We hired Shane Davis to install a fence around our property on 8/30/16 and left him a $4,500 deposit. We delayed the installation because we had a storage shed installed. Once the shed was installed, we let Shane know we were ready for the install and we wanted to make some modifications to the original contract. He agreed and said he would let us know when he could come out to install.
For the next 4-5 weeks, I attempted to call and email Shane nearly every day, leaving several voicemails, trying to get a date on when he would come to install the fence. He did not return ANY calls/emails/texts etc, but he had plenty of time to post new ads for his services on craigslist.
After fearing the worst, I started researching his company more and reached out to people on Facebook that appeared to be associated with him. One person ended up being his wife, who responded to me and told me this wasn't the first time this has happened, apparently Shane has tried to scew other people over before.
Shane then found out about this conversation and called me screaming over the phone. He threatened to "snap my neck" and that I had messed with the wrong "country boy". He also threatened to send his friends over and that they would "drag me out into the field and beat me until I don't wake up". I calmed him down and explained my concerns with his communication, and he gave me his word that he'd get back to me on a date to install the fence. I immediately reported the threatening call to the local sheriff's department.
I then let Shane know that I don't want him or anyone associated with his business on my property after the threats that were made and I demanded a refund of my deposit. He of course refused.
I will be filing paperwork to sue with small claims.
In November of 2016, we hired a fence contractor: Gregory Shane Davis AKA Fineline Fence AKA FencemeinTexas. He lied by saying that he had opened permits with the city. Since I had given a large sum in advance to start the job, I had to get an engineer to file those permits because he was trying to begin the work without permits. He lied multiple ocassions saying that he had the Permits. I had to get a lawyer to get him to deliver the job on time. We had to send him a letter for Trade Deceptive Practices. He started the work, but showed up once or twice per week. No more than that. It is end of July of 2017 and the work was not completed. Since we were not in a hurry, we decided to give him time. To our misfortune, instead of sending a 20,300 payment, we sent a 200,300 wire. He returned 27,000k. He ran away with the money. The total he had to return was 153,000 (27+20). When we contacted him he told us that he was going to kill the whole family. He was going to send our body in a bag, he told my lawyer to return back to her country. He said that he has a lot of friends and that he was going to watch for us at an intersection to kill us. If something happens to our family, this report is a testimony of how dangerous in this man. We filed lawsuits. He went a filed a chapter 13 to scape returning the money of this theft. There is another report in this website that accuses this individual of the same.
