Jasper Contractors, Inc. Reviews

WARNING! JASPER ROOFING CONTRACTORS ARE CON ARTISTS! This company needs to be put out of business, fined, jailed and made to pay back all the money they have taken from people! There are complaints from all over the country on the internet about them. I have filed a complaint with the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. They knocked on my door after Hurricane Irma and offered to give me a free estimate to repair my roof. The salesman had me sign the "free estimate" on his tablet. A few days later I got a check in the mail from my insurance company made out to Jasper Contractors and me. Puzzled, I contacted my insurance company and they said Jasper Contractors sent them a contract signed by me to do the work! I was in shock! I had chosen a different company to do the work after getting my "free estimate" from Jasper. After many phone calls to Jasper, they said they won't cancel the "contract" unless I pay them $2500! I refused. Then I received phone calls from the rudest and most obnoxious woman named Renee that I ever spoken to in my life. After being berated by her several times, she sent me an agreement she claims was prepared by a law office but it was obvious she had amateurishly composed it herself. She claims if I sign it promising not to write any negative reviews or file any complaints (or I will have to pay them $10,000), they will release me from the contract. However, the way she worded it, no date in it as to when they would actually release me and her refusal to put in a date, etc., I cannot safely sign it. So, as of this date, I am still being held hostage by them. We’ve been having heavy rainstorms almost daily and there is potentially more damage being done to my home. Now hurricane season has begun and I have no way to get my roof repaired because of them.

On 7/10/17 I had the unfortumate pleasure of meeting Darrin from Jasper Roofings. At first meeting he was needless to say very nice, abit busy but nice. After all was signeed and he left that was the last I saw of him andI had to repeatedly call him to find out the statis of my roof. The insurance company sent the check which he sent a man by the name of Robert out that day to pick up. It then took numerous calls to once again get a start date. Darrin kept putting me off by saying he did not have all the paper work which I know he did because I had given it all to Robert after making copies for myself. Finally I called corporate aned low and behold all was ready to go. Strange. The date to start was 11/30/17. They were here and started and after I returned from work they were putting on the shingles.Just started to. I realized at once they were the wrong ones and asked them to stop immediately.

The foreman refuseed and even told them to work faster. By the time I got ahold of Darrin they were all but done and he was sending someone out to see what could be done. Needless to say Jasper does not take no for a answer. They are right and you are wrong end of story. I never talked to Darrin or anyone higher. He sent a man named Robert to collect the rest of the money and sign off. I argued and he kept saying it was to no avail I had no leg to stand on. They had signed papers and they would win. No choice but to cough up the money and live with the awlful color I have on my roof. I am devasted because I feel have been raped. No respect, no sorry no nothing. My house is the uglist on the block now. We are eldrly and live on fixded incomes so suing did not seem a option. LIke I said he kept throwing in our face they had all the proof and we had none. I should of went with my gut feeling and depended on the truth prevailing.

They are con artists and have no caring of the final product once the paper is first signed. Please never deal with them and especiall with the man named Darrin. Smooth talker and back stabber. I pray this helps someone else from getting taken in as we were.

At this point all I do is cry when I come home. I do housekeeping to make ends meet and this took a lot os savings. Thank you for taking the time to read this.Oh my house was suppose to be birch beach, nice and light, it looks like nothing more than tar paper now. If I was savoy enough to take pictures and put on here I would of. God Bless

I live in Highlands Ranch CO. Recently we had a hail storm and I began to check out several roofing companies . Several of my neighbors had Jasper roof ads displayed so I considered them as the front runner to replace my roof. On the surface they seem to be a decent company, New trucks, decent web site etc . Prior to calling Jasper I decided to watch them work since they had several jobs going on close to my home. That is when I discovered some problems ! Jasper says that all of its workers are certified ,licensed and insured ! I spoke with 3 different Jasper crews here is the the information that I got.Jasper subcontracts all roof jobs ! After talking to at least 20 different workers it turns out that most of them said they have no insurance ! Actually several admitted that not only did they not have any type of workers comp insurance but were not legally allowed to work in the states ! Not sure how a company can describe them as fully insured when the workers are not even here on a visa ? So I decided to check this company out a little more, Turns out they have had several accidents to include a fallen worker killed in Woodland Park ! When I contacting other companies !There was solution I came up with to protect myself ! I found another roofing company and they had no issue showing me documents for every worker they sent to my house ! So here is what I suggest when the Jasper crew shows up at your home check IDs and get insurance information for every worker at your home ! Be safe any real company should follow such basic rules as insurance for workers and quite frankly they should be authorized to work legally here !

So, I made the mistake that so many people make and would advise you to learn from my mistake.

Do NOT work for Jasper Contractors! What a set of nit wits!

Here is why not;

you can't make any money

they screw you on the way out

they lie-constantly-to sales people

you will sell roofing to help illegal aliens get work

they work people to death (I did not mind 70-80 hour weeks, but my wife did)

oh, and you can't make money!

here is why you might want to work for these idiots;

you suck and sales and you desperately need $500/week for a while until you can get a real job, and you are a supreme a*s-kisser. that pretty well covers it. If this is you, you can go far...meaning past 3 months. oh yeah, if you need a vehicle to drive around while you look for work, you can use their truck and gas!

I lasted 7 months, was on pace to write 1.3 million in revenue, outsold everyone in my market (although some of the guys did out produce me in Arizona due to their ability to kiss a*s and get spoon-fed) still, at the end of my time there, only 4-5 people had produced more revenue for the 7 months I was there. Had I made it a full year, I am confident that I would have been in the top 3 in the company for YTD sales.

in their defense, they have decent sub contractors roofing, although they only have a few American citizens/legals. They also have crews that really screw up a roof. In Arizona, for example, nearly EVERY roof I put on (4-6/week) had complaints. Jasper will fix the problems, but they should have been done right the first time.

if you want to have some fun with them, find a roof going on and call INS!!! or if you are a homeowner considering using them, just remember that they have a worthless contract and you can walk away anytime before you give them money or they perform work. Use them for the claims process and then shop for a local contractor who will be there next year. Jasper will not be there next year. They claim that they are not a "storm chaser" but they are. They are the big storm chaser. They get complaints a year after the roof goes on, when it is leaking, then they have to call a local roofer themselves to fix your leak!!

It really is a terrible place to work in sales. Maybe the office girls make out okay, especially if they are willing to perform for the owner. He has a rule about hiring hot young babes, and has been known to have relationships with the help.

there are a few good people in management there, but only one good field manager as of May 2011. The field managers are a bunch of a*s kissers and many of them could not make it in sales, so they put on the brown nose to move up. Pathetic.

I can thank them for the experience. I learned a new business and where to make money in it, and it is not with Jasper. Also, you should know this-they are really disliked by insurance adjusters. There are a few of them who like Jasper, or like some of the Jasper sales people, but mostly, in local markets like Salt Lake, you will be hated while representing Jasper.

Here are the top lies told at Jasper (perpetuated by uneducated company leaders)

1. we have a 67% buy rate (under 30% in SLC and under 50% in Arizona)

2. you will make $100k a year at quota-NOT!

3. 10 contracts a week and you will put on 6-7 roofs/week (really?)

4. 10 contracts a week and you will have no problem hitting quota (sure)

I could go for days on this but I have to run. Maybe I will pick this up later. Let me say to all the LDS kids being recruited that I am sorry for setting up the account with LDS Employment. I hope I can help prevent more people from being involved with this company, its leadership and chief liars.

Well, this make shift company not only has a high turn around, but they treat their employees like dogs.

They take Commissions from their sales guys and nobody can say a word of anything in fear of getting fired. Its a Work Dictatorship!!!

They set up an illegal 45 days and 3 day check pick up rule for their sales guys via email, which in turn changes a whole commission structure. THEY THINK THEY ARE ABOVE THE LAW!!!!

They advertise on their job postings, "You can make $1000 +!!! That's all BS. They take all the money in a ridiculous 28% overhead gross profit!!!

This is how their commission structure works:

Ex. $8000 job for 32 squares of roof= $250/sq

28% of $8000= $2,240.00 Production Cost= $ 5376

Add the 28% and Production Cost= $7616

Whatever is left over is divided by 2. Therefore, $192 belongs to the sales guy. Sometimes nothing!!! Its all to the mercy of the insurance payout. However, the sales guy is responsible for everything. They have become so greedy that even the $192 they are trying to take away from the person who originated it all.

Wedding, THINK ABOUT WHO'S MAKING YOU MONEY YOU P***K!!!! Its not your office bimbo's, which you hire based on looks.

There's plenty more, however, I would probably never stop typing.

Purchased a roof replacement for hail damage. They did a horrible job on the install, sharp edges on flashing, did not put wires back where they belong, destroyed landscaping, left water hose running all day, left oil stains on asphalt in

street in front of house, and in driveway, left package wrapping all over yard. Left old shingle materials around

yard, left a roofing nail by kids toys, popped my sons inflatable pool, did not tarp the deck or flower beds and now they all have debris all over them and will need to be power washed. They removed all light mounts for Christmas

lights, and they are no where to be found.

When they delivered the roofing materials, they did not cover them, and they sat in the ran for most of the morning including the felt. One supervisor flat said that we had a "Newer Crew" working at our house today so they didn't know

better. They told me if I did not pay they would sue me.

Received a follow up phone call from the CEO of the company stating that he would personally come to my house to talk to me, called me an idiot several times, and attacked my personal company. Further continued to use vulgarity and tell me that if I did not pay within 30 minutes (Keep in mind work is still not completed), he would put every lien on my pathetic house that he could, and file a lawsuit.

I want this job done right, and not the mess that they left it in. I want a magnet sweep of the whole yard to verify there is no more nail debris. I want the landscaping fixed and the bushes replaced. I would like the inflatable

pool replaced, and all wiring to be placed where it was prior to the project start. I would further like the replacement

of the poor flashing job that they did, along with a written guarantee of workmanship for the job they did.

Update: After filing numerous complaints, I get a call from Brian Wedding the C.E.O. first thinking, ok great this guy really

cares about his company, man was I wrong. He starts calling me an idiot, and how dare I talk to his staff the way

that I did, and that if I did not pay him in 30 minutes he would file a lien on my house and a lawsuit against me. (Not

hey tell me your side of the story on what happened).

Next: I get a call from him at 10:30 pm from his room at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in New Orleans, and he is telling my my house is in foreclosure, and questioning me on my legal name change I did 10 years ago, and saying he is going to call my business partners to tell them I am trying to scam his roofing company. Who does this? If I was the board of directors, I would be shopping for a new C.E.O. Read the other reviews on this company from their former employers, contractors, and roofing customers, these guys have an insanely bad reputation, and give all roofers a bad name!

I recently hired Jasper to replace my roof. I must say I was completely unsatisifed with the service they provided. They did not install drip edge which is a standard in Arizona. Every house with a new roof has drip edge. When I called the regional manager Randy Haines he said the following, "if you're such a roofing expert why did you not stop them when they started to put the shingles on your house? Now we have to go back and lift all the shinges to put on the drip edge." My response was, "I'm no roofing expert and when did it become my job to manage your roofers?".

Upon further inspection of the roof I also noticed they cracked the 1x1 board going around my roof and simply ignored it. I also noticed a smell of tar when the sun hit my roof. I called an AC company and they informed me that when Jasper lifted my AC to replace the shingles it broke the seal from my AC to my duct work. I decided to have another roofing company come out to inspect the job. The final issue they found was that none of objects on my roof were painted to match the roof color. I guess this is a standard in the roofing industry and one more corner Jasper decided to cut.

If you're considering a new roof do not consider Jasper.

Jasper will use and abuse you. If you like 12 hr days, 6 days a week and little time for your family and being hounded by email on the co. blackberry this is the place. The owner Brian Wedding is a maniacal phsyco. The new guys are told in training do not talk to him. He will fire people on a whim, for any little thing that he does not like with no regard for production and hard work or the effect on the employee. And the Pres Carl Mcnair has an ego the size of Texas. I committed myself to the company for months working my rear off, making Jasper money and was let go out of the blue. The other accounts on this site are true, they do keep an awful lot of the profit generated, and no one is making $100k, not even close.

The business model is churn e'm and burn e'm. they just keep hiring new people, the turn over is 100%! That says it all. The only one making money is Wedding. He told the guys in Pheonix somebody will make $100k over 90 days. It was him! No one will even come close!

In Ft Collins we recently had a huge hail storm blow through, contractor after contractor stopped by with the "best deal in the business". Jasper seemed to be the only company that was going to do an honest job for us.

We had two home that were damaged in the storm so we wanted them both fixed by one company because we figured it would be less hassle.

We signed two roofing contracts that gave us 3 days to back out, otherwise it was a binding contract.

We were promised a $500.00 "sign allowance" for advertising on one home and another $250.00 for the second home.

We were told that they would not include this in the bill that they sent to the insurance company, but that it would be written as a second agreement with us.

- Sounded a bit fraudulent to me, but I don't know if or how they bury that cost in the bill they give to the insurance company.

All I was assured, was that I would be paid this amount for advertizing, and I have two written contracts that are signed by an agent for the company that say exactly that - we will be compensated for keeping a sign in the front yard.

We were promised that the job would be completed in one day and we had about two weeks to wait for the service.

A day or two before the job was to be completed, we received a phone call from the Jasper Rofing agent saying theat there was a scheduling conflict and that the job would be delayed. We waited several days into the next week and still no call about rescheduling.

I called the company to ask what was going on and was given the run-around. Around a week later I finally made contact with the agent who sold me the roof and he told me that they couldn't do our second home because they wouldn't make enough money on it, the roof was too small for them.

I called them and told them that I expected to be compensated for the advertizing even though they weren't going to do the job. Their signs had been up in my yard for three weeks at this time. And several neighbors had subsequently signed up with Jasper Roofing, I'm sure because they saw that others in the neighborhood were using the same company

When I called the company and told them I expected them to complete the job as described in the two signed contracts I have in my possession, they treated me like crap, verbally berated me for assuming that what I had in my hand was actually a contract, and that they should do the job they agreed in writing to do.

All I can say is that when they "sell" you a roof, they will not honor their contract, they'll lie to you, and treat you like S$%^ when you try and follow up. I can only imagine what they would be like if you had trouble with your roof while it was still under warranty.

My neighbor was promised $100.00 for referring my business to Jasper. I Never did see any of the money for the sign allowance, nor did my neighbor get any money for referring me to the company.

STAY AWAY - they will lie to you and not honor their contractual obligations.

Jasper Roofing came through my neighborhood after a storm with a great sales approach to getting your insurance company to pay for your whole roof to get replaced. I thought I had been quite lucky for my roof to be one that was being replaced.

The salesman had me sign the contract while we were on the phone with my insurance as we talked for almost an hour one of the last things was talking about was the color. My roof was black he gave me this sales pitch on how if I went lighter my utilities would be better and such. I told him I wanted to possibly consider something else but I had touched and picked the color onyx which is a black shingle with shades of gray. He assured me that because of the long process of getting to roof approved I would have plenty of time to change my mind.

He wrote the color and I never gave it a second thought. My roof was approved and apparently there was a hail storm in CO and my salesman went to chase the storm. Once the roof was approved I called and he said that they would start as soon as I could give them my $1000.00 deductible. He arranged for another person to get it from me nothing was discussed about color because I knew that I just wanted the onyx so I didn't even bring it up to change it because I thought thats what was written.

The day my roof was being put on I went to the property things were going by swiftly by 9 am they had my old roof off. I had to work so I left after the onsite

Forman showed up. My tenant remained at the property and called me 10:55 am to

tell me that the wrong color was being put on. About a 10x15 area of the

shingles were on at that point, they were Hispanic but my tenant speaks Spanish and told them

several times to stop because it was the wrong color nothing was done.

Jasper does a good job of defending their "Good-Name" and justifying what they are doing but the truth is that they work their employees 70 hours or more per week minimum, expect you to do the paperwork after the 70 hours are done and then tack on meetings to attend which makes some days 15-16 hours long. The pay averages about $8.00 per hour and you are treated like an idiot. Most of their managers are just "HYPE" men who tell you how great the opportunity is but the facts are.... "IT JUST AIN'T SO!" In the first week on the job, eight people were hired and 4 quit before the week was out. The only ones left were the losers and the rejects which couldn't find a real sales job out there anyway so it was a perfect fit for them.

They try to target good "Missionary" types who are clean cut and willing to work like dogs. They cheat you on the paycheck and just like any other sales organization they have one or two guys who they help to succeed so that they can say.

see, you should also be making this kind of money, if you want it, work harder!" Any real salesperson should not take this job. This is a stupid opportunity and I left it for a job where I am making $78,000 a year and I do get to go home every night at 5 PM and I do get to be with my family and Jasper doesn't treat me like a whipped dog.

Also be aware that Jasper will ship you out to some God-forbidden city far from your home and you don't get to come home and see your family or friends ever again. Their average new rep doesn't see their family for over 6 months or more and if you fail, you are stranded half-way across the country and have to pay your own way to get home. Beware this job since they will fire you if you can't or don't make them their money but your money will always be crappy. I was one of the top sales performers in the first two weeks on the job and over 80% of those jobs sold were never installed so they made great excuses on why things didn't work out but then this same scenario existed for their top sales people too. Jasper will have their people who will write the rebuttles but be aware that this is the truth. You can't sell roofs and make $100k per year on a consistent and predictable basis. You won't get to see your family and you will be living in a one room hotel room for the rest of your life with Jasper owning your "A**" so unless you want to sell your soul to the devil for $8.00 an hour, forget JASPER!

For those of you who are homeless, have no family, no life and have no other opportunity available to you, Jasper is the perfect home for you. You get a truck, paid gas, a GPS, a cell phone (which is their way of owning your life) and a meager pay check every other week.

After reading the pay structure for Jasper Contractors that yield somewhere between $432 and $192 commission on an 8k job (current salesman vs ex salesman's calculations)

its pretty obvious its their salesmen who are getting ripped off.

A normal commission structure for companies that are fair to their people (not giant storm chaser turn and burn types) is 10% overhead then split the profit generally around 50/50. Some companies have paid a 10 percent flat percentage but that method is less common now. On a roof coming in at 250 a square, the commission would 960 dollars.

All day, every day, year in, year out, long after Jasper Contractors has left town.

Jasper and all storm chasers will tell you how amazing they are and to watch out for all other roofers. However, with the little tiny percentage they are paying, it looks like the thing they are the best at is taking advantage of new salesmen that don't know any better.

Companies that travel around have no incentive to be good to their people or care about the longevity of the roofs they put on. Its all about quick money now, and the salesmen and homeowners that use them are the big losers.
