My husband & I booked the trip to Costa Rica to start treatment. After sending me to a private hospital for a scan,($100.US) to a private clinic for a special blood procedure in case it was needed, (more $US) and a discussion on what he proposed as treatment, the treaatment started: sinus lifting, (already been done in Canada but according to him, needed to be re-done), implants in the upper/lower jaw and instaling crowns.
While there, I complained of lack of privacy (no closed office, other patients standing near, deliveries being made etc.), and hygiene issues, (people not performing with the doctor were walking in/out, listening to loud music, talking on phones during the procedures) I have all this in writing since it was done by e-mail.
Between 2012 and 2014, we have gone back to Costa Rica at least 3 time: first & second for treatment, and returned for chipped crowns needing repair. In NOVEMBER 2014, we returned to Costa Rica because my crowns were broken. He explained the best Zirconia product installed in the first place was too hard and did not ... give... to leave room for movement. So he replaced it with a regular, ($450 US) and cheaper products that was not so hard. He also suprised me on that visit stating he was no longer paying for transportation when patients went back for repairs!
While vacationing in Florida in FEBRUARY 2015, I noticed 2 crowns in the upper jaw were chipped. So I e-mailed him and asked what I/he could do. His answer was surprising: he said that since I had so much trouble with my implants and I was a difficult patient, I should stay in Canada, a first world country ???, and have repairs done in my own country.
As of now, December 2015, I have two more broken crowns in the lower jaw where implants (posts) are visible AND the upper crowns have loosed to the extent I need to have the crowns redone.
Not counting air fare, lodging and other expenses, I will have spent/been frauded out of nearly $14.000. I now need to have the crowns and possibly the implants redone because of poor work.
My opinion; Dr.(???) Coto is a fraude and a charlattan, his diplomas are fake, I question his training in the US (where he stil has a contact telephone number) and I can forsee no way I can get satisfaction except to know other patients should be aware of this man's fraudulus behaviour and dangerous procedures. He needs to be put out of commission and Aericans & Canadians need to know not to trust him or his personel! I should add that any exchange I made with this man's practice is well documented (e-mails both ways ), billing, etc. It can and will be provided.

After serious research on Internet, I contacted the Implants & Cosmetics Solutions Clinic. I did not speak to the Dr himself but to a person in his office Mr.Olger Gonzales Jiménez. This person, is also the driver who takes you from the airport, the clinic, the pharmacy, etc., explained the doctor's complete training and experience in Costa Rica and in the UNITED STATES, how the clinic worked: transportation was included, lodging (they propose a name & place), garanteed the clinic would repair any problem at any time during and after treatment, and gave references of many patients, one in Canada, for me to call and verify.
