Great Plains Team Reviews

On 2/21/16, we responded to a door-to-door salesman of Kirby vacuum cleaners. After a free carpet cleaning, we decided to make the purchase. We were pleased with the results. The deal of 2 Kirby vacuums with shampoo attachments seemed too good to be true at the time, but we thought we would gift our daughter and son-in-law with the second one. They gave us the vacuum cleaners but we were told that the shampoo attachments had to be ordered and that they would be delivered to us within 7-10 days. It has been nearly a month and we haven't heard from anyone with GPD Promotion Systems, Inc. or Kirby.

The only contact we've had is with the finance company confirming the sale and asking if we were satisfied. We reported to them that we had not received the shampoo attachments as we were promised and we were told that they would make a note of that in their records. We have attempted to contact GPD Promoton Systems, Inc. on the telephone number written on the contract (785-266-2455), but the recording says the mail box is full. There is no website or email address listed on any of the paperwork. We are very disappointed and believe that we made a huge mistake in purchasing this product. We have always heard good things about Kirby, but now we wonder if this is just a very expensive

I want to apologize because I am not trying to be rude. I am just so frustrated at this point that I don’t know what to do for this to be taken care of. I’ve noticed a lot of other complaints for the same company and they were talking about a class action suit which I would be interested in if I can’t get this resolved. This is my experience with GPD Promotion Systems. A girl came up to me as I was getting out of my car and asked if she could have someone clean a high traffic area within 30 mins. She said they weren’t selling anything but in order for them to go to lunch, they had to have so many demos before they could eat. I felt bad for her and told her yes. The next thing I know, 2 guys came to my house. Eventually, 1 guy left my house while the other guy was putting together a vacuum. The guy was there for over 2 hours. He showed great things that this vacuum could do. He even said that I didn’t have to vacuum before I mopped; that the mop would pick up as it went. He made it look so easy. He then went into my bedroom, without asking, and took off my sheets to show me that it could vacuum the mattress. I found this to be quite odd but tried to overlook it. The vacuum seemed to be amazing and I’m sure it is but it wasn’t what the seller said it would be. He didn’t really give me a choice to say yes or no. He just got on the phone and called the loan place to see if I could be approved. He then said for me not to tell my neighbors the price that he got me because he got me such a great deal. But by looking online at all of the complaints and how much people paid, I got ripped off. They have me paying close to $3000.00. Unacceptable when I see that others just had to pay $600. The seller then tells me that if I wanted to cancel that I could call the 800 number on the contract. He never said that I had to cancel in writing and that they had to receive it by the third day. Which, I can tell you that it takes at least 2 days to get mail anywhere. That means I would have had to cancel it the afternoon that I got it. But I didn’t mop until after the 2nd day and found that it leaves soap and water all over my floor! It didn’t do that when he showed me so I trusted that it wouldn’t do that to me. I’ve heard wonderful things about Kirby vacuums but this company has put a bad taste in my mouth with their horrible customer service and unwillingness to cooperate with their customers. I’ve called GPD twice, no response. I called the loan place, I’ve even faxed GPD and Customer Relations Department. Customer Relations just told me that I had to talk to GPD because they are the distributors. I understand about the 3 day cancellation contract but when a customer is not happy with the product after using it, this shouldn’t be so hard to return. It says on the contract that you can cancel within 3 days “without any penalty or obligation”. I told them I would take a penalty or whatever is needed for them to cancel my contract and come and pick up this vacuum. The seller took the vacuum box with him and said it’s just in case it rains, he has a box for his vacuum. He was a great seller but he wasn’t 100% honest and true about what he was selling. I received a certified letter in the mail today saying they refuse to cancel my account because I had 3 days to cancel and that they are sorry that I'm not happy with the product. It says on the letter that they are, "#1 in Sales Volume, Customer Care and Promotion". They do not live up to that name in my experience. I just want to cancel this and have someone come pick it up. What do I need to do next to get this taken care of? The seller said there was a lifetime guarantee. That should be covered under that for an unsatisfied customer because the product does not live up to what it said it would. Next step is to call the Better Business Bureau and I will post my experience with this company on all social media outlets because this is ridiculous and people need to know what they are getting into. I'm sure Kirby would not be pleased to hear that this company is giving them a bad name! Thank you for taking the time to read my case! Buyer beware!! Thank you, A VERY displeased customer… Tiffany
