Custom Dog Training Thee Boarding Ranch Reviews

  • Oct 20, 2018

I take no pleasure in writing this review. It is with an incredibly sad and heavy heart that I find the need to write this; no one should ever have to experience what my family experienced here. My dog Daisy, a four pound Chihuahua, was killed at Thee Ranch Custom Dog Training under Carlos and Shirley’s watch. We sent our three rescue dogs to Thee Ranch to help with some obedience training. Carlos said it would take a minimum of three weeks, if it takes longer then they keep them until they are ready. After 8 weeks of being away we went to visit the dogs. Daisy and our other dogs, were very lethargic, and had lost a lot of weight. They said it was just from the heat. I thought to myself that I should bring Daisy home right then as she seemed most affected. This is the moment I will regret forever, not taking her home right then and there. Carlos told us Daisy would be ready to come home in two more weeks. And the other two dogs needed another four weeks!

Two days before Daisy was supposed to come home, we received a phone call from Carlos saying Daisy had died. Carlos said he was in the little dog enclosure with her and as he walked out of the enclosure, she must have followed him without him realizing it. He then walked over to the big dog enclosure and entered, and Daisy followed him in, again without him noticing. Daisy was then supposedly attacked by the big dogs and killed right there. This is pure neglect. How do you leave one dog area, open and close the gate, walk over to another dog area that is not close by, open and close another gate and not notice the whole time a dog is following you? Carlos calls us with this story, doesn't offer to refund her training costs and doesn't offer to send her things (collar and blanket) back. We demanded he bring our other two dogs home right away. We were in complete shock and horror. Carlos and Shirley were not sympathetic at all, they kept calling it ‘the situation’ rather than owning up to their own negligence.

After grieving and processing what happened we did ask for a refund, just for Daisy, even though they should probably have given our money back for all three dogs. We also asked that Daisy’s collar and blanket be returned and for some documentation be provided that showed Daisy had in fact been cremated as Carlos had said he would take care of this. At first, they said they would give a partial refund and it would take two to three weeks. They finally agreed to a full refund for Daisy. Approximately eight weeks after Daisy was killed at Thee Ranch, and after many unanswered emails and voice messages; we received the refund. Carlos also brought Daisy’s collar. We did not receive her blanket back or any documentation of her cremation.

I trusted Carlos and Shirley, but I can tell you first hand they are not worthy of anyone’s trust. I hope my story will help so that another family does not make the same decision that we did. I will never have my Daisy back, but I will continue to be Daisy’s voice in helping others not to make the same mistake. Please share and spread this story with any family considering this awful place.
