Five Star Engines Reviews

Five Star Engines rebuilt an engine for us. However, we had to pull the transmission and the transfer case back out of the vehicle twice because of the poor workmanship. I had to delay our customer for 2 more weeks. The rear main seal was installed crooked. I also have pictures and video. Also, the center cam plug on the back of the motor was leaking. Also, the top left cam plug was stripped out in the block. We also had to install a 2nd rear main seal that we purchased. This is not five star engines, this is negative five stars!

Very poor workmanship and they were also a week late on delivery time. I am requesting a refund of $1174.00. Also, the owner of the Five Star Engines came down to the shop after FIVE phone calls to his shop. No one at the shop knows anything at all! He got into an argument with Advanced and left. He stormed off and did nothing!

I have a serious problem with a local engine rebuilding shop in glendale arizona, that re-sold me my parts that were on my engine, and i have all the receipts. The glendale police department are currently undergoing an criminal investigation along with the arizona department of revenue criminal investigations.

My new engine looks and runs like junk, leaks, makes valve train noises, electrical wires not hooked up, oil sensor light on, ford red fluid in a chevy green fluid car, burnt up a new ac delco starter by not wrapping to keep the headers heat away, my new intake and other parts look like they were drug behind a car, chipped my custom paint, and have black overspray paint on it from something else.

And on and on. Plus this shop even charged me for (2) two $70 dollar oil changes and didn’t collect a single penny of sales tax on anything.

Plus five star made home-made motor mount brackets that they welded to the frame and are not asme code. This part is an over the counter part and is a bolt on, not a weld to the frame. From my conversations with jeg’s speed shop and others, this engine might rip them out and could cause a wreck. These parts are bolt on and cost under $70 from jeg's and i was charged $250 for junk that misplaces the drive train.

As i requested verbally and in writing several times, i wanted all of the parts that were removed from my 1968 chevy mark iv 402 cid engine boxed and returned.

Bought a 383 TBI engine had oil leaks in the timing chain cover and intake manifold gasket cover by the distributor cap. Owner Chris Smith said send him the bill but he said he never got it haha don't try and it's from them.
