Finest Movers Reviews

  • Aug 26, 2015

I wish I had read all the negative reports about Finest Movers, Inc. before I got sucked into this mess. Instead I checked their corporate status in sunbiz.org; Better Business Bureau and did a google search. BBB has them listed at A+. The google search revealed a list of the best moving companies in south Florida. I called the first name on the list. That company referred me to Finest Movers.

I communicated via e-mail ([email protected]) with Greg, who was very informative and e-mailed an inventory list form that I filled out and returned. He said it would take five to seven days to travel from Key West to north Idaho. He was extremely prompt and communicative. The "Binding Moving Estimate" was for $11,292.05 with a reservation deposit of $3400.

They were a day late when they arrived at my home in Key West to pack up the furnishings because the truck broke down. The truck was an unmarked old tractor/trailer identified on the door as "Moving Services Group" from Hallandale, FL. They packed up everything, but couldn't fit it al on their truck. They then, couldn't start the engine and charged the battery until it finallly started. Another truck arrived the next evening and packed up the remaining items.

I just found this on mymovingreviews.com

Review on Moving Services Group

Rating: 1 Star Moving Rating , Posted by Kristen on Jun 11, 2015

Everyone, do not believe all of these good comments for this moving service. I and many others were tricked into writing a fake five star review on the promise of doing some PR work and getting paid. We weren't even paid. Do not trust this company with anything. They are not only liars and padding their reviews, they are probably terrible movers (if they need to do that) and cheapskates to boot. Ignore all reviews that are positive.

Again, I wish I had found this before I entrusted my furnishings to them.

I flew back to Idaho hoping I would arrive before the furniture. I heard nothing and called after a week. My calls went to voice mail. Finally, I had someone else place the call for me and Melissa answered. I spoke with Melissa who transferred me to Julian, who informed me that the company had 21 business days to deliver the furniture and the driver would call me 24 hours before his arrival. He was extremely rude and kept saying over and over, "You should have read the contract."

Tomorrow is the 21st business day. I called this morning and Julian actually answered the phone. He simply said your property is still in our warehouse. I reminded him of the contract's "21 business day provision" and he simply repeated "your property is still in our warehouse". I asked him when it would be in transit and he said he didn't know when or if it would be in transit. He also said he didn't know why it was not in transit, whether it was equipment problems or something else. I responded that he knew damned well why it wasn't in transit and he didn't respond. I asked when he intended to call me and let me know it wasn't going to arrive per contract. He refused to respond. It went on like this for 10 - 15 minutes. Finally I hung up and contacted the Broward County Sheriff via e-mail. I haven't heard back from them yet, but I'm hoping they can help.

I am of course extremely frustrated. I have no expectations of when, if ever, I will receive my property. To date, I have paid them additional money for a total of $10,946.65 and they expect (if they get here, at all) an additional $7,513 in cash, money order or cashier's check upon delivery.
