John's Main Autobody, Main Towing Main Autobody Planet Towing This company towed my vehicle from the City of Union City for a parking violation. The City has regulated towing a storage fees. These fees a broken down into several catagories, First being a basic tow, with a basic tow truck with the conventional sling to bar, Second being a Tow truck / Wheel Lift, Third being a Flatbed tow. first being the cheapest $75.00 Second being Wheel Lift $125.00 and Third being Flatbed $125.00 John's Main Autobody is double billing and charging for a basic tow plus a flatbed or wheel lift. They are also addingg other charges that are not allowed. This company is also charging these fees to insurance companies for cars involved in accidents. This is insurance fruad. They are billin fees not allowed. They are double billing, charing twice for a single tow. That is insurance fraud. The owners son is a lawyer and is constantly getting him out of trouble. This company has been the subject of many investigations over the years. They are ripoffs, the cops all collect kick backs for tows, just any resident in the area. Everytime this company submits a invoice to an insurance company, and they are billed for a tow and also a flatbed or wheel lift? another charge of insurance fraud has been committed. The dollar amounts of insurance fruad committed over the years is in all likely hood STAGGERING and can result in hundreds of millions of dollars over the past 20 years. This is the biggest single reason we pay the sky high insurance premiums we do.
I was ripped off by this company, unfortunately this is nothin as to what is being done on a daily bassis by this company. These people are criminals, they are politically connected and protected by Mayor and State Senator Sacco. The son of the owner John Appello JR who operates from a building on the property of the towing company keeps very busy defending his dad and making problems go away. This company was recently removed from the Towing rotation list in Hoboken, NJ, and it was done so very quitly, Hoboken officials will not give a reason for the removal, but only say they will not ever again perform towing for the City of Hoboken.
This company was also removed from the official towin list from the Hudson County Shreiffs office, the company tried to monopolize the rotation list with multiple fabricated towing company names , but it was found out and they were immediately removed and it was all over the news. But I guess the son the lawyer took care of it and hushed it all up. The owner of the company John Appello Sr. was arrested many years ago for stripping a planted vehicle the New Jersey State Police had planted. John Appello Sr. plead guilty and was awarded Pre Trial Intervention.
