When I owned rental property I was introduced to a Puerto Rican woman who was homeless. She had three kids and was living in a motel. She was introduced to me a a 'Christian' woman who lived by the highest standards. I fell for it and let her move into a house I owned. She stopped paying rent almost immediately and disappeared. I kept going to the house trying to find her. Other people were moving in and out but this woman and her kids were gone. I had a lawyer file an eviction action against her. She showed up in court with a Legal Action of Wisconsin Lawyer and a interpreter to contest the eviction. The LAW lawyer told the judge that my tenant didn't speak english. She actually spoke perfect english but she convinced LAW otherwise. The case dragged on for months. This Puerto Rican claimed she had no where to go with her kids. I kept going to the house but the woman wasn't there. Other people were there but not her. I estimate that a couple dozen people moved in and out. I finally caught them in between moves and changed the locks. She called LAW and claimed I had locked her out and she couldn't get her stuff. I told the lawyers to go and check, there was nothing there. This Puerto Rican gypsy and her friends and Legal Action of Wisconsin cost me about $5000.00 and helped push me into bankruptcy. If that wasn't bad enough LAW got the judge to order me to give her a 'neutral' reference. This woman was ordered to pay me back rent and court costs. The problem was I could never find any record of this woman. I'm pretty sure she used false documents. I'm not sure that she even had any kids.
