VALET TOOK MY BRAND NEW SRT8 CHARGER FOR A JOY RIDE! WHY ME

**BBB COMPLAINT FILED**

A little background: I have waited on a waitlist for 5 MONTHS for this car I currently own. It is a specialty model I make sure to take great care of as I OWN the vehicle. Valet in general scares me. I had no other option and figured oh well its a 4 star hotel.

CHECKING OUT THE NEXT MORNING: While I am in line, far before I see valet or give them my ticket, I see my SRT8 Charger turn into the valet and go up the garage. I COULD NOT believe my eyes. I leave the line and exit immediately and wait for the next valey boy to come back after my srt8 went up. I posted his nametag. I handed him my ticket and asked why my car was just down here? He stutters and looks at me and again I ask WHY was my car just down here? He said oh I grabbed the wrong one on accident.

I tell him FYI I reset my odometer before handing it over. Immediately after that he starts talking to the other valet boy panicking. My car comes down and of course what does the custom trip meter I just made say on it?

RANGE: 0.5 mi ( I DID A FRESH RESET TO 0.0)

TIME: 13:40 (WOW!)

I ask him HOW ON EARTH there is half a mile on it magically and he says oh sir the parking garage is 4 stories it has been up and down twice that's how. I EXPLODE (like anybody else would) there is NO WAY that HALF of an ENTIRE mile was accumulated driving up and down the garage once or twice. That's over 2600 feet buddy and 13 minutes!? WHAT!?

The other valet boy looks at me and says yeah you're right it couldn't have.

After that, John thinks it would be funny to say to me: "Your's wouldn't be my first pick."

WHAT?

"If I were to take one out for a joy ride, your's wouldn't even be my first pick." Implying that this is INDEED a common practice at this hotel. $50 for valet and this is the level of service provided.

I DEMAND to speak to a manager. He first LIES and refers me to someone who wasn't even the manager (another valet boy). After that, the real valet manager comes out and tells me to my face exactly what the SCHMUCKS before him told me and expected me to be okay with it. Why? I'm not entirely sure maybe he thought his button up really makes that much of a difference. I did not have my whole day to deal with this so I took my keys and took off.

I was in touch with the assistant general manager of the hotel, Justin. I told him about what happened to me and he was doing his best to calm me down because I was so irate at the time.He said rest assure Claude, this is not common practice here (John told me it was, above). That's when he went back to OK I will watch the footage and call you back immediately. How could you be okay with your valet speaking to YOUR CUSTOMERS this way? He did not even address his remarks or how he lied about who the manager was initially.

Hours later he calls me back, he tells me he looked at the footage and confirmed that my car never left the hotel property. The half mile and over 13 minutes of drive time was accumulated parking the car and "moving it around because they needed to"

My list of red flags:

1) My car JUST PULLED IN to the lot as I was checking out. I saw it with my own eyes.

2) I reset my trip on my odometer to 0.0 miles and 0:00 time RIGHT before I got out of the car and handed it over (after they declined to let me keep my keys)

3) The valet boy lied to my face because I caught him RED HANDED first about taking the car out then about who the other manager was (he must not have wanted me to talk to whoever was really in charge). I don't know why, because even the real valet manager did absolutely nothing!

So I say to Justin, how is that possible though? It's not. The parking garage is very small and is 4 stories. That is nothing when you think about half of a WHOLE mile being driven and 13 minutes of drive time. I checked in at about 7PM the day before how much moving around of cars could they really have to do? A few minutes and maybe .2 .3 of a mile would be acceptable. I would believe it, but this is just too much for me to shut up. I waited TOO LONG on a waitlist for this thing and paid FAR TOO MUCH for valet at a 4 STAR HOTEL to be treated this was. Justin, I am over being lied to. I would like to come in and see the footage that you're watching since you seem so sure of yourself. He says no but I can send you pictures. What good will pictures do I have half a mile and 13 minutes to be explained how many pictures are you gonna send me!?

He says "Well what's the big deal Claude, are there scratches. Is something wrong? Even if they did take it out, what happened? What's the big deal if they took it for a joy ride?"

THESE EXACT WORDS CAME OUT OF THE MOUTH OF JUSTIN, THE ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER OF THIS 4 STAR HOTEL.

At that point my jaw dropped, I figured I'd save my breath and move up their chain of command. I've never felt so insulted. My vehicle was used and abused for 13 minutes, while I paid $50 to valet.
