Lenox Hill Hospital Reviews

Please stay away from the ER hospital. I went there because I had a horrible ear pain and severe migraine and that’s the ER closest from my home and it was on a weekend so had no choice. I was seen by a PA His name is Mark. He saw me for literally 5 minutes. After that he made the diagnosis and right away prescribed the medication. I never ever saw a Doctor around or if it was one he didn’t want to waste a minute of his time to at least take a look and see what was going on with me. By the way the ER was empty I never seen a ER so quiet now wonder why? The PA said you got an ear infection exactly what I though I had. They gave me antibiotics and a very strong narcotics plus some antibiotics drops. A day later I didn’t see an improvement whatsoever but felt worse. I went to see a dermatologist and he right away when he saw my ear and told him my symptoms he said you got miss diagnosed you don’t have an ear infection you got shingles. He right away put me into antiviral medication and asked to stopped what they gave specially the narcotics who might create an addition and the ear drops that might hurt the ear instead of heal it.

After I saw the dermatologist I went to see if I could speak to the PA but he wasn’t there according to the nurse I saw that I would discribe like the most unsentive and careless human being a ever met. I told her the mistakes they made and she basically said with an ironic face...sorry but we are humans and we have the right to make mistakes. She literally said if we give you the wrong medication and you died upss !! Was just a mistake we are humans after all. What a horrible human being I wonder if her mom or daughter once get the wrong medication and they died she will make the same face when the Doctor tells her in her face sorry we are humans and we have the right to make mistakes. After that she goes like ok if you want to be seen again you have to pay again.

Note: if you if you don’t pay they don’t let you go. I would never come back to that horrible place .. Anyways I went to an othologist and otoryngology doctor today up at Colombia doctors. She affirmed what the dermatologist diagnosed. It was shingles and she said that what they gave at Lenox Hospitsl ER wouldn’t do nothing good to my ear but I might got worse if I didn’t treat it with the right medication. Imaging I would just trusted the 5 minutes consultation with the PA. Please be aware don’t just trust because you might think they know everything if MD who have many years of school made mistakes imaging a 2 year degree in PA will know when is not even supervise by a qualify physician. Stay awayyyyy pleasesss!!! If you have any more question you can email me at [email protected]

Medical record no. 5674923 RE: Refused treatment at Lenox Hill Emergency Room. I went to Lenox Hill ER on 12/20/16 at 04:10 hrs for treatment of a UTI and infected prostate. I identified myself as a retired member of the NYPD (retired 1st Grade Detective after 25 yrs in good standing) due to the fact that i was carrying my licensed handgun. I filled out proper paperwork n was seen by a professional male intake nurse who took my vitals, pedigree info, n asked me to furnish a urine sample, which i did. Numerous other patients came n went but i was not even spoken to by a physician.

A second nurse came over to see how i was n to retake my blood pressure. I saw my initial intake nurse asking him why i haven't been seen yet and he immediately spoke aloud to a few doctors at their station mentioning that i was there over 2 1/2 hrs n have not been seen. Finally a different security guard stopped by asking me if i was an off duty cop. I stated that I was retired. He said the doctors were a bit ANTSY in treating me. I asked ANTSY about what? He stated "THEY WERE NOT GOING TO TREAT ME BECAUSE I WAS A COP WITH A GUN".

Keep in mind I did not have any words with either patient or staff. I was never even given the results of my urine test. Yet Blue Cross n Blue Shield were billed over $2000.00 which I have protested and I am expected to pay $150.00 co-payment which I have also protested. I was completely REFUSED TREATMENT. At no time was I requested to safeguard my weapon which i would have gladly done. The next day i went to my family Urologist Dr Becher who prescribed two (2) types of antibiotics and one (1) type of pain killer. I was told I had an extremely bad infection and any longer would have been in the hospital. DISGRACEFUL.
