I purchased a copy of MS Office 2010 from iStar Software in good faith and installed it on my new computer. They did provide a validation key within 3 days as promised but when I tried to use it, Micorsoft declarde it to be invalid. When I finally got to a real person at Microsoft I was told that the copy of the software I had been given was "blocked" because it had been validated before on several different computers.
I have had no luck so far in getting a response from iStar about how they will resolve my problem.
I order from iStarSoftware.com over month ago (May 2017) , Installed outlook, no problems - a month later I noticed I was getting failed license - I could not find my License key, contacted [email protected] within few hours, I had my key. On Sunday!!!!
iStarSoftware provided me excellent service. - I would recommend and I would definitley re-order from them again!
I take full responsibility for what happened. I didn't search anything before being drawn by the price being offered for the microsoft office suite. I made my purchase from istar and the download was flawless - it even did an upgrade, which they swear up and down in the q&a their software won't do, that you have to do a full install.
In any case, i didn't research istar until after i had completed my purchase and it was tanks to the original complaint lodged in outscam that i found out about their time limitations on returns - that 2 hour window. While you're completing the purchase, all they keep repeating is that the key will be provided within 3-5 hours, nothing about the 2-hour limit to change your mind.
Given that complaint, 42 minutes later i requested a cancellation of my purchase. I was really hoping that to avoid the cancellation, they would forward the key. In their reponse e-mail they indicated that the key was usually provided within 24 hours Again different from all the info on their website.) instead of offering the key, they actually agreed to cancel the purchase, never even mentionng the key. Compared to the others that have filed a complaint, i actually did get a reply to my e-mails and the credit showed up on my account 24 hours after the purchase.
But, it is my personal belief that this company is not legit, so please don't be sucked in like me and fall for their too good to be true pricing. That should have been the first giveaway)
Contact the iStarSoftware to purchase one year subscription for software. They promptly processed my credit card and send a link to download. I was never able to download the software and could not get intouch with the company. I disputed it with my bank but it seemed that they waited to the very last moment (deadline) to deny the dispute. Definitely a scam.
Went online to istarsoftware.com to purchase MS Office 2016 at a small discount. What I received was a trial download with a counterfeit software key. I had to chase them down (10 emails) to no avail. This company has no published telephone number to call. I would advise anyone looking for software to look some where else. This place is a scam.
I purchased an upgrade for Mircosoft Outlook 2013 on the web page named iStar Software. I was told in the messge from iStar Software that I would receive a key very soon to validate the purchase after the purhcase was made. I have not received the key number, and I believe I never will. The phone number listed in sustomer support is not the phone number for iStar Software. This is a scam!! Do not purchase anything from this crooked webpage!!
I purchased Microsoft Office 16 two weeks ago from this company - iStar Software.
Their scam works this way; they have you download a trial version of software - which anyone can download anyway. You aren't paying for that, it's available for free through Microsoft. You are paying for the product validation key, which enables it to continue working, and verifies that it is a legitimate software purchase. They tell you that you will receive your Microsoft product validation key within 3-5 hours....but if you want to cancel your order and receive a refund, you have to do it within 2 hours. So, before you even know that you have been swindled, it's too late to get a refund.
Two weeks later, still no validation key. I am contesting the charge with my card carrier and cancelling my card because this is clearly not an ethical operation.
Don't bother purchasing anything from this company. Donate your money to a charity, you will get more out of it then you will from this place.
