I purchased health insurance from IMG for a trip to Mexico June 12, 2021. Had accident while on trip and filed covered claim with IMG formally on 6-14-21 using their online claims service (including sending in all required expense receipts) for my claim which was covered by my policy. Claim was assigned and was supposed to be paid out in 1-2 months. on 7-26-21 called IMG and was told claim was being processed.

Called back 7-22 and told same thing and that processing would take 1-2 months. As of 9-13 still have not been paid in three months- spoke with Kim and she said claim was being "escalated". 9-28 called again and spoke to Donna and she said it was still in "processing". I asked for a supervisor and was told supervisor said to call back in 3 weeks.

That would put the process at 4 months. I may never get paid.

Travel insurance was purchased with cancel for any reason option, which required extra fee. The plan states that trips that were cancelled for any reason would be reimbursed at 75% of the cost. The claim was filed and multiple documentation was submitted. The insurance company Itravelinsured), first forgot to open the claim, after numerous attempts, the claim was finally opened.

Requested documentation was e-mailed numerous times. After 1 month, i called only to be informed that the company had denied the claim because they allege it is i who cancelled the trip. This despite substantial corroborated information from american airlines that it is aa who caused My wife and i) to not board the aircraft.

I immediately sent an appeal request to the company - which has a delivery and read receipts, but otherwise not answered. I have filed a texas 60-days notice of intent to sue under the deceptive trade practices act, by fax and by usps crr. Again, no response. Now have filed complaints with indiana bbb and scamion. Nothing will happen short of court, but now a few savvy shoppers will know to avoid this company.

I had a very bad experience in dealing with IMG insurance for insurance reimbursement. It took almost a year of follow-up, escalations and at the end they did not make me whole on my claim. Here are some of the challenges I faced with them -

1. Each time you call, the phone associate gave different information. Seemed like a delay tactic to not pay the clients

2. After a few months they ask you to get the itemized bill from the hospital. They don’t request this upfront, but instead several months, just to delay the payment

3. I escalated the matter to their CEO Todd A. Hancock via email and letter. He did not have the basic courtesy to respond back.

4. I then escalated to their Private Equity Investor and they did not care to respond either.

5. After several months of follow-up again they reimbursement me <20% of what I was expecting. They stiffed me on the fine print.

6. And then they mailed the check in the name of the hospital instead of my name. They then made it my problem to seek reimbursement from the hospital. Now the hospital is refusing to refund me.

What a shame!

Really, Really bad service, unresponsive CEO, poor treatment of client, and they get you on the fine print. I would not recommend using them for your insurance needs. If you would like to discuss my challenges in dealing with IMG further, contact me at [email protected]
