Kaiser Permanente Reviews

  • Mar 30, 2023

I applied for federal retirement but had to delay the process. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) was informed about the request. They received the retirement documents but requested additional information as acknowledged in their letter dated June 20, 2022. However, OPM started the monthly health care deductions on September 1, 2018. The monthly benefits deductions consisted of Kaiser Permanente Health Insurance Premiums in the amount of $168.42. Kaiser Member Service Center Customer Representative Nirbesh Regmi was sent a Website email on June 28, 2018 questioning my enrollment status. I never received a reply from Kaiser. Therefore, I began health care treatment at the University of Colorado Hospital (UCHealth) Aurora, CO. The treatment at University cost $1,539.60 after insurance deductions. Although treatment was previously rendered at Kaiser, the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center is my primary health care provider. I am a total and permanent disabled veteran rated at 100%. Kaiser never informed me about any active enrollment for health care benefits. If they had informed me about deductions being withdrawn for medical benefits the UCHealth invoice would have been avoided. The health premium of $8,244.96 should have been adjusted to my retirement pay. They have refused to reimburse me for their gross miscommunication and lack of concern. They are laser focused on money, paycheck, and retirement.

I have been with Kaiser since about 2007 in that time I have had many differnt primary vare doctors and have been treated poorly and have had many of my health issues neglected.

MY issues are : heart problems, liver disease, calcified pancreas, hernia, colon problems, bulge in abdomen, distended abdomen, lower back disk problems, asthma, high blood pressure, bladder problems and incontinent, very painful vericocele vein in left t******e, nights sweats for over 4 months, chronic constipation, chronic vein insuffiency that causes edema swelling in feet and lower legs.

I have had at least 10 or more primary doctors since I started with Kaiser in 2007. Out of the 10 only 2 were nice and did a good job but they ended up quitting Kaiser and I dont blame them for leaving. I have had terible treatment by 2 Urologists in the Urology department at Panorama City there names were Dr Schwartz and DR Winters.

Both of them treated me terrible and talked to me in a very condescending manner and both refused to consider me for a surgery for the painful vericosecele vein in my left private region. I asked to let me get help elsewhere out of the network and they refused to let me do that too.

I have been treated poorly by many primary doctors some talked down to me, others would neglect me by not treating the health issues that I asked them to. A few of the doctors would not respond back to my emails or calls they would let the nurses do it which shows their lack of concern for their patients.

Two doctors did not respond back to me about my prescripstions and that caused my medications to run out which was hazardous to my health. The last time I went to the ER at Woodland Hills location for an internal infections she did bloodtests and other tests and an EKG and xray of my chest.

When she came back she said everything looked good but said there was infection so gave me one shot of some antibiotic and I asked her whats causing my infection she said I dont know. When I went home i went to the website to look at my blood tests results and noticed that my blood sugar reading was very elevated and she failed to tell me that.

Just recently I switched to a new primary doctor his name is Dr Choi. I cancelled one appointment with him because I was sick at home and they dont want to you come in there if you are sick. So I made another appointment with him had to wait a month for it.

So about 8 days before my appointment I went to the Kaiser website to check some things and then I went to the appontment area and I was shocked they removed my appointment .

Then I called the main number at Kaiser I asked the lady to check my appointment and she said yes the doctor cancelled my appointment and gave no reason I got very upset as I really needed this appointment.

I have had night sweats every night for over 4 months and my blood pressure keeps going high then low again and I really need help for these 2 issues but Dr Choi does not even care enough to tell me why he cancelled my appointment and did not get me a replacement appointment either.

Kaiser is taking risks with my health and I do not appreciate it. I complaned to Member Services twice about this but nothing ever happens. If you ask me about Kaiser I will tell you read all that I wrote here about Kaiser then decide if you want to go there.

They seem to not want to help me but yet they keep taking my money and my health insurance form MediCare.

Crystal Lax Email: [email protected] Phone:424-351-1277 I Crystal Lax do swear the below statement are true to the best of my knowledge. I Crystal Lax went by paramedic to Kaiser Permanente facility 1100 Veterans Blvd, Redwood City, CA 94063 Phone:650-299-2000 emergency room. August 31, 2021 Time: 12:30 noon to 1:30 P.M. appropriately.

I went because I had extreme amount of water retention fluid build up in my legs knee area, especially on the right side are I have arthritis. The doctor never gave me any pain relievers when I asked. Doctor conducted tests but no treatment for the swollen aching water retention legs. No alleviation of my legs nor water retention pills to drain my legs of the water build up pressure on my legs. Which made it very difficult to walk on. I also explained to hospital case worker why my legs are swollen.

I been homeless seeking shelter no available beds to accommodate a person in wheelchair. I been sitting up on buses, trains and in my wheelchair. Meaning no real circulation are being brought to my legs without lying down on them and stretching them out. First doctor before shift change came into the room inform me. They were going to discharge me. I called the nurse to speak with patients relation. I totally disagree as a Certified Nurse Assistant. I told them. You cant just discharge me with my legs no being treated. You took all me Medicare/Medicaid information to Bill them. You gave me have done service. My leg condition never got treated properly.

This is Medicare/Medicaid fraud. Medicare is paying health care providers to give patients quality care. I as a client of Medicare/Medicaid feel I was wrongful discriminated against due to living status of being labeled homeless. I felt the Kaiser Permanente emergency hospital staff didn't go further to treat relieve my inflamed swollen aching leg condition. When I started complaining about this matter and recorded the white nurse unprofessional mannerisms. She started raising her voice at me. Got a hospital security guard. He came in like gangster. Grab my phone. My property after I told them I deleted the video.

They aggravated me. Locked me inside the room. Refused to hand my phone property back to me. I became harass by hospital white Nurse yelling at me. Black security snatch my phone away. After I told them video is deleted. They purpose deprived me of medical treatment and property. I have heart problems, extreme high blood pressure, history of two strokes fracture foot on left with painful arthritis Rob Medicare Medicaid of their money by not providing quality care to patients MEDICARE FRAUD

Roseville Kaiser Hospital ,Nurse Alicia Livesay Vale is currently under investigation for stealing a significant amount of drugs — including the narcotic pain medication Dilaudid and the addictive sedative Ativan — from the hospital during a three-month period that ended in April 2018 Alicia Libras Vale, of Roseville, CA was arraigned on 19 counts of larceny of a drug, according to court documents. She undergoing external investigation that will lead up to termination by the hospital, a police report says. In early January, Roseville police were notified by hospital security personnel that nurse Alicia Livesay Vale had pulled an unusually high amount of Dilaudid — nearly four times the amount of an average ER nurse — from an automated medication dispenser since mid-October, according to the report.

On Jan. 9, a security officer and two ER nurse managers, adhering to hospital policy, cut the lock off nurse Vale locker, finding an assortment of controlled substances, syringes and needles, the report says.

nurse Alicia Livesay Vale later that week allegedly admitted to nurse managers that she would take medication home by accident and then throw it away, which is against hospital protocol for wasted medication. But when confronted with data of the amount of medication she removed from the dispenser, nurse Vale began to cry, admitting to using Adderall and Dilaudid and injecting herself with Dilaudid at the end of her shifts, according to the police report. The report says nurse Vale denied using drugs while working her shifts at the hospital. human resources department was also investigating a Twitter post linked to an employee named Alicia Vale The tweet, from an account named Night Nurse said: "Every black woman raises a detriment to society when they raise a son. Someone with the HIGHEST propensity to be a terrorist, rapist, racist, killer, and domestic violence all star. Historically every son you had should be sacrificed to the wolves n*****.

I have called KP twice to have my automatic billing set up. Also, I use their website KP.org to ensure I am up to date on all payments.

Today I went to make a refill on a prescription and the system let it go through. I then received a call from KP that they couldn't process my request. After a laborious call I found out that my plan had been cancelled because I hadn't paid my monthly premium. When I went onto KP.org there was no notification of a past due bill or amount owed. They said they had sent out a letter for the bill and the cancellation but I never received either.

I spoke with the supervisor Vanessa M. who said she would not be able to reinstate my plan.

At no time did KP attempt to contact me to let me know that my plan had been cancelled or that there was an amount due. They said they sent a letter but made no other attempts to contact me via email, KP.org message services and or phone call. They also have my credit card on file and could have processed the payment.

I work overseas and use their online system to ensure I am up to date. When I told Vanessa this she had no desire to help me or to see if there was a way to get my service reinstated.

The worst part about this is I went over a month with no health coverage and didn't know it. I even was able to refill my prescription in the month of June that they said I wasn't covered for which would indicate that I am/was covered. Had I been in a car accident or some had some other medical emergency I wouldn't have known it until I was at the hospital. This is extremely unprofessional of KP.

This is why I HATE Kaiser Permanente. I left them under ACA, but had to return this year. Have a Lupus Rx I have to refill monthly. Started trying weeks ago. Now basically out. They finally fit me into my former primary care today. Actually had a great, encouraging visit. Even thought they were an hour late seeing me. Then another 30 minutes by which point the Dr had left since it was after 5pm. Pharmacy finally has the Rx, but at retail, which is like $300. Saying they wouldn't pay for it. Mind you, my records indicate that I have filled EXACTLY the pre-reqs they require. Which is why, under the EXACT same health record # in 2015 & earlier it was covered. But their billing dept isn't looking at that, or the scanned documentation that originally facilitated the approval. Even after the pharmacist’s third call where she told them she can see it. KP billing just parrots off that I will have to wait through an appeal process. The poor pharmacist was caught in the middle, and the Dr can't be reached. I AM TIRED, FURIOUS AND DEFINITELY NOT "THRIVING" UNDER KP. Don't get me started about my multi-year battle with them over Sjogren's being medical not dental.

I had a pre-approved prescription from "my doctor" then the doctor disappears and they claim she will not be available until after January 2017, so whenever I renew a prescription, the mail order has the prescription approved by doctors supposedly standing in for "my doctor" ONLY THIS GUY changes the prescription from 100 pills to 60 pills (which cost the same under my plan. Mail order gives you 100 day supply for the price of 60 days). BUT when they change the quantity to 60, I get only 60 pills but am charged the same as for the 100 on the initial prescription. Now this additionally screws me because this supposed "doctor" cancelled out the ability to renew my 100 pill prescriptions. So I am screwed forever unless I waste a lot of my time calling, following up, and complaining. I NEVER MET this supposed doctor, he is not even listed as a California licensed physician, he has NEVER EVEN TALKED TO ME, yet he has the nerve to change my prescription quantity even though I have a confirmation for the larger amount.

Makes me SICK. They are doing this in my opinion to make more PROFIT. This is FRAUD. I never authorized for them to change my order. They never called me to discuss their reasons. I never saw this guy.

On august 14, 2015 i went to my appointment with dan yamada in the physical therapy dept. at kaiser permanente in napa, CA. when he came to get me out of the hall lobby he immediately said "oh this isn't going to happen today. not with your dogs." i said it's a violation of the americans with disability act to refuse me service. he was standing 18 inches from my big dog, who is a massive shedder.

dan yamada, then said, well sorry about the law but i'm allergic. i then pointed out that the ADA addresses allergies and say you must see the patient anyway, take your allergy meds. not one teary eye, sneeze, sniffle, cough, hive or any other allergic reactions were witnessed by me after 15 minutes of his standing there arguing with me. i asked to speak with his manager and he said I AM THE MANAGER.

he then proceeded to tell me to leave the dogs alone in the hallway. are you nuts? it's against the law, puts my dogs in danger and they are SERVICE DOGS who monitor my disease so i need them with me! how dense must he be?

i asked for his bosses phone number and he gave me some fake 800 number. yeh, it just keeps getting better. i asked him about seeing another PT and he told me they were "all busy". why? because my dogs would come into the offices and leave their dander and he still wouldn't have sneezed.

kaiser sent out an all hands email to their employees 3 years ago stating that service dogs were allowed and that if you were "allergic" to take your benadryl. i have had 10 incidences with kaiser regarding my dogs and they have done nothing.

so now they can face the DOJ who polices violations of service dog access.

kaiser claims customer support is their number one goal and that is a flat out lie. you report things to "member services" and they do NOTHING. so now i'm going legal on them. i am also retaining an attorney. they complained about my service dogs but someone had a pet in the pharmacy who was yapping and running at my dogs and the security guard idiot told me it was a "companion" dog. guess what? "companion" dogs are not covered under the state or federal laws but if it bites my service dog, you pay a 10k fine. and kaiser pays 55k, per person who violated the laws.

my biggest cause of stress is dealing with kaiser permanente. a non profit who made 1 billion in profit per quarter this year so far. uh huh. non profit? check out salaries and bonuses. you get the because they HAVE to spend all that money or lose their non profit status. they don't give to cents about their patients.
