I paid the retainer in October 2009 we agreed to a price then he would bill higher. I hired him but he had Gordon Nelson take his place. In retrospect he might have been under penalty and couls not practice law due to other incidents. He was also as penalty was to enroll in AA.
I was not presented with an agreement until January 2010 and it was not as we had agreed. It was not until February 2010 that a corrected agreement was presented. but for 20 months I fought with the Attorney that was suposed to be on my side due to constant overbilling. He would call other attorneys into his office to talk about my case and charge me hourly rates for all of them.
I refused to pay and I monitored every detailed billing on the ledger. I would make corrections and return it with my payment for only the correct amount. But at the end when it counted they allowed on purpose the oposing attorney to get an advantage and them tried to use that as a way to scare me into payint them an addition $2000. I refused and yes it cost me more money latter but I believe they will get their just deserts. This was a form of black mail but the law seems to protect their own. From the Judges to the attorneys it all looks like a big sharade and plot to get more money from everyone that comes in their path. The judges have cost me over $5K in extra attorney fees by draggin my case out. Attorneys love this. it means more money. I wonder if they all just try to figure out how to streatch it every case out.
