Please stop this company from ripping honest people off. They are online and say nothing about a subscription. They are missrepresnting there product advertising that its made ny Joanna Gains, which it is not. I called to cancell 5.min after reading others reviews and was told they can't cancell any orders. Please don't let this company rip any other honest people off!

I was going to order this produce - completed all of the information. I received several texts indicating that my order had not gone through - haven thought about it further - I did not want to order the products. I never received an email stating my order had been completed or additional information was needed. This lead me to believe the order did not go through.

Several days later, the unwanted products arrived. I emailed them, only to be told I had to call them. I was one day late calling them and I am now being charged an additional $89.97 on top of several other charges: $0.99, $4.97, $34.97...

Customer service was of No Help. I have emailed again the corporate office - at this point I am willing to pay the smaller charges but not the $89.97 charge.

Do Not Order from this company. SCAM.

Later found out that they had billed my credit card for $91.94 and $94.94 for my free samples because I was apparently supposed to retun them in 14 days --another two boxes were mailed out 14days after first and they billed me another $89.97 and $85.97 for the second batch !! Meanwhile I had not tried any of the samples !!

I talked to company repreresentative Janine Johnson and she said to mail everything back and I would get credit! Well I spent $15 to mail back certified insured mail for almost $400 worth of product (these were tiny 1 ounce jars so when I received my first ones I truly did think they were "free samples"!!!)

I started a dispute with my credit card company but after 2 months still had to pay the second batch fees after I had mailed all products back and did not use any! When I talked to Core Skin Care they said they then had no record of anything because I had started a dispute? This is a SCAM! So I ended up paying $175.84 for NOTHING!!

They are a DISGRACE! Sorry I ever answered that pop-up--tempting when you are older and looking for answesr to aging!

These internet offers/promotions MUST be held accountable for misrepresentation.

Around the first of the year, I viewed an online advertisement for skin cream which I thought my wife would like. We both enjoy the HGTV show "Fixer-Upper" and because this product was being promoted as one of Joanna Gaines' new business ventures, I decided to order the SAMPLE being offered.

Being a careful internet shopper I read the offer carefully (several times) and decided to order the SAMPLE for $4.99 which was to cover shipping. On about January 9th or 10th, I received the SAMPLE cream which I was able to gift my wife as a belated Christmas present. She used this SAMPLE for just about 2 weeks when we noticed a new credit card charge for $89.92. I immediately phoned the company to inquire about this new charge and was informed that the trial SAMPLE introduced a SUBSCRIPTION for which I would receive this cream monthly. I explained that I did NOT request a subscription, had NOT received a subsequent order of the skin cream, wanted my account cancelled and payment of $89.92 refunded immediately.

The automaton marketer explained that I had not cancelled my order within the required 15 days (this was on day 15) and, therefore could only offer a partial refund and began offering other special discounts.

Needless to say, a heated exchange ensued with me repeating that I never 'subscribed' to anything, demanding that any existing 'subscription' be cancelled and the charge of $89.92 be refunded immediately. I am currently waiting to see if the subscription is acutally cancelled and if my money is refunded.

It would be a great disappointment to learn that Joanna Gaines is a knowing participant in the 'bait and switch' scheme. If not, then the company behind this nasty little game is misrepresenting their product both by exploiting a well-liked and respected TV personality AND by misleading consumers with a "Free Trial offer containing a non-disclosed, over-priced subscription fee.

BEWARE! FREE SAMPLE IS NOT FREE

This product does not work at all and, (Core Skincare) is not safe, as I got a very bad rash and had to go to the Dr.

The company told me I couldn't return the product (even though I haven't used the 2nd "auto" shipment) I packed up the jars and returned them to the company's Buffalo, NY address with my cancelation number on it. I have filed a unauthorized charge on my credit card. It's one thing to make a bad product that is harmful, but to charge my account and tell me I cannot return the product -- that is criminal.

Con Artist they adv product for S&H $10 and then mail an subsequent order w/o your permission billing you $86 and won't refund or allow returns. I'm following up on this!

I have contacted them they will not do anything In youch with credit card company now.

  • Jun 10, 2017

I called June 8th to stop future shipments. I received a cancelation confirmation number for both products. The next day I received an email stating I am receiving a shipment. I called the company to ask about their return policy and they told me i could not return the product.

Core Skin offered free trial for $.97 before free product rec'd my bank account was charged full amount for products $89.96 and $89.97. I emailed at core skin customer service and cancelled any account they had in my name and asked to return product and not to ship any more product. I have not received any more product but my bank account was charged again today for the same amounts. I have cancelled my debit card to prevent any further charges and if any product is received I will Refused it and return to sended. I feel this company owns me $359.86. I will try all methods to get in contact with them. If your company has any contact information you can share I would be appreciated.

I bought the sample trail core cream product.

I did not realize they would charge me for my trail samle for $94 after having paid the trail sample price of $4.99.

I called them and was very upset and asked them why they would automatically charge my credit card for something I did not order.

I asked them to put the money back into my account but they said no....I want that money put back in my account. It put me in overdraft.

Add on Facebook for Core Skincare on Shark Tank. Ordered two samples for $10. Was charged three weeks later for $180, for two products, skin care and eyecream. Realized I had been taken for the sample price. Did not realize I had signed up for a recurring payment of $180 until next charge. Called to cancel the recurring payments then received a package in the mail. Called to return the package and they will not accept returns of any kind, even though I did not open the package. They are not in the business of selling facial care products. This is simply a shakedown to see how much money they can get. I would like to be part of a class action to get them stopped.

I went on-line and order the "free" skin cream. After I placed the order I seen that the order showed that I had ordered all 3 items face cream eye cream and moisturizer. I searched the web site for a number I culd call to correct the order but there were none. The next morning I recieved the actual order email and ther was a phone number. I called immediately and the connection was lousy at best and I had to keep asking to repeat what they wer saying. I told her I only wanted the face cream. She told me that she canceled the other two and I would only be charged $4.95.

I received the box today and all 3 items were in the box. I called the C/S again and this time I got all kinds of attitude from the rep. I told her that the order was changed and I was only supoose to be getting the face cream. She told me that they have a no return no refund and that they had the recording of me stating that I authorized buying the expensive eye cream which is over $35, I ask if they could play that recording but she no and then I asked to speak to a supervisor and she then repeated the no refund etc. I kept asking her to repeat herself repeatedly because of the lousy connection but all she kept say was the no return etc.

I saw a complaint on here from another person last year, and I have the same one! Core skin care advertises a trial size container of face cream and eye cream for $10. Then if you dont send it back or cancel within a few weeks you are automatically charged over $90 for the cream every month whether you want it or not. I just canceled my next order and hope they get my message in time, because I will never do business with them again. Sneaky marketing!

I placed ordere for eye care treament and face cream and was charged 5.00 for each bottle as trails. Before my trail was even delieverd I was charged 85.99 for both bottles. when I called to get my money back they said that I had to call within 14days for refund and it was the 15th day, so my card was just conviently charged exactly on the 15th day. I told them I demanded my money back now and she said that she can give mr half back and I said no because I never recieved the trail. Then she says oh it was delievered on April 1oth. A Sunday?? Itold her they are scam artist and she then said she can just her employee discount and give me 75% of my money back. So I agreed to than. Then another week went by and still no trail so i call back and ask for tracking number for the package. To my astonishment the package was never delieved and the person i was talking to was an automated computer set up to respond to certain question. I was so furous. Never Ever buy this trail because they are scam artists and ripps offs.

Saw a Good Morning America clip on my Facebook page, watched the testimonials and "Shark Tank" videos. Decided to try the CORE eye cream. I went along with the second product also, which was a face cream. When the little coupon popped up for the Vitamin C cream, I tried to block it, but couldn't .

When fillling out the order form, there was NO opportunity to remove the $34.97 Vitamin C cream. There was no chance to cancel. These charges appeared on my bank statement within seconds. There were four separate charges, from four different enttities, with four different numbers.

The number mentioned in the complaint on this website, 888-742-8492, is disconnected. I reached a representative, Makea, at 866-845-0115. She does not work for CORE Skincare, but in a clearinghouse.

I stated that I wanted to cancel my order. She said that would be impossible, it had already been processed. This was less than ten minutes after I ordered online.

I complained that there was no mention of this being a recurring monthly billing, and that I didn't want that. Makea informed me that I would be given a number, and had two weeks' time to cancel.

Makea said she could cancel the shipment, but would still charge my account for shipping. I said that was robbery.

The CORE representative said she could give me a 50% discount on the Viatamin C cream, and that half of the $34.97 would be refunded. I was not happy with this arrangement, and said "Whatever", and hung up.

I got on Rip Off Report to enter my complaint and Makea called me back, from a completely different number, 925-241-2648. She wanted to complete the discount of half off the cream I didn't want. I again said whatever, and that she worked for an unethical company. She said there were plenty of opportunities to opt out, but I assured her that that was not true.

These sorts of scams should not be allowed on Facebook, or anywhere on the internet. They use reputable tv shows and celebreties names to convince the consumer that they are legitimate businesses, but they are lying thieves.

I hope that CORE skin care gets shut down, and taken to court for their dishonest practices.

Core skin took money out of my bank account without my consent

  • Apr 12, 2017

Be wary of the fine print. I called/emailed after reading online reviews of the product to cancel my order and received an email that my order was indeed canceled. 2 weeks later two seperate charges were made to my account for 89.00 and 87.00. I immediately called the company to be told that my email only covered one of the products and they would cancel the account, BUT I would not receive a refund on of the charges. Kind of a fine line on fraud if you as me. Poor business practice to say the least.

As other reports have said standard bait and switch, try the product & pay shipping only but they dont tell you that you have to cancel with in 14 days, or you will find yourself out of 175.00!

  • Apr 11, 2017

Advertised free trial, just pay shipping and handling. Can cancel your order, get your money back, etc. Nope, they charged my account $91 plus on the first. I called a few hours after gettng the email they had billed me. They said in email to notify me that it had shipped. Indeed they did not. I got it the 5th.

I thought I was getting free samples and ended up with a subscription to be billed monthly. I had carefully read everything and didn't see anything concerning a subscription. This is unlawful use of my credit card.

When I called twice(once on 1st and again when product arrived), I got the same run around. They don't refund money, or take product back. I asked repeatedly to speak to a supervisor and she would not get on the phone with me.

  • Apr 11, 2017

After trying trial offer I emailed company to cancel any future orders. I did not like product n did not work. They sent me the face cream and charged me 100$ for crap and told me company has a no return policy. So I'm stuck with junk n out 100$.

  • Apr 11, 2017

Ordered free trail samples of eye cream and skin cream for $11.95 for s/h. Product was ok but could similar product at CVS. Decided not to reorder. On going over my checkbook noticed they took off the $11.95 and recharged me $175.94 for the products!!! Called company and the said after 15 days the y charged the full price since I didn't cancel. Didn't realize I needed to cancel. They would not refund my money; said I had agreed to "the terms and conditions".Don't ever order free trial samples. They rip you off big time. Is how this company makes their money and is this how Shark Tank help companies make money. Shame on me and shame on them. As my dad used to say " there is no free lunch".

  • Apr 7, 2017

I purchased the supposedly,'free trial' from this company, and on day 14, I called to cancel my subscription in their program, and they told me I'd waited too long and my 14 days were up,so my card was charged $87.95 on day 14. I began arguing with them saying that this was only day 14,and they needed to refund my money back to the card. They told me that was not happening because I agreed that I'd read the terms and conditions. So I'd ordered the free trial on the 22nd of March,2017,received product on the 24th,and was cancelling on April 5th,2017---14 days later.I told them that even if I ordered at 11:59pm on the 22nd,that was still Day 1...so the 14 day trial ended on April 5th at 11:59pm,and I was not late cancelling.

  • Mar 27, 2017

I ordered a trial size of skin care cream and paid for shipping. At the end of the online form, the ad said it was best to combine this cream with another. I was not given the option to take or leave that second cream. I assumed, wrongly that I would be sent only the one I ordered. I received both in the mail. I should have contacted them about having receive the second one, but since it was a sample size I didn't think much of it. Now, almost 2 months later, I woke up to two bills for a total of over $180. I called immediately. They said since I had not canceled with them I was going to receive a shipment every month. (It's been almost 2 months since I ordered, so that part is inaccurate. Not that I wanted the subscription to begin with. ) That subcription information was not in the ad itself. I checked pretty thoroughly. Usually companies are out in the open about that, saying that if you don't cancel within a certain amount of time, you'll receive automatic shipments. Apparently I missed it. But they charged me for both items that they sent, One was $94.94, the other was $91.94. If I made a mistake with the first that's my responsibility. But I never ordered the second one. Never checked any boxes, never said add the section item, nothing. At the very least, I want a $94.94 refund on the one I didn't order.

  • Mar 22, 2017

I signed up for 14-day trial of Angelina Jolie's skin care, Core Skincare as advertised online. I missed calling to cancel by one day and was told I would have to pay the full price which had already been charged to my bank account. After much haggling and anger, I was told the most they could do is give me a 35% discount which would be refunded with 5-7 days. I thought I was paying for the next shipment but come to find out, I was paying for the supposed Free Trial. So I ended up paying $125.30 for a product that doesn't do anything. I'll stick with Oil of Olay. I wish I had looked them up before agreeing to purchase. Live and learn the hard way.

  • Mar 20, 2017

This company advertised a product trial sample for, $4.97, what they didn't tell you is you are being suckered into a more expensive set of products, I called and spoke to a customer care employee, and was told I could not get a refund, because the product had already been shipped, I have never heard of any company that would do this, and mind you this was on Shark Tank, I guess that show rips people off too. AERT,ALERT

  • Mar 17, 2017

I bought a Free Trial of Core skin care moisturizer when they claimed to be the Shark Tank hit. Website said "Free Trial" just pay shipping and handling. It was not free at all! They charged me the $4.95 shipping and handling AND $89.95 two weeks later! When I called to get a refund and return the product they said that is not possible, they don't want the product back and would not refund my money. DO NOT BUY this product or any product from this company. It's a SCAM! Once they get your credit card they charge away!

  • Mar 15, 2017

I ordered the sample for the anti-aging skin cream and paid shipping. Two weeks later I am charged another $90. I called them to complain but was told I had to call within 2 weeks or I would be backcharged for the original sample. Nowhere on the website does it say that I had to call.

Apparently this company has several other "feeder" websites that sell the product but don't disclose the need to call them to cancel. When you call the number on the credit card charge you get the main company and they tell you that the need to call to cancel is on "their" website. But if you ordered from any of the multiple "feeder" websites it doesn't say that and the credit card company can't reverse the charge because it does say that on the "main" website for the company.

A total scam program to get around the requirement to notify you in advance for the need to cancel within two weeks. If you search for Core Skincare you will see multiple sites that sell the product without disclosing the need to call to cancel but they all are charged at the main company.

I saw a skin care concept through a Shark Tank article I clicked on the link and became intrigued as the product was the skin care breakthrough so it said rush my free trial so unknowingly I signed up for a monthly product distribution I authorized a payment for the trial on February 3rd for approximately $20.00 The products arrived I followed the instructions on usage found they did not fulfill the promise of younger looking skin and on Feb 17th and Feb 18th found charges to my credit card in the amount of $175.00 for the face cream and the eye cream

  • Feb 27, 2017

I ordered a sample bottle. Very vague on canceling or returns. They charged my credit card several times. I never received the additional bottles the charged me for. I called to cancel and they would not refund my account. This company is sleazy and a bunch of theives.

  • Feb 25, 2017

I consider myself to be a savy online shopper, but I could NOT find any notification stating I will be charged $90 in 14 days unless I call to cancell my membership. Nor could I find a phone number to call customer service in order to do so.

I placed the order on Feb. 10th. As I was checking out, I saw an advertisement for the eye cream. However, I didn't want it, so I clicked on 'finish checking out', which caused a purchase of the eye cream. I called the only phone number available who gave me a different phone number, who gave me the correct phone number. I have it written here.

Customer service offered to let me try the eye cream for just an additional $1.99 on top of the $5.99 for the shipping and handling of the face cream. I agreeed. I did not get an emailed confirmation.

On Feb 24, exactly 14 days later, I was charged $89. I called customer service who stated that I was notified about the 14 day free trial and the monthly charge for the face cream. She said when I called Customer Service before about droppingn the charges for the eye cream, she stopped the monthly shipping of it.

I asked her why the first rep did not mention a reoccuring monthly charge while I was on the phone last time. She stated she was not required to. She said it was on the website, it was NOT a box that needed to be checked, and it was not listed in the terms and conditions. It was only online "somewhere". I am a savy shopper, and I Never saw it.

Customer Service finally offered to refund 75% of the $90, but no more. She continually reminded me that it was on the website. She also stated that they win the majority of disputes because I agreed to the terms online.

Summary: the face cream does not live up to the hype, the website is designed to take your money without proper notification, customer service is very hard to find, and it's impossible to get a full refund.

Recommondation: Stay away from this product!

  • Feb 17, 2017

I ordered a free trial online & there was NO 14-day discaimer, they have no charged my account $175.00 for trial products!!! I called & the customer service was NO HELP! This place is defintiley a scam & I'm going to my bank to file a claim. GOOGLE everything online before you order ANYTHING! DO NOT ORDER THIS FOR PUT IN YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION OR THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY & they REFUSE to give you a refund.... my bank said htat is a red flag right there!! Any company that iss reputable will issue you a FULL REFUND if you are not satisfied with thier product! I even volunteered to return & they refused!

  • Feb 16, 2017

Core skin care offered a free trial to use their product and only charged shipping. It did not state anywhere on their website that I only had 14 days and then I would be charged 89 and 85. There is a huge misrepresentation and most companies allow returns if it's not working. The product broke out my face. They refused to refund the money and won't talk to me. I am sending info to my bank to dispute the charges.

  • Feb 8, 2017

Will offer free trial. However, if you don't call within the first 14 days, you will be charged $80 - $90 for the trial product you received. I was looking to be scammed this way and saw nothing to indicate this was going to happen.

  • Feb 7, 2017

I saw an ad on AOL news for a so-called amazing eye skin product with an offer of a free trial. I would only have to pay for shipping. I ordered this on December 26th 2016. On January 9th I saw a charge on my credit card for $89.97 for eye cream and $85.97 for skin cream, in addition to two shipping charges that were sightly more than what was stated in the online ad .

I had received both of these product trials but was shocked at the charges. I called the number on the credit card and the person to whom I spoke said that I would be able to cancel the automatic order because it was within 14 days of my order. I was relieved. However, today, February 6, 2017 I received a credit card bill and saw that the charges were on the card as of Jan. 10th.

I called the two customer service numbers they listed on the credit card and was told that I was not within their 14 day trial period because they count the day the oder was placed. They said the best that could be done was a 50% discount and I said OK to this reluctantly.

I have received a confirmation email that the refund should be credited to my account in 5 to 7 days. I will be closely checking on this refund, which should amount to $87.99.

Tne products did not do anything for my eyes or face, by the way!

I ordered a trial of 2 different lotions from Core Skincare which I only had to pay shipping & handling. I made sure that I did not sign up for auto ship as I have been tricked with this before. I received 2 phone calls that week trying to sell me more products (vitamin c serum for one). I said no I did not want it & they referenced a subscription & I said I didn't sign up for auto ship & wanted nothing more. I got the samples, they are fine (except I can't use one because of a gluten ingredient I didn't expect). Well, 2 months later I got an email that my next shipment is on its way. $91.94/each, cc charged. I called customer service right away to say I did not sign up for this & that I would send back the lotion & send back the products.

The customer service rep told me there was no way I did not sign up for auto ship because that is not possible when you order. She said when I checked the box that said I was over 18 years old I agreed to the terms. After pleading my case she offered me a 35% refund (of $183) & to cancel my subscription. I said I wanted to send back the products & get a full refund. She said not possible & there was nobody else I could speak with (like a manager) I said I would register a complaint & she told me if I did my refund would be charged back to my cc. Well, I got really upset after that threat & told her how slimy that is & she said she'd see what she can do, put me on hold while she spoke with her manager. She came back with a 50% refund which I agreed to but that is still a $91 charge to my cc for products I do not want at all. I guess it's the old bait & switch. I thought I was super careful but they got me.

I was reading E news regarding Brad Pit and Angelina Jolie's divorce. Toward the bottem of the articel it said Angelina is offering limited number of her beauty products for the reader of the website; all you have to do it pay for the shipping and handleing. Hurry while suppy last.

I click on the link and a pop up window opened for my credit card information and my shipping address. There was nowhere any mention about the terms and condition. After I placed an order, I got another offer for an eyecream for the same amoutn. I paid for shipping and handling again. and in a few days I recieved skin cream and the eye cream. Once again I say that I did not purchase that thourgh a website. It was just a pop up window. After 2 weeks, I notice my credit card is charged to 89 and 85 dollars. When I called them, they said you were supposed to cancel your trial within 14 days and it is mentioned on our website. i offered to send back the new- unopened products back and they refused it. I called several times and each time they hung up on me when I asked for refund.

at this point I filed a fraud claim with my bank and hope I can get my money back.

Site offers a "FREE SAMPLE" beauty aid skin cream for supposedly a shipping fee of $4.97, They then upon checkout throw up a couple of more "FREE OFFERS" for an addtional "shipping fee", etc., to which I declined all their offers excepting the skin cream with the shipping fee of $4.97. Well now, upon finalizing the transaction of the "FREE SAMPLE" skin cream for only $4.97... I find that the grand total somehow magically jumped to $45.91 and a listed "SHIPPING & HANDLING" fee of $10.94 is dangled on the end .. yet not added into the total billed my bank card.

  • Jan 17, 2017

This scam offers a free sample of skincare by paying shipping. Nowhere is there a disclaimer about further charges. They then turn around and charge your account for 180.00 without your authorization. When calling number on my bank statement, they answer without a company name and give you grief about a refund.....total scam!

I ordered the 10.00 trial, A few weeks later a new shipment came at 91.00 each bottle, 2 included. I called to return the product and they refused to give me a RMA as promised on the site. They told me they do not except returns. This is a large rip off to something that was suppose to be a trial on the skin care products.

Core Skincare offered their cream for $10.oo. I ordered the one for $10.00. About two weeks later I received an additional order (I did not ask for) . When I called the company I was told that each bottle of the order would be $91.00 (there were two bottles in the order. I offered to send it back, but they refused to accept that. This has to be a scam of some sort.
