After a timeshare presentation at Vallarta Gardens in Puerto Vallarta we purchased a travel package for discounted travel vouchers sold as units from GetAway Travel Services. We were told these units were funded by the travel industry in exchange for reviews on the services and products.
We were also told it would take six months to process vouchers. After six months and no vouchers, GetAway Travel blamed it on their Panamanian partner. After months of haggling and asking for a refund all communications stopped. This company is actively fighting my credit card dispute.
After many phone calls I am in contact with several other victims and we are in the process of filing police, attorney general, and FTC reports. Please contact me if you have been ripped off by this group.
Getaway Travel Services did a presentation of a "great" deal of us paying them and getting travel vouchers to use for future travel. We were told that it would take six months before the voucher system was in place. We were told later that the deal was coming from Panama and that their government was underwriting these vouchers and it was taking a long time in negotiations.
After 1-1/2 years and many calls and emails, they just sent us an email offering us 20% refund. There US phone number is in Nebraska but we really don't know who is answering the phone. Anyone have this issue?
