Thieves

  I was given an Insight card with $25 on it as a promotion.  At least it wasn't my own money, that I'd worked to earn.

  They charged my card a total of eight dollars, for a $1.50 purchase.  They charged me another dollar to call and “dispute” the excessive charge, which only got me talking to an agent that did nothing but lie and stonewall, making it quite clear that she had no intention of addressing the overcharge issue.

  As far as I'm concerned, they knowingly, willfully cheated me out of a total of $7.50—$6.50 in excess charges on the $1.50 purchase that cost me $8.00; plus the dollar that I was charged for customer service that I did not receive.

  I guess I got off easy, compared to many of their other victims.  I just lost a part of the $25 that was “free money” in the first place.  I see, from reading other reviews, that they've apparently cheated other customers out of thousands of dollars.

These so called get you check to days earlier is b******* and do they charge you for every little thing as your card is declined is charging a dollar and a dollar use for services and they charge you like $3 use ATM this car is b******* and retarded beware the scam thiz is a bogus way to con people out of money get a real fxxxxx life keep it 100%

I picked up this card at a Quickcash location and use it to make purchases online. I decided to stay at a casino and used the card for a deposit. I waited 2 days after I checked out and did not get my deposit back so I called Insight and was on hold for 40 minutes I also called Quickcash from another phone and they offered to call for me and as I hung up I finally got a customer service rep on the phone and I greeted them but also said I have never spoken with customer service and does it always take this long to answer, I did not get a reply and he asked for info, I complied and then asked when my pending deposit would be back on my card, he did not have a immediate answer, then told me it could take up to 7 days, so I asked why and he did not have an answer for that.

I have been in the customer service industry for over 30 years and was totally aghast that this person did not appear to care or have correct if any info for met, He did give me an 800 number and told me to go the place that i used the card and have them fax the information that I had already checked out of casino and that they released the deposit on there end, I told him that I already did that and that I had to call the debit card company.

I am out $60.00 and do not have any funds on me and I do not get paid til next week , I am sure I will figure it out but I will not dael with this company and hopefully I will get my deposit back soon.

Horrible Customer Service by Insight Card. Part 1.

Are you looking for prepaid card? If yes, do not make the mistake and do not fall a victim of advertisement of Insight Card, sold by Republic Bank of Chicago.

There is a story what happened with me.

Almost 3 months ago I have planned trip to Europe and have decided the prepaid card is a good and secure option to bring some money abroad. So, I found in Internet the "Insight Card". I have visited Tax office ( I believe they are agents of Insight Card) filled up all docs necessary to get a debit card, have paid the funds and thought that it.

No!

They have asked me to come to the same tax office to bring additional docs to activate the card. I did this the same day. The tax office employee has copied my ID and gave me the card itself. She also assured me the card will be accepted abroad and it is already activated and ready to be used!

So, I left to Europe just to discover, the card is not accepted in Belgium, simply because retailers in the country have already forgotten how to use cards with magnetic stripe (POS devices do not even get the mag stripe readers here). The Insight Card doesn’t holds chip, it got only mag stripe.

I returned to US two month later and have tried to login to Insight Card web site. I got a message, my account is not activated and I must to call the customer service phone. I did this, waiting time was 22 min and the girl on the other side told me my card was not activated due to the fact the copy of my ID was "unreadable". She asked me to come to the same tax office and ask its employee to send the ID copy once more time. I did this again, was really surprised they are still using fax (!!!) to transfer the copy of documents.

After some time I have tried to login into Insight Card web side just to learn about my card still is not activated!

I have called the customer service again; they again have charged me $1 for a call (yes, they are charging you every time you try to access them by phone!). The guy of customer center told me, the copy of ID was again "unreadable"! He has recommended me to make the snapshot of my driving license by my smartphone and send to Insight Card by e-mail. I did this and ... o God, I have managed to login in my Insight Card account on the Insight Card web site.

But... this isn’t the end of the story!

I have learned my card balance is still "negative" because funds I have paid 3 months ago to the Bank were not transferred to my Insight Card account (but they didn’t forget to charge me for my calls!!!).

As additional confuse I got two SMS messages, one saying the PIN of my card was changed (I never asked them to do this!) and ... my card was send to my home address by US Post service (I haven't asked them to replace my card!).

The summary of my try to save my money using Insight Card service:

1. 3 months my money have been used by the Bank "free" without paying me any interest!

2. I lost almost 1,5 h time calling the customer service of Insight Card (they do not left you any other option to reach them). The waiting time of response of customer center never been less than 16 min, but one time it has reached 32 minutes!!! Just imagine you are somewhere abroad and local mobile communication provider is charging you $3 a minute!

3. I have been charged $5 for 5 "empty" calls that haven't solved anything!

Currently I am sitting with my phone connected to customer service waiting for the explanation of the custom service girl ! It is already 36 min I am on the phone! I hope they will solve the problem this time!

After loading money on my card, I would make a purchase online, and I would get Declined! and charged 5.00, instead of 1.00 which it claimed it was taking, My balance would go way down, everytime I tried again to repurchase, untill it went through, I counted up how many times I was declined on one purchase, it was 3 times, and cost 15.00!! I don't know how they are getting away with this! I lost half of my money, just making 2 online purchases, because of them automataccly declining me! They never used to do that, I used to love their card, because it was only 2.00 to load, I am not able to call customer service in Alabama, because they charge money for that, if you can believe that! So, I'm afraid to put anymore money on my card, now, today it did it again, so it wasn't just a one day error. It's a scam, Beware!

I was shopping for a way to make international purchase online and was told that the Insight Card had this capability. The cardholder agreement clearly stated that the card could be used for "Foreign Currencies". However upon activating the card and using it, this attribute was negligible. Not only that, the $9.95 monthly fee was never explained, posted or advertised. I was under the impression that I was to pay as I go.

So, now I am trying to cancel the card. I was not able to contact anyone via phone after waiting one hour for someone to pick up the phone. I went to California Check Cashing and told them to get my money back and cancel the card. The gave me my money back, but I don't know if they are going to damage my credit, since the card has an overdraft policy. It has been a nightmare. This must be the leader of all scams.

I'm a poor person going through hardship, who's being taken advantage of, by this bogus bank card company! My phone that I need in order to work, broke down a few days ago. I thought if I paid my old phone company the money I owed them, then I could go back to their services, using my old phone. When I found out the hard way, that I wouldn't be able to go back to my old phone company, regardless of paying them the fee I owed them, I called and begged for them to return the money, since I need it to survive. They said the money would be put back into my bank account, right away.

I went to my new phone company, with the intention of buying another new phone, so that I could go back to work. The transaction was unsuccessful, saying they could only charge me for $68 and not the entire price, for a new phone. Shocked and confused, I went back home and checked my account transactions online.

When looking at my card transaction history, it was showing that I had $0 funds! Insight card didn't put back the money my old phone company returned to me. They also charged me $68, from my new phone company and still haven't updated the amount for an item I returned, from Amazon.

It's been a few days and I'm still showing a zero balance on my account. I need money to put gas in my car, get a new phone to go back to work and to eat. Insight card services is taking advantage of a poor person like me, hijacking my money and not updating the funds in a timely manner! I don't even know if I'll ever see my money again and I can't even contact them for answers, in a timely manner.

They have a customer service number, that charges you $1 to accept your calls. Once, when I needed to dispute another transaction, I called and after waiting a good 40 minutes to talk to someone, I got hung up on and was charged $1! I had to wait 9 days for a response via email.

Insight card charges you $1 for every purchase, on top of the $5 per month fee! What kind of a card service/bank account, does that? Is this even legal? This company just takes advantage of poor people, left and right. Do yourself a favor and stay far away! I have never gone through such a devastating ordeal with another bank. Now I'm stuck broke, unable to work and unable to even eat!

If there's ever a class action law suit, I want to be part of it! If there's ever a lawyer that wants to contact me for any reason, please feel free to do so. This company is a sham and needs to pay for causing so much distress in my life and in others lives. They shouldn't be allowed to get away with this any longer than they have.

From the day you load money on your prepaid card, Insight prepaid Visa card will find a way to charge you a fee. For each transaction is $1.00. However if it's a domestic fee it's a $2.00 fee. They charge you $2.00 to $5.00 to load YOUR MONEY onto the card. If you would like a card with your name or lose your card and need a replacement, it's $9.95. They find a way to lock you out of website so you have to speak to customer service so they can charge you $1.00. When you call customer service you will be on hold a minium of 15 minutes. Everytime I call it's over 20 minutes. On Dec. 22, 2016 around 1pm. I phone 4 times, on hold more than 30 minutes each time. Hung up after 30 minutes due to no answer. I was still charged $1.00 each call even thou nobody answered the call. Today I was on the phone 32.27 wait for customer service to answer, they never did. But if I look on my statement they charged $1.00. I believe this may be grounds for a class action suit,

I really don't know why I stay with this company. Their customer service is the most pitiful thing I've ever seen! Not only do they charge you a dollar every time you try to talk to a representative, but then you're forced to be on hold for about 30-40 minutes and you still aren't able to talk to anyone!

Insight charged me decline fees when the whole amount plus extra was available. They have money pending for wirhdrawal and the store shows declined! I loaded 350 when i called to check bal. It said 337 due to past declined transactions that were never made. I call the number and no one answers unless you wait an 8hr shift for someone to pick up. They have received over 40 dollars of my money pocketed by them with the excuse of fees. Im currently on hold going on 45min waiting to see where my money went!! Dont trust them.. They scam and lie!!!

I ordered my boyfriend one of these insight cards, we received it in about 10 business days and gave the card information to his employer. So come payday nothing was on the card. Finally around 3:00 I called to find out why his money wasn't on his card they told me they couldn't tell me why it was canceled but they returned any money that was loaded onto the card to the sender so now I have to wait for a papercheck for my boyfriend I was with them to but I changed cards they always were posting late. I will never go with this company again.

Every time I have a problem with my prepaid card I call the customer service number to only get an answering service! It's completely impossible to talk to a real person! I've tried every number I could find and it's still the same Bullshit! I'm tired of having constant issues with this card and there's no way to resolve anything because there's no way to talk to someone! People beware of this rip off card! It should be against the law to have a prepaid card like this! No matter what you do make sure you stay away from this company and its terrible service!

I m just agreeing with the other reporter whos post on rip off report so people know that this prepaid card has excessive fees and the instruction they give to get on line are misleading at best and you have to acept the one dollar fee to speak to a human being altougth the recording say if its a self service need that can be handled on line you will be charged 1.00 it goes on to ask do you acept the 1.00 fee to speak to someone so they are very sneaky about this and there web sight does not have any options do you are forced to call then when you csll back and say hey WTF you charged me for a none self service option they put the 1.00 back but after you hang up you just got charged another dollar for calling its a bad card and you will never get ahead of them chargeing you ive made 11 tranaction only one is a atm ive been charged 37.00 dollars in fees and got 15.00 back

A couple of days ago I received a call from my older brother, he was upset and notified me that my mother was hospitalized with chest pains. My mother is a very strong woman and after my father past, she was left to raise 6 children on her own, do she's one of the toughest ladies I've ever seen. My family and I live in Texas and my mother along with my brothers and sisters live in Indiana. We moved to Texas to be closer to my wife's family who I know she missed terribly. I was unable to leave right away, due to lack of funds in my account. I decided to go online and apply for a small loan so that I may leave to Indiana to be with my mother and the rest of my siblings. I was online and seen an advertisement from ACE Cash Express, so I applied for a $ 500.00 loan and was approved in a matter of minutes and was sent an email by the company, saying the funds would be in my account within the next 24hrs. I wrote up the next day started packing with my wife and planning this dreadful trip of continuous fear for my mother. Around noon I called Ace Cash Express and explained I never received the money yet and they in return, explained the funds had need sent early this morning. I called insight and yes the funds were sent to my account but since my name was not on the ACH electronic check, they would not put the money in my account even though they sent it to the correct account and routing number. They will return the funds back to ACE and they should receive it in 3 to 5 business days. I sat down and wanted to scream and cry in anger but I couldn't, my children 8 & 9 could see the hurt on my face and I didn't want them to worry anymore than they should. I explained my situation to several supervisors and said sorry there's nothing we can do, even though I called them around 20 times being and pleading with them. Two days later I got the call I didn't want, my mother had pat away with all of her children by her side except for me. I was so angry, hurt, and in a mess that I really wanted to go postal I that company. Not to be able to say goodbye to the mother that gave us everything we ever needed and prepared all 6 of us for the real world was devastating. As I'm writing this letter and the tears roll down my face. I know my mother had forgiven me for not being there. As for insight, I will not forgive you and I will no longer do business with you every again and if I could stop everyone else also, believe me I would. To the CEO of insight and the supervisors I spoke with, I hope you lose something or someone that hurts you twice as bad as I've been hurt.
