Hugh has scammed me for over $300 in labor to his rental in palm desert. I did the work with him and tenant there. Got signature from tenant stating that repairs were satisfactorily completed. Hugh seemed to have drama and be in court with multiple people for the entire time I spoke with him. He is just not someone you want to do anything with that is not in an iron clad contract with his portion in an escrow account that he cannot manipulate
What an unfortunate experience. My wife and I moved into a property owned by Mr. Wells that we have been renting through the McLean Company. On move in day, we found the house in an almost unlivable state, and spent the first week cleaning. When we submitted repair requests through our online portal with McLean, Mr. Wells would cancel them as he did not want to be charged. In the beginning of October, Hugh requested that we pay our rent to his direct bank account. We contacted McLean who told us to continue paying through their website. He has since left a 3 Day Notice on our door for apparently ruining the property in some way. About a week after that, I found a summons to court for myself, my wife, and our roommate. He has harassed all of us and we have tried to amicably leave the property but he refuses to answer us. I will be in court on thanksgiving because of Hugh Wells.
