This is a law firm of monsters, who falsify evidence, bribe guardians, take kick backs from litigants and sell children for cash to predatory parents. This is a law firm which will drag your case for years, until you give them your last shirt and you become homeless. Once you have nothing to give them, this law firm will settle your case against your wishes. Do they care about your children or your relationship with your children? Absolutely NOT. These lawyers are pure evil.
Attorney L. went down every “red herring” path the opposition took him (lending question to his relationship with the opposing attorney that so easily took him off track of the case). Attorney L. was silent; he made:
No claim to the verbal and emotional abuse complaint against the mother in a Maryland case.
No claim to the order by the Maryland Court that the mother have no contact with a minor child because of those claims.
Made no argument of the coercive and threatening texts from the mother to her daughter, I had been sending to L.
No claims to substantiate the daughter’s desire to live with me.
No argument about the claim by the guardian ad litem saying the mother’s mental state needs to be in question as to let her house get to a level of filth that she did before I filed the motion. Mental state is one of the statutes stipulations for best interest of the child.
No claim that CPS Social Worker Kelly T said, “if the daughter was younger, I would have said the house is unlivable, but she is at an age where she knows what is safe to put in her mouth or not” (Mr. L had a phone conversation with Ms. T but never indicated the scope of their conversation.
No objection that 10 days with the mother was damaging because she has a history of coercion and threats, employing family to try an coerce the daughter to stay with the mother (a history of texts confirming these tactics-which were never shown).
There were numerous other arguments my attorney could have made, but he said nothing; no objections. I told my fiancée that he acted like he might have taken some cold medication, he had absolutely no fight, no energy, and indicated no interest in being there. (it was the day before Thanksgiving and he left town to visit family for the weekend right after, while I had a sobbing daughter asking why my attorney was on her mother’s side-based on her mother’s claims before I picked my daughter up).
It was easier serving my country than it was to sit there and be humiliated by the court of Winn County. I had “cross-hairs” pointed right at me and the opposition and commissioner “daring me” to say anything. My daughter was, literally, ripped from my arms a second time.
The only recommendation L made was to have the parents communicate through some program; Family Wizard. Which was an additional $100.00 that I had to spend, in addition to the $12, 412.00 I paid Cordell Cordell with zero results. When I asked for a refund, or partial refund for their lack of representation, they simply claimed, "you will have to assume we have reached an impasse and good luck in your future endeavors."
My SISTER and her husband are going thru a divorce. I moved to Arizona in July 2017 and I absolutely had no intentions to "ruin" their marriage my sisters husband did this all himself. Everyone in our family knew her husband was a controlling abusive jerk. Fast forward to October 2017 and weird things were showing up on my computer, i.e dark web etc... didn't know why and I didn't accuse her husband and this is the only person it could have downloaded it on the device. 3. Who has the resources AND money to create such a disaster in someones life. Takes a lot of money to stalk, harass, terrorize someone and they know every move you make including having people follow you.
4. My neighbor got sugar in his tank because the grunts thought it was my car my sister has found BRAND new shiny screws set under her tire.
5. I called after destroying one of the last computers my sister and I had and I asked for the HEAD HACKER and the chic laughed at their "call center" in St Louis. I bet they don't screw many people in Missouri since this is where Joe Cordell claims to be his headquarters.

The attorney Heater Ogier showed up 5 minutes before court, forgot to enter documents then tried to say they were never sent back to them luckily there was email proof ... she then tried to blame the other parties lawyer for "looking in the wrong section" since our witnesses were never called even though it was there the entire time. Every time you have a problem they will tell you they don't have time or will have to get back with you since they have too many other cases. This place is a joke don't waste your money!

In the situation re: my son and his lack of representation we finally approached the judge presiding over the issues (in the judges chambers) and explained there wasnt any more money to dole out to these sharks. The judge was himself in disbelief regarding the actual out of pocket costs we had shelled out and explained to us available options to move forward.
The only comfort we found is knowing justice will come on their judgement day, when these folks have to stand before their higher power and justify their actions, or the lack there of.
I had a terrible experience with this law firm and specifically the counsel that represented me, Jane Robertson. She was desinterested and made me feel uncomfortable when I had a question about my case. Her attitude was almost condescending and rarely was she proactive in reaching out to me. I almost feel I could have a done a better job representing myself. At the end of my case I was able to set a montly payment agreement. To my surprise they are charging me a interest rate of about 20%. This was never explained to me. Now the are hounding me about my final balance and when I have asked for a itimized bill they will only send me current statement. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS FIRM. THEY ARE MONEY HUNGRY and based on my investigations, I am not the only dissatisfied customer.
Do not under any circumstances retain or even visit Cordell and Cordell.
They literally do not care about your case and do not actually represent you. I don't mean that they "don't represent you with diligence" or some qualification like that. I mean that they do almost nothing, work hard to make your case worse (because then it will take longer and cost more), and then bill you for it.
I made the mistake of visiting them with a legal question. They convinced me that I was a great legal risk and needed to retain them and move immediately. As soon as I put them on retainer, the legal brakes were applied. Very little was done in my case, but they racked up endless hours on "consultation" and "meetings" between the attorneys inside the firm (often billing me twice for the hours, since at each meeting at least two attorneys were present).
They also have mandatory weekly reports, etc. that they bill heavily for, even if the report basically says that nothing happened this week, and they will bill you heavily for each call that you make to them asking why nothing is happening and requesting that they get things done.
Just as importantly, they will miss or drag their feet on filings, and work hard to allow opposing counsel to make progress so as to tie the case up longer and make for more legal complexity—because the longer the case goes on, the longer they can bill. They'll look for hearing dates as far out into the future as possible becuase they're getting to bill you every week for their status reports and for your calls to them asking why they suck.
In short, they will totally destroy your case and your wallet, and if you try to terminate them, they will drag their feet on that as well, as it turns out that when you retain them you sign off on an extended termination process that includes more worthless reports that are billable.
I paid them five figures for virtually nothing, and became increasingly infuriated as they simply ignored my instructions and did the opposite of what I requested in many cases, without even consulting with me, putting me on the hook for more process and more billing. When I fired them, they basically refused to be fired, said that I'd signed off on this when I retained them, and continued to bill for no actual real work on my case at all—just thousands for more reports and meetings.
I hired a different attorney from another local firm who immediately went to work cleaning up the mess as Cordell sat on their hands still officially representing me as well (since they refused to be fired and wouldn't withdraw from representation legally). The new attorney got things done quickly and efficiently, repaired a lot of problems that Cordell appears to have worked hard to create, and in the end has billed me less for all of her hard work than Cordell and Cordell has over the same period—even though Cordell has done literally nothing new on the case and I am just in their "termination process" and the new attorney has been working her tail off night and day.
In short, think very long and hard before hiring this firm, and consult with multiple other attorneys first. My firm belief is that Cordell and Cordell have no strategy for your actual case, but a clear strategy for their revenue—get clients in the door with fear or unjustified enthusiasm, then make their cases as complicated as possible immediately with initial work and filings, then set all hearing dates way out in the future so that they can bill for their "standard weekly processes" without doing any actual work, for a long time.
They are expensive, and for me they were terrible representation that made matters much, much worse vis-a-vis my actual desires and case goals. I am toying with the idea of a legal malpractice suit.
