They have zero service. I bought some services from their website only to find out that they don't work, with very little guidance or help from their part.

After only 2 days, and after so many back and forth messages I decided to cancel and delete my account, when I asked for my refund - which they first told me they had a 30 day policy. They gave me the scamy 'Unfortunately your refund request has passed the refund time frame' How ridiculous! Why are you cheating people! Because of companies like you I cannot trust any other service provider!!!

I was purchasing VPS services from this company and I knew their cancellation policy well. For example, if your billing is on the 15th of the month as you as you cancel on or before the 15th they need to cancel and not charge you for future services.

Well I did that, on the day of billing I sent in my cancellation request and responded to their cancellation emails.

After 2 days I noticed the services were not cancelled and I contacted support. They said they never received the emails so I forwarded the emails to them.

Finally they cancelled my services, but they had charged me over $450 already for services for the upcoming month and refused to refund me even though the mistake was on their end.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. While their customer service might be fast on the website, when it comes to canceling they will play games with you and keep your money at all costs.

There are other complaints about them on the web that I noticed, overall stay way. Their business practices are terrible and they can careless about you as a customer.

We purchased a business web site hosting package from Hostwinds nearly two years ago. Recently, we noticed that important business emails were not arriving at their destination.

When I contacted Hostwinds, they informed me that Hostwinds had decided to block our emails because of an "unsolicted spam" email we sent to a business partner. I explained that the email in question was not unsolicited and that the recipient had actually requested information from us. This was very clear from the body of the email and the fact that we had exchanged emails with this person before.

The tech support person told me that their software was "very sophisticated" and suggested that once they decided something was spam, the only way arround it was to pay them more money each month if I wanted to continue sending email.

I repeatedly tried to reason with the tech support person that this was very clearly not a spam email and that what he was suggesting was extortion. The tech support person responded to every comment saying it would just be easier if I paid them more money.

Hostwinds is holding my business hostage by intentionally blocking my outgoing emails until I agree to pay them a higher rate per month.
