Hotel Power Reviews

  • Jul 24, 2019

Booked a room in California a month out had confirmation (5282636) number. When we arrived at hotel in late evening (11:00) found out that hotelpower.com never forwarded the reservation. The hotel was sold out along with all the hotels in the area. No 24 hour answered number to call for problems.

Finally found another place to stay around 1:00 am by driving around. Paid out of pocket for the new room.

Been attempting communication since June for resolution. They say they will get back with an answer and then do not respond. Phone just rings and emails are not any better. Don't use this service.

Don't use hotelpower.com. Even with a confirmation number you may be out of luck and left on your own.

Hotelpower - this company is clearly not about satisfying customers. Their practices are fraudulent and are being taken up with my credit card company along with a formal complaint to the BBB.

I booked a room for 5 nights as I always do each May to be at a convention in Vagas. I have used third-party companies for years to book travel, never any issues. After booking, I received my usual follow up reservation information. Unfortunately, I received a second email day later requesting me to follow up with booking company - my Bad. To many emails on the yahoo account, missed the second email a day later, again - My Bad! Out at Vegas went to check into Bally's - no reservation - What? Finally got through to Hotelpower, really were not planning to do anything - my issue. I stayed calm and requested they find me an alternate room nearby as I have no transportation and was working a convention for 5 days. After a great deal inconvenience, they finally found me a hotel in walking distance, .07 miles to be exact at Buffalo Bill's hotel. When I got off the phone, Bally's concierge assured me Buffalo bills was an hour away not walking distance. Back on the phone to HP I went, again, after 45 minutes, assured, Bally's has it wrong, the hotel is within walking distance, given bogus address on LV strip to assure it was right around the corner. Well, after an hour of not listening to local experts, I realized as Bally's had suggested, Buffalo Bills was on the California border. Called HP back, guy who helped me was gone, I think his wife or sister assured me they would cancel the bogus reservation around the corner and refund my money. Yes, I finally decided to deal with one of the reputable hotel booking companies I has done good business with in the past, and yes, I did get a hotel room next door at the Flamingo for hundreds more than my original booking with the frauds - Hotelpower. Now when I call, I get the "we're sorry" but no refunds, company policy. Everytime I call, I hear house noises, kids, pets, etc. Clearly dealing with one family and they all about scamming and frauding their way. As a result, I will continue to share this pathetic story of how I was swindled out of $187.00 and hopefully save someone else the time and aggravation dealing with lying, cheating frauds that Hotelpower stands for.

FALSE HOTEL ROOM AVAILABILITY

I used Trivago to look for a hotel to book during the golf US open championship this coming June. A hotel was listed that indicated room availability through Hotel Power. I booked at their site. Subsequent to the booking I looked up the reviews on Hotel Power and quickly became concerned around the number of reviews that indicated there was no reservation at the hotel when the customer arrived . I called the hotel that supposedly had rooms and they indicated they did not have my reservation and had no rooms available for the timeframe I needed . After one month and many phone calls to Hotel Power who tried to convince me that I had a room and the reservation would eventually show up I requested my money be returned ( yes they had already charged my credit card for the full week). I am convinced they were scamming me and just wanted to hold onto my money. You have been warned- I would not utilize Hotel Power !

BAIT and SWITCH ----- HOTEL POWER . COM IS A COMPLETE FRAUD....they are ripping people off and refuse to answer what their fees are ...they are showing low hotel prices and then tack on huge "fees" with the tax and will not explain what the "fees" are. Over an hour on the phone explaining that hotel tax in CA is not over $30.00 on an $86.00 room!! They kept putting me on hold for over an hour and could not get to a person who could explain the difference. Just another way for an over seas company to screw Americans out of money, claiming to be based in FL.

SCAM!

I looked for several days at a Holiday Inn in Redding Ca. "Hotel Power" said the price was $86 per night. -- But when I tried to book it - They added $30 in taxes per night. The tax should be $12 and change. I called the company told them the situation -they said the tax was $12 and change and they do not charge anything extra. I had to go to the point of asking the lady to add $86 +12 ....... she still said it was $118! I use online bookings all the time for work - I will never use "Hotel Power" - this is a scam!

I found a good price on a hotel on the TIVAGO site. It led me to the Hotel Power site and there was a "call for availability" sticker over the price. I called the 800 number for the $59 hotel room. It was not available so I agreed to take the next one up they offered that was $79. I gave all of my credit card info to pay and the person then went into a sales pitch about a membership. I declined the membership.

She then said she is very sorry that the room I gave my credit card for was no longer available and the next one at that hotel that was available was $159. I told her. "No thanks" and hung up.

I then went back to TIVAGO and that same room with that same price was there so I called and got a different person who once again tried to sell me the $79 room for which I asked if there was a catch and she said no. Once again the $79 room disappeared when I did not want the membership.
