The offer was for a free cruise plus airfare and 2 nights hotel for listening to a 90 minute presentation.

There was nothing free about it. There were fee's and deposits in the beginning and then they continued to require more fee's and deposits. All of the money that I sent was in the form of cashiers checks. Finally, they never sent the tickets and I'm out hundreds of dollars. This company should be shut down and Silverstein should be arrested. I'm sure this is happening to many people. Contact me by email if we can get a class action lawsuit against this guy and his bogus company. This needs to stop.

Fun Time - Vacation Canter - Vacation Scam

This company is scamming people out of thousands of dollars. It is a very well thought out deception. First you attend a vacation timeshare presentation hosted by SOUTHWEST VACATIONS where two free plane vouchers are offered. The word free plane TICKETS are implied and you assume that that is what is meant. The invitation reads two free plane vouchers, but in the presentation it is verbally stated as free plane TICKETS. Plus three days, two nights hotel for two at numerous vacation spots. Again, you assume three day/two night is free. The speaker also verbally states ‘free plane TICKERS’ and ‘FREE hotel’ in the seminar. They hand out colored papers to take notes on and then walks quickly picking them up at the end as if they are cleaning up (removing all evidence of what is said).

SOUTHWEST VACATIONS: At the end of the presentation by SOUTHWEST VACATIONS you are offered a $8500 vacation timeshare program. After you decline they hand out packages for what you assume are your free plane tickets. THE VOUCHERS ARE THE REAL GOAL OF THE SEMINAR!! We are told that the company does not cover taxes and handling on the FREE tickets. Sounds legit, right? So I sent in the $128 to cover the taxes and handling.

TRAVEL CLUB: That is where the TRAVEL CLUB takes over. I received many emails asking for my cruise itinerary and wrong information that does not pertain to my email requests. All of my sent emails indicate that they are for my FREE PLANE TICKETS. Many months pass with this game before I am contacted by FUN TIME to complete my booking.

FUN TIME: I received an email from FUN TIME asking for a handing fee of $25 per person for booking. I overnight my check (yes, I was that stupid) and flight plans with all names included. They finally got back to me after a week (past the time to book the flight) to ask for my passport information and social security numbers. I don’t give it. I realized that I had been scammed at this point!! I am then emailed indicating that yet another company would be contacting me to finalize my booking. I continue to just to find out more about this scam. THEY NEVER ASK FOR EVERYTHING IN ONE EMAIL. They are hoping that you will not notice how you’ve been shuffled around.

VACATION RESERVATION CENTER: This is the next company that you are passed onto for other price. He has several mailing centers to receive the checks. One is at a UPS store at 23219 Stringtown Rd, Clarksburg, MD 20871. There are other addresses that places the company in Philadelphia or Folsom. The travel plans that they quote are the same price that I could have booked myself over the internet. I believe the lead of the reservation center is the head of the scam. He is standing in the front of the photo on their website.

Other scam websites give the name of a travel company in Philadelphia, PA and CA. The guy standing in the front looks similar to one of the guys that logged onto yelps 'Google it' Fun Time travel scam to mock a couple several posters. I checked out his yelps and ONLY notice food yelps. So what was he doing on this site?? Funny that he also lives in a town next to scam headquarters.

On January 25 2017 I attended a "seminar" at a well known hotel in the Sacramento area. I had received a postcard in the mail. After talking with several of the people who were waiting with me, I discovered that some had received the same postcard and some had been contacted by telephone. We had been given different information about starting times etc.

When they finally opened the door they sent away three couples with the cerrtificates that the rest of us would be "given" after the 90 minute presentation. Their reason was that due to sickness they were short on staff and would only have enough people to spend question and answer time with after the presentation.

I was already on alert by this point due to their unprofessional demeanor prior to starting and during the "seminar". As a "widow" I was allowed to attend alone and everyone else had a spouse or the person they cohabited with. That was another red flag that I should have immediately walked away.

Because I really wanted to travel this year I was willing to stay and listen and because I had rescheduled other plans that I had for that evening I requested that they let me stay as I felt my time was just as valuable as anyone else there. The "manager" pulled up a chair and seated me at the back of the room.

Finally after the "seminar" people started to leave with their "certificates" and the first staff person that was freed up came over to talk with me after moving me from my single chair to a table. The cost of $8995.00 quickly dropped to two other "options" the final one being $2995.00. The man was not "pushy" but obviously was trying to "close a sale".

The manager came to our table and said something to the person talking to me very quietly so I could not hear what was being said. I then told them that I was NOT prepared to pay any money without thinking about the offer.

He responded that in California there is a "cooling off" period and that all I had to do was write a check that evening and I still would have time to cancel. Yeah! Right! I strongly said No and asked for my certificates which he grudgingly signed and gave to me.

Thank goodness my credit union "knew" about this company and showed me the information which protected me from sending them two cashiers checks for $200.00 each. I walked away with not sending them money and then being asked for more money after that.

My friend was not so fortunate and sent in her money orders only to find out after I had attended how they operate. She called me to ask if I had sent in my registration and I was able to tell her how my credit union prevented me from being another victim of this scam. Unfortunately they are not returning her calls now so she is apparently out the money.

I am making this report because being a senior and a widow of a veteran and a home owner I don't understand why the government has not shut them down so I am hoping that by sharing this information will "save" someone.

I am an educated and very aware woman who works for over 30 years for the Federal government and even I was almost taken in.

Attended a travel seminar in Sacramento, California conducted by Southwest Travel which came with the promise of free roundtrip air anywhere in the U.S. plus 2 nights hotel and a $100 dining certificate. At the end of the seminar we were presented with a claim certificate to send into to Fun Times Travel of Philadelphia, PA which required a $98 money order payment for processing. One month later I received in return a "Reservation Request" form and a $100 restaurant.com card which is redeemable at participating restaurants that require accompanying cash purchases in order to use small denomination certificates of $5, $10, $25 each. In effect, I paid $98 for $100 worth of restaurant discounts. The Reservation Request form limited travel destinations to five U.S. cities. I decided to bail out of this scam after calling Fun Times Travel where a representative informed me that I would need to send in an additional $296 in fees to cover undisclosed hotel and airline commissions and taxes. This company promotes themselves as a travel incentive company but they are no more than a mill to generate dubious fees and commissions from unsuspecting would be travellers.
