Lincoln Heritage Life Insurance Company Reviews

  • Oct 8, 2018

Lincoln Heritage, Funeral Advantage I was an agent for Lincoln Heritage. I would like to tell agents beware! They charge $20-30+ per lead. You usually have to spend $300-600 for leads. Most of the leads are not very high quality and are stale. I had some luck with LH but after you consider what you pay in leads, which are financed by the company and consider chargebacks, you will not make any money. They also terminate their contracts at will for little reason. so you couldn't build continuity with them if you wanted. I would not suggest agents sell for this company. You'll wind up owing them when you leave if you are not careful. Policies are small, premiums are high and renewals are little to non-existant. And they will take your commissions when you leave and solicit your customer base directily when you are on contract.

I purchased a Funeral Advantage plan from Lincoln Heritage but because I did not have the policy for a full two year they only paid out $1446.00. They did not inform me of this. My was 83yrs old when I open the policy and passed at 84yrs old.Had I knew this I couldn't have open the policy.

!!URGENT!! Please read before ever even considering this company for yourself and/or your loved ones!! It has been less than 48hrs since my 64 year old mother passed away after losing a very rapid battle with cancer. It was very fast, within 4 months of discovering the cancer it spread to a point were mom was not able to competently make decisions, and with that the ability to call and change things on such things as accounts.. like life insurance premiums that are automatically taken out of a bank account. The trips, the hospital runs, the quick down hill slide that took my mother stopped any hopes of a POA in order to save her accounts because there was simply no time. My mother paid $32 and change for a mere $3,000 policy as extra for her grandchildren for when the time came to ensure there would be something left for them after costs.

The nursing home started intercepting her check from the bank, which left those autodraws to overdraw, and in turn miss a whole 2 payments totaling roughly about $65 dollars. It was told to us at the time that if anything happened she would at the very least receive the money she had paid in instead of the $3,000 face value of the policy, nothing was ever stated that a mere $65 or even one missed payment could stop everything. My mother and myself were both put in positions where we could not touch or change anything on the account without it being any fault of hers nor my own. I was met with simply "you could have called and paid the bill." However, there is a complete list of validated reasons that I could not possibly pay the bill with the first and foremost being that the company WOULD NOT talk to me until today because.. simply put I am not on the policy. They say that they will take payment from anyone... however, I was able to pay.. willing to pay... never notified as beneficiary or kin or even as a healthcare POA that any funds were even over due until notified by the funeral home that Lincoln Heritage refused to uphold their end because of the $65 lapse and the fact they were only notifying my, at the time, non competent mother. My mother never missed a payment for, at the very least, a year of her life she may have had the policy until she was ravaged by this cancer.

With all this being said, I was literally shut down by Lincoln Heritage, and I feel that they robbed my mom since the day they showed up on our doorstep. My mother also had another policy through a different company, that she had bought roughly around the same time period but it was a little larger of a policy. The same thing happened with that company, and after explaining the situation they told me, no worries... even if her policy had truly lapsed we would have found someway to help you in any way we could find possible. She said, that is what life insurance is for... to help those we leave behind, and to make the processes easier on those we leave behind so they can focus on grieving rather than trying to figure out how to respect our loved ones wishes with no means to do so. That is what a real life insurance company SHOULD be like, and it is because of them and them alone I will be able to give my mother the peace she wanted after her passing, but thanks to Lincoln Heritage my mother will not be able to leave anything for her grand daughters like she had hoped to after discovering the cancer had returned.

Also, I would like to mention the fact that Lincoln Heritage said that they had sent notices to my mother, which never actually came, however today as all of this unfolded I did receive a policy holders update, warning my mother that she may not have enough coverage through them and should buy more... not once did I ever receive a bill, an insufficient funds notice, nothing until today and it was simply to get more money. They actually quite a few times made reference in some form to the fact that if I had just paid the bill... well thanks for the blame on top of everything Lincoln... losing my mother was not enough I suppose... I wish I could leave no stars.. but I am speaking out 2 hopefully save others.

I am not the person that has endured the unfortunate unethical practice from this company. I have spoken with people who this company has solicited and There have been many people/clients who have been victims of rebating in non rebate friendly states and unethically replace policies those but who have great coverage options for themselves .....which is a big NONO in the insurance laws of many states. Not just that but however many people have become victims of many illegal actions committed your personal information could be left at risk!

I was in the market for insurance and after speaking with former agents of the company they will charge you for leads they have charged other previous agents then bill again for it and threaten to put it against the agents credit report when it goes unpaid. I hear that there may be several lawsuits against this company from agents who were loyal to the company regardless of the lead issue. And have been discriminated against and assaulted verbally in many different ways. This is not a good company to obtain protection with as they are dishonest and sounds like they care nothing more than to put a dollar in their pocket. AVOID AT ALL COST!

Lincoln Heritage will put most all insurance agents who try it completely broke.

In this economy you will be taking a huge risk of being completely broke because it cost over $600.00min to get started with the leads they have and when you get them it is literly a huge gamble with no guarentee of return on investment.

Very high chance of just accumulating debt.

Managers are there that can terminate you for anything and then they get to keep all your renewal and lead money.

Worst insurance company practices I have ever seen.

It a "wow what a mistake kinda place".

Lincoln heritage took advantage of me and my fiance(dead now)..tricked us in person about a dumb policy that had us believing we would be coverd if he passed within the first year.turns out it was after the year. He passed 4months later after being tricked into signing and its wrong.for he was disabled and could not read or write well and i was uneducated.i was left with nothing. Unable to pay for bills i lost my home .if all wasnt enough it got worse.i hate that company they took advantage of us especially knowing we needed a emergency plan because my fiance was sick and unfourtnetly didnt make it too much after.
