I applied for this an Entry Level Public Relations position with this company and three days later I got a call from the Himan Resource manager asking if I'd be interested in coming the following day for an interview. I agreed and was then sent an email to confirm the appointment. Neither the email nor the phone call confirmed the position that I would be interviewing for but I figured it would be the one that I had applied for.
When I met with the hiring manager he had me give him a 30 second pitch on why I should be hired. I explaine dmyu intersest in public relations and that it is the only thing that I would want to work in. He breifly described the company's background but only mentioned that the position that their looking to be filled is that of a manager, someone that can lead a team. I was advised that if I was selected for the second-round interview I'd recieve an email notifying me.
Three hours after the interview (around 6:30 p.m.) I recieved a phone call informing me that I had been selected for the second and if I'd be able to come in at 9:15 the next morning. The follow up email informed me that it would take place from 9:15 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and that I woul d be shadowing a top representative of the company so that I would be able to gain a little more insight into the position.
When I arrived at the office the next morning I waited for an over before being called in to the office. While waiting many strange characters continued to enter and leave the office. When I was finally called by the hiring manger he introduced me to Max, one of the company's top respresentatives. Max introdiced himself to me and told me to follow him. We left the buliding, met up with two other employees, walked to a sketchy parking lot and go into an old Honda Accord.
They drove me all the way to West Flager and we parked in an old strip mall. Once there we went into various fmaily owned businesses and asked the managers if they were interested in signing up for Comcast's services.
The Human Resources manager, hiring manger nor Max every mentioned that we would be soliciting comapnies to sell them Comcast's services. Luckily, I was able to have a family memeber pick me up before lunch.
The company is decieving, as they did not disclose that the position involved door-to-soor sales. They also made me waste time and money because I had to call in sick to my job just attend the interview.
