Walt Haste was a friend we hauled cattle with so we thought we had someone honest to work for. In the 3 months we worked for him, we got paid 3 times. He told us the lady he was pulling for, Terri Manley of Epic Trans, was taking payments out of his settlements and leaving him with nothing left. Found out that was a lie and she had held off doing so to make sure we had a paycheck. Also, his truck broke down just about every week because he never took care of it. He would blow up at us like it was our fault. Expected the repairs done for free because was never compensated for working on the truck either. Was driving in the dead of winter with no heat because the fan was out but never given time to put it in, just wanted the truck rolling. The steering tire was about to blow and he was pissed because we passed on a load to get it changed.
He told us she was mad that we wouldn't run overnight hauls like he did but the truth was he was the one mad we wouldn't. We told him and her that if we wanted to run like that, we would be hauling cattle again. He tried to get the mechanic he sent to our house to fix the starter to take the truck with all of our stuff in it. He also is trying to say he doesn't owe us as much as we claim and we must have run alot of out of route miles. Well yeah, we had to because we avoided the scales because of a smashed driver side window that we got written up for 2 times and in Florida he didn't pay a fine so if we went through the scales, the truck would have been impounded. We even tried to go to the Masons for help getting paid but he's been suspended for not paying his dues. He can't pay any of his bills it seems.
