Auto kept hostage by intoxalock device. Stay away the recalibration pitch is not worth it.

I had an intoxalock ignition interlock device installed on my vehicle approx. 5 weeks ago. Several days ago my wifes car needed service, she did not wish to use my car with the device so she drove to car rental location to rent car for a couple of days. When we were returning the car , interlock would not accept breath sample for a reading.the device continually displayed "blow harder next time" for in excess of 15 samples. First call resulted in csr mellissa saying a new device will be sent out and mobile service will install, in 4 days! This occured on a friday, come tuesday a different csr helena states the notes in the computer are incomplete and installer has no mobile service available.the car is located in sketchy part of town in a unsecured parking lot for 4 days, i do not have use of the vehicle, am paying for a rental car.

This occurance is not due to tampering, bad battery, missed calibration nor a bac reading. It malfunctioned and denied the use of my vehicle for 4 day's. It is apparant intoxalock feels a court ordered device gives them the ability to ignore consumer complaints. There are many instances where this device installed on a vehicle in good working condtion can be dangerous. It appears that the following agencies should be made aware of the this companies hazadous product. Consumer products safety commission, nj department of motor vehicles, idrc, bbb

Government aproved scam

Sold my car .

Can't get the device removed!

Been jumping through hoops fulfilling the directions given by the company.

It's a vicious unending circle.

I no longer have a license, nor do I own the car.

The new owners can't remove the device or it will no longer start after tomorrow. And I have to ge the device recalibrate by midnight tomorrow by a service station at my expense and I can't drive nor do I have the car!

Talk aboutt Scams!
