Equinox Horse Rescue Reviews

  • Jul 24, 2018

I have been aware of Equinox Horse Rescue for some time now. I think the reason Ms. Linglet started the rescue was based on good intentions and her love for Mustangs. I have been following the rescues social media and website to see if it is a rescue that I would want to support and send money to. I have also attended a handful of the functions they have put on to earn money for the Mustangs. Sadly, it does not seem that this is a rescue that I would feel good about supporting. They seem to be taking in a lot of Mustangs and I have not heard of any, except ONE who has been adopted out and that was to a board member and now it has been returned to the rescue. There are several that are "in a 30 day training program or Boot Camp" seems like that 30 days has been several months. They are consistently asking for funds to pay for hay, vet bills, feed and farrier. If the rescue is that desperate for funds they should stop taking in horses. It seems to be a small rescue that blew up way too fast. In my opinion they have more horses then they can handle. Reminds me of a mini High Caliber Rescue and some of us know how that ended.

The board members have fun interacting/playing/showing off the horses and from what I have heard and seen, they do try and interact with them on a semi consistent basis. Ms. Linglet claims to be a Massage Therapist for animals and she also claims to be able to communicate with them. Really? Seems to me that she tells people what they want to hear and happily takes their money. Ms. Linglet also claims to be a Mustang "trainer". If she is a trainer then why aren't there more horses getting adopted out? She also has someone on her board named, Sarah who claims to be a trainer. So with two trainers on the board and a real trainer who volunteers her time, why are no horses being adopted out?? I have seen Ms. Linglet working with horses and I believe she is very heavy handed and gets a bit to “Physical” with the mustangs/horses. I disagree with her “training” methods, but that is a personal choice I make not to be heavy handed with horses I come in contact with.

As for the Facility, the pastures the horses live on are not cleaned consistently. The facility where they board is run by Chris Libs, who has made it clear to many people that have boarded there, she could care less about the horses. All she cares about is the money the horses bring in so she can focus on her dogs. It’s also interesting that there are personal horses belonging to some board members that live in the pasture with the "Adoptable" Mustangs. I feel like this wouldn't be a big issue if they were actually training and adopting out horses...but they aren’t, from what I have seen. So it’s just a cover to not only have their personal horses/mustangs but to have all these other mustangs as well and have the public foot the bill.

I have been told that they FINALLY have one Mustang up for adoption as of this week...let see how long that takes. I understand that they took in a mini horse a few months back. It was going to be trained to go to retirement homes and hospitals to help cheer people up. From the facebook page they have for this mini as well as the rescues main page, I don’t see any of that going on. I see him being available to go to Birthday Parties for a fee. Weird how an animal that was given to the rescue on the basis it would be used as a therapy pony and is supposed to be used for helping sick people is now a party favor.

The bottom line is this...I don’t think this is a responsible rescue. I don’t think they are spending the donations that come in wisely and I feel they have way too many horses then they can handle. I would not recommend that this be a rescue that you choose to donate to until they make some drastic changes. Ask to see their books so you can see how they are spending the funds. Obviously, this is just my opinion and observation. However, I do know that there are other people that feel this way and have expressed these concerns to me. There are several people that do not like or trust Ms. Linglet because they have been taken advantage of by her. I say after you have done your research and if you feel like they are a worthy rescue..then donate after all, some of that money will go to the mustangs. I will choose to donate to a rescue that has a track record of actually saving lives and adopting out.

As with every bad review there will be people that say none of this is true and gush about the rescue and Ms. Linglet. Again, this is my opinion and I know there are several people that feel the way I do. I am not exposing my identity because I have seen how Sandrine goes after people that disagree with her and her mothod of doing thisgs. I have small children in my care and do not wish to deal with her "getting back" at me for simply expressing my opinion.
