I concur with report #1296861. They called claiming to represent Marriott and offered a free 5/6 all inclusive resort stay. They also added a 7/8 cruise PLUS another all inclusive 4/5 resort stay. They pointed me to a generic website for "Distant Palms Vacations" with very little information. They recorded me approving the deal and then when I got the documents through email, there were many discrepancies. I did an internet search on their phone number and found it connected to Priceless Times, a well documented scam company. Fortunately, Citibank was on it and reversed the charge when I called them immediately. It's all a scam, hang up on them!!

I was promised an allinclusive resort with full kitchen room instead I got a hotel room. I was told $99 to make the reservations and I paid $120. The resort did not have a lot of amentities for the resort feeees charged. It was under construction. The 90 minute toour was 3 hours and I was promised a free cruise certificate for 2 adults on any cruise line and any category with only a $99 reservation cost and $100 per person to add to the cruise with no terms and conditions mentioned. instead I have to do the following and I dont see how this is a free cruise and any different than kjust booking one.

On 3/25/16, I received an automated call from the Marriott offering a 5 night stay. To know more about the deal, I had to press 1 and I did. i trust the Marriott. i was then transferred to an agent who said taht my number was shared with them by the Marriott and that they were an affiliate. They offered two 6 days 5 night packages at various destinations for $999. I initially declined until they explained that they offered a payment plan and a 30 month open window to plan my vacation. The deal could even be transferred to family or friends.

I accepted to make one payment of $299 and signed a contract for a three month payment plan (for three $233 payments). On 3/28 another charge of $578 was processed without my authorization. I demanded a refund to my creditor and a cancellation. Distant Palms Vacations gave me the runaround and instead offered other deals too good to be true.

At this point i proceeded to report them. I did not even receive the required passwords to access the vacation planner on their website. The initial form requires information about income and occupation for travelers - none of it require to make hote reservations.

We received a phone call from Kayak telling us that we had won a free 5/6 all inclusive resort in Cancun, as well as a 8/7 Caribbean cruise. They said that each family was receiving a phone call and if they answered then they won and that all we had to do was be sure to post on social media that Distant Palms Vacations sponsored us. Lucky us!

We were excited, but while my wife was on the phone I began searching the internet for any indications that this could be a scam, especially since none of the names were matching up. I found multiple reports of people informing about this scam, right as they switched my wife over to the "supervisor." He told us that he had a girl with the same name as my wife and that he was from a small town not too far from her home town. They were pretty convincing about getting a credit card on file and that it wouldn't be charged until later and only with our authorization.

My wife gave them our CC information right as I got a call from Chase bank alerting us with a fraud alert. The (fraudulent) phone caller told us that the transaction of $344.23 didn't go through and asked us to approve it through our bank, so we put them on hold while we researched more online. We didn't approve the Chase alert and when we got back on the phone we told them that we were aware that they were a fraud and they became fairly hostile and rude. Their last ditch effort was to tell us that we were selected winners and that we would be missing out on it, but we told them no thanks. But we did give thanks to you, Internet, from saving us from a $700 scam!
