"Dr. James Ruesch" That name is a nightmare to my ears! I'm in a fight with the insurance company on the phone almost everyday and I couldn't get enough sleep at night.
I booked an appointment to his clinic in 5th Avenue after hearing from a friend that they offer free check up. That month my acne was really getting worse so I thought what I heard was a blessing from above. Well, I'm writing this now so I was obviously wrong! I swear I asked them how much will it cost me, check up was free and treatments were up to $150.
I went there with my younger sister last August 7, 2016. The staff were friendly and we were offered free milk shakes while waiting. When it was my turn, I went inside and saw Dr. James for the first time. He's gay. He checked my skin, said it was cystic acne. He prescribed a facial gel that unclogs pores and mumbled how my acne developed. I even asked him how much was the gel and service so I could have an idea but he didn't answer right away and instead led me to one of his staff.
I had my face massaged with a rolling object with small needles. It was impressive and although my face was bleeding a bit, I was relieved.
I thought that was the end of all of it after almost 3 hours but then I met the doctor again and he said that to fully cure my skin, I need 5 sessions. WHAT?! I asked for the bill and the breakdown ended up at.. $420.00! WHAT?!
I complained to Dr. Ruesch and then we came up with a solution (like it was all planned). He brought out an insurance form and said I could use it to pay my bill. I doubted at first but then I had no other choice, I don't have cash and I've no card with me.
And so, to cut the story short, after 2 days, the company started bugging me to pay the additional charges that I didn't know exist! I called the clinic, they said they will take care of it, but it's a month now. I will file another complaint if we can't resolve the issue this month.
Recently, the clinic called me to ask if there's a chance for me to consider the other 5 sessions and I was like... seriously??? What a horrible experience!
