Kelly Services, Inc. Reviews

I was supposed to receive another chance to complete my assessment testing but when I received the assessment tests on line, I could only complete data entry portion and not other half of the test. When they sent the tests to my home, I could not complete second half of test because it would not record my answers. Same thing in their office with their computer at Kelly Services office. I am baffled why my assessment cannot be completed!!

Company posts open positions for working at home providing technical support for inbound virtual call center. "Recruitement process" collects personal information from applicants. Part of the data collection is all used to verify age of applicant via social medai accounts as well as online communication applications "required" to conduct online interviews where age is required to set up installation of application profile. Company collects last 4 digits of SSN as another way to discriminate against age of applicant.

Additionally, "recruiter" askes for photo ID to verify address, name etc at beginning of online interview where collected data is mined and associated with information based off of SNN digits submitted to further discriminate. When a legitimate Kelly agent is contacted agent has no idea of this company association with Kelly services nor its inner workings. I am demanding the data mined off of my application process be removed from its databases.

I applied as a chat technical support agent several months back. It took more than a month after my invitation to interview to even get an interview. The first interview was cancelled by my recruiter on the day of the interview while I waited for her. I received an email while waiting for the recruiter to show up to the interview stating that the interview was cancelled and I would have to sign up for another day to interview. It took another week to get the next interview.

During my interview, I was told to write down dates and times of the training I would soon start. So I expected to start my job within just a couple of weeks. On the Friday before my training was supposed to start, I still had not received any information on what to do next, so I called the phone number provided in my emails to see why I hadn't heard anything. They claimed I had not sent in the required paperwork to start working. They did however receive my driver's license number and social security number that were provided on the I-9 that I filled out on the same day that I filled out and emailed the other paperwork they claimed they hadn't received.

So I send in the paperwork again. This time I am told another training class is starting in 3 weeks and I will be in that one. I was even told what day I would receive my formal employment call that would tell me how much I would be making, etc.. This phone call was supposed to happen on the 31st of July. By 1:30 that day I had not received a phone call, so I call again to make sure everything is still good for me to start my training on Aug. 7. I'm informed that they are working through a different shift than I would be working, and I would receive my call today, and if I hadn't heard from they by a specific time to call them back.

So I call them back today, because surprise of all surprises, I still had not received my phone call. I am informed today that they have filled up the class, even though I had been informed more than once that I would be in this training class, and they would just have to roll me into the next class, which unfortunately starts in October. So, not only did they inform me of 2 different training classes that I would supposedly be part of, but they continued to lose my paperwork, and lie to me. I now do not have a job, and this supposed company has access to my driver's license and social security numbers.

I thought I could trust this company because they are supposed to be a part of Kelly Services, however, they did nothing but lie and steal my personal information. They also wasted more than 2 months of my professional life, during which I turned down other jobs because this with KellyConnect was supposed to pay better, and they kept promising me that I would start working on specific dates, only to later inform me they weren't going to allow me to work. So not only did they keep me from working for them, they caused me to miss out on real jobs that I could have started sooner if not for them.

Kelly Services recruited me at a job fair to be a substitute teacher. They told me they would help with the process because they were so desperate for substitutes. At the time, they were advertising all over for help.

My school district has contracted with them as the sole provider for substitutes, so if you want the job, you have no choice but to work with them. A Kelly employee sent me an email asking for my transcripts and other information. I did everything they asked and sent them all the information they requested. I got my state certification, got fingerprinted and ordered formal transcripts to be sent to the state, which wound up costing over $100. Kelly didn’t lift a finger to help with any of the certification process.

After a couple of months of not hearing from them, a secretary calls me and says the last thing they need is my transcripts, which I had already sent two months ago. I told them I had already sent them a while back, and I did not want to have to pay to have official transcripts sent again. I asked if scans of them would work, and she said yes. So I resent them the email that I had sent two months previously.

Then a supervisor sends me an email and tells me that, because I had replied to the person who had been working with me at the time of the original email, I had sent the original email to the wrong place. It was supposed to have been sent to a different email address with a number. Even though it was an honest mistake that anyone might have made, she told me that I was unprofessional because thousands of people had turned in their information without making that mistake.

I apologized for the miscommunication but said it was hardly fair to call me unprofessional and blame me for their bureaucratic snafu. All their employee would have had to do was to return the message to me or pass it along to the proper address. She then replied that she had decided that I was unprofessional for questioning their procedures, and she would not hire me as a substitute teacher.

This is a private-sector contractor doing business for a public-sector entity, yet one capricious person on a power trip can scuttle the entire proceeding on a whim after I have spent over $100 and done everything they asked. I tried telephoning to speak with this person, but she will not respond. Kelly Services is a rip-off operation that is long on promises but short on performance.
