I've been scammed. I know better than to answer these calls! I was offered a deal to reduce my APR on two of my highest cards to 6.9% or lower for the life of the card. There was a savings of $3,700 and it would not affect my credit in any way. The only catch was the fee of $894 to be split into 5 payments of $178.80. They agreed to let me space the payments out and not make them monthly (otherwise I 1. wouldn't be able to do it, and 2. wouldn't be in the mess I'm in financially in the first place if I could afford the extra $200 monthly payments.) They got me to agree to these terms and recorded ONLY THIS PART of the coversation, and then transferred me to a "financial advisor" to complete the process.

The financial advisor then calls the first creditor to verify balance information, etc. meanwhile she's applying for another card without my knowledge. She then tells me I'm eligible for a $10K credit line with another company with 0% APR for the first year. I argued that this sounded like a simple balance transfer and that I didn't need to pay $894 for something I could negotiate myself. She stated it was a "management" account I couldn't get on my own. It was too late. I couldn't get out of it. THEN when I got the card offer in the mail, it was a 0% for 9 months and then switched to 23.99% interest afterward HOW IS THAT A DEAL?

I called back to cancel, left messages for both representatives I spoke to because I couldn't get through. Then I got a letter in the mail from the credit card company's fraud department stating they thought someone was attempting to open an account in my name fraudulently. I cancelled the card and when CCFS called back to verify I'd received the card (a scheduled call) I told the manager I had not and that I wanted to cancel everything. THEY STILL WOULDN'T LET ME OUT. I guess at this point my only recourse is to close my bank account that I've had open forever and hope for the best. Lesson learned. I hope this gets out to anyone and everyone to avoid others from the headache I'm dealing with. NIGHTMARE!!

)I received a marketing call from a recording that I qualify to reduce my credit card.

)Talked to 3 different people stating they have relationships with lenders/credit card companies where they can guarantee 6.9%.

)They would collect payment after services were rendered (even stating after it reflects on my credit card statement) and even guarantee refund of the money

)They slowly collect the card number you ware interested in for them to negotiate. I decided to give them the AMEX because I had hear on the phone with them to see what magical words they would get AMEX to agree to a 6.9%.

)They also ask for your address and last 4 digits of your social

)Each of the 3 different people kept repeating would I pay for their services (1 time fee spread over 5 payments). I said only if they could reduce to 6.9% and it was in writing from my credit card statement. One of them wanted to record it for my protection and I stated the same..only if my credit card statement reflected the change. By the way, their fee was for unlimited cards.

)As soon as Amex phone service there was a 4 min hold time they wanted to hang up and not be on the phone on hold which I didn't understand. As soon as I started asking for their address and phone numbers and I couldn't take up more time on the phone (been 30 mins now), an Eric Mendez threaten now to collection agency to collect their fees because I said Yes I would pay on a recording.

)I stated services were not rendered and wanted to talk to his manager. I hung up because now I know I was scammed. They called me back several times and left a recording that I will use against them.

)Just Hang up!!

)I called Amex and they are sending me a new card number and will alert their fraud department regarding this company's practice.

)The names of the individuals are Kevin Ferrer (x4805..the number he gave me was out of service), Eric Mednez 866-456-1672 x 618 and George Harris 866-449-6499.

)I'm reporting this company to the New York attorney office and FTC. Also getting a lawyer to find out the real company name and owner.
