If you risk your belongings with these people you are going to be sorry.
A little history: FT Lauderdale Moving & Storage, AKA Authority Van Lines, is a little piece
of garbage company that has been ripping people off for years and will take your money and
leave you wondering when you will get your belongings (especially if you move out of state).
They use rental trucks because they only have one 26' box truck that's ready to fall apart and
one tractor trailer that has multiple problems and keeps breaking down on the road delaying
their customers deliveries (and sometime they lie about the truck breaking down because they
didn't get the job out as soon as they say they would).
The owner and his son are scammers and they don't care about their customers or their
employees. The guys who do the jobs go out and work hard and then when it's time to get paid
the owner and his son say they have no money to pay them, so do you think you are going to get the
best of their efforts on your move?
Their credit is so bad in this town that they can't even get check cashed anywhere except for
a little store in their home neighborhood where the guy knows them.
The son has a histroy of losing
his temper and has actually physically assaulted several of the men because they asked to get paid.
They have household goods in their warehouse that should have been delivered months ago
and yet it's still there. The 26' truck they have is illegally tagged (it has the son's BMW tag sticker on it)
because they owe tolls of around $6000 on it and can't get a tag for it.
How do I know all of this? Because my husband was working for them for awhile to try and make
some extra money, until he asked for his money this morning and the son beat him up (my husband
has health issues, therefore easy target). The son has anger management issues. Whenever he gets
into trouble though his dad comes and rescues him.
My husband told me that he heard that they were using some of the customers belongings from their storage
in their own homes. I wouldn't put it past them. They have absolutely no ethics.
I have been posting everywhere I can because they need to be shut down before other customers get
ripped off on services or just plain honesty between they and the owners.
