A few days later had some personal.issues and tried to back off. She tild me to hold off a few days and not make any rash decisions. She then took a SECOND payment from me. The conditions of the agreement were: If I send a deposit for a dog. Was told $500 holds the dog. I did say making the rest of the payments is not an issue as my husband makes good money and is paid weekly. Aug 3 I send $500. August 10 I sent $400 more. It was told to me on several occassions and I quote "Everything is fine as long as final payment is concluded by sept 15 as I have an obligation" Then because one week I did not send a payment she backed out and is keeping my money. SC civil statute states if a verbal agreement is broken, the breeder cannot list the dog until AFTER the original date of final sale agreed upon (sept 15) So if this is done l can and I will sue for up to 3x the value of the dog, any future potential earnings of the dog as well as court cost and travel fees.
But she has a degree in contractual law (ordinarily called tort and contract law) so she should know this. Hence my message yesterday. DO NOT BUY S*** ONLINE WITHOUT A SIGNED CONTRACT. Its a sad day when someone hurts for money so badly they literally steal from a mother of 2 special needs children. I am not the only one hurt over this. Probably going to piss a lot of her friends off. But i have spcreen shots if anyone wants to lcall my bluff.
