Myself and nine year old daughter live in a one bedroom apartment in what I thought was a nice building 14 months ago when we moved in. Since then we have had several days and nights with no heat or hot water and several days, just no water at all. No posted signs. I have had five mice in my apartment. Disgusting. Roaches in the whole building. Yesterday a pipe broke in apartment directly above me. Water came pouring down into my apartment. I called the super. He never came up. I called again. He said not my problem. He then came up thirty minutes later. By this time water was coming out of my ceiling and down my walls in every room.
My bed got completely destroyed. Obvious water damage everywhere. Had to throw it all out. Everything smells like mold and mildew. Called Hamilton Management Co. Landlord says, well these things happen. So are you going to take care of this for me ? Landlord says, not my problem. And in fact hung up on me. I called him back, he said I'm having a string of bad luck. Never in my life. This happened yesterday at 9:30 am. He has never since even come to look at damage which includes my ceiling over where my bed was that looks about to crumble down.
And now the only one elevator in the building is not working at all. We just had to walk up and down five flights of stairs, it may not sound like much but I don't pay this kind of money to live in a walk up. There are many many old people in this building. It is clearly not safe and an on going issue. Someone please help, this slumlord slithers so he can't be contacted. There is no email on record. And where the rent check gets mailed is a PO Box on my monthly bill that gets hand delivered in my door by a messenger. No paper trails for these slime balls.
