 24, 2015. 4 or 5 months ago I engaged this service to use their Resume preparation service. They offer a 14 day free trial and then charge you $34.95 a month thereafter until you cancel. I have no prblem with that. I used the service for 1 Resume and inteneded to cancel via the terms and conditions.

I forgot to cancel and noticed the charge on my account twice (2 billing periods). I called the company and explained I only needed the service for one resume and forgot to cancel. They were understanding and provided some relief. I was satisified with that and also knowing that they cancelled my account.

I don't often look at this particular bank account but I did the other day and discoverred they had charged my account for 3 billing periods at $34.95. I called my bank and they have provided me a temporary refund while thye investigate. Howeve I reached out to them today via online chat (typing) and encountered a very diaturbing custome service rep whom I have identified in this reprot.

I told her what I encountered in the past and that the agent never cancelled my account as they were supposed to. She said that she needed a Ticket Number because she didn't have any on file. Obviously she didn't because the last CS Rep didn't do their job. She was unyielding to the Terms and Conditions and said it was "too bad" but she couldn't do anything..

After further pressingher she decided that she could give me a prorated refund for the current billing period of $19.17. Wow, how marvelous.

I told her to issue the refund. In the meantime I am advising the Attorney General for te state of California about Live Carreeer and the CS Rep.

This is what I have been dealing with for the past day. I cancelled the initial trial and this did not get reflected in my account. I have been charged 8 times for a service that I have not even signed into. Your employees will not refund my money and I can see why you have such horrible reviews online. I wish that I paid closer attention to my account and I would not be in this rough situation. I know that you outsource your phone services because everyone that I have talked to has a language barrier. Maybe this person who was supposed to cancel my account did not do so for whatever reason. I cannot speculate. I would like this issue brought to your attention and hope for a speedy resolution. My credit card is also investigating this complaint

This company lc live career, are scam artists they have taken $398.00 from my credit card which was not authorized, including 2 payments in one month, different dates different amounts.

Also there phone number when you try it is disconnected they never send receipts there so called charges on their website are very different from what they are taking from people.

I have now reported them to the banking fraud squad and are also looking at prosecuting them for fraud.

Built a resume with live career and opted to do one time fee of $1.95 and that was it. They have now billed twice at $39.80 for two months. They scam you once they have your payment. Terrible company and I went to my card holder and have them dispute it. But I have to call them as they won't block the scammers. Not happy with this company or BofA but advise find another resume site. SCAMMERS!!

I signed up for Live Career to use their resume builder and was told by their website that it was only $4.95. That was in June and when I was looking over my credit card history I realized Live Career has charged me $35 a month even though I haven't logged into the site since June and it is now Ocotber. This is a total scam and I thought I cancelled my account but I am still being charged.

AFTER THE TRIAL.... True cost is 9.95 / week billed 4 weeks at a time 39.80 after trial!!

AFTER trial 39.80 every 4 weeks!!!!

(( sorry for the repetition but i really really want to get the word out even if someone looks at this for 2 seconds.. i hope they see this)

it's deceiving because when you make the choice you seem to be looking at low costs. a trial at 1.99 and an annual that breaks down to 7.99 a month. this is where the mind fills in what it thinks it's seeing. after you've been billed 39.80

After the trial it automatically goes to 9,95 per week!! billed 4 weeks at a time... for a total of 39.80 first hit before you even know it... your money is gone!!!!

39.80 every 4 weeks after trial

These thieves you will be pointed to the area where you signed up for the trial and did not contact them to cancel. after which they will hit you hard and fast for the 39.80 which you will never see again!!!

good luck calling them, they're rude, they have your money and you can almost hear them smiling and mouthing moron.

i hope some people read this and save themselves hard earned money!

Livecareer.com , internal proof that they knowingly defraud customers.

Livecareer has actually an service agents manual for dealing with rip off enquiries and customers who feel that they have been scammed. The existence of such a manual and its agent guidelines make compelling reading and verify that the company is well aware of the perceived deceit. The manual can be viewed here.....

I made the mistake of creating a resume using Live Career; the $1.95 resume I thought I bought has now cost me $80.

I thought I was paying a one time fee when I paid for the resume I created so like an idiot I gave these rip-off artists my credit card information. They used that information to charge me for a monthly service that I did not authorize or want.

I was charged $39.95 for two months in a row before I discovered the charges. When I called to complain, the customer service person told me he was sorry and would cancel my service. He would not however refund the charges to my account, even though I have not accessed the website since I created the original resume. The best he would do was pro-rate the rest of the month.

This company knowingly engages in this bait and switch tactic to take advantage of some of our most vulnerable citizen; people out of work. People that are already living on a tight budget should not be subjected to such abuse. Do not use this company!

Im currently disputing this with my bank. I unsubscribed from this website, however am still recieving disturbing emails from them. This company caused me to have yto have my card cut in half, my bank closed, had to get a new account, lost money. This company is a FRAUD and as an Australian resident am discusted. This is a company that are supposed to help you make resume so you can get a job. And by the way, in the end i realised that their resume would be ripped before it was read by ANY employer.

This company advertises free resumes. They then charge you 1.95 after you have filled in details. They get you credit card for the 1.95. The next day the took 8.00 from my bank then the day after that they took 54.00 dollars from my bank. I quickly cancelled my card for fear they would do it again. They refused to pay my money back so I had to dispute them which takes around 120 days. These people proceeded to email me after cancellation of my subscription because they knew I was after my money back. This company is a FRAUD and I wouldn't advise anyone to use them. As an Australian resident I'm disgusted. The details as follow: 1 Hallide Plaza, suite 600 san Francisco ca 94102 USA - is the address http://www.livecareer.com - is the website address smartresumewizard.com/?utm_term=29213110145 Resume Builder.com ALL these are the SAME person RIPPING PEOPLE OFF...CATCH ON AMERICA !

Livecareer on their home page offers to create and print resumes. They have a fee charge of less than $2.95 which I accepted. However a week later a charge of $35.80 dollars from them appeared on my bank account. A charge that I had no clue would take place. And I was unaware of this taking place until August and this took place in March. Not only that but every month since they had charged another $35.80! In the end I have payed $146.15 for the creation and printing of 1 measly resume paper! This is an outrage! This company takes advantage of young people trying to begin their labor careers by doing this. I am just one of the many victims that has been scammed.

I signed up for the 14 day coverletter subscription for $1.95. A couple weeks later I found a charge for $39 on my card and found that they automatically enrolled me in their Resume Builder service which a did not sign of for and have no need for. I contacted them to cancel this service and get a refund. They only geve me a partial refund even though I never even logged into the account and didnt know I had it.
