Coleman Furniture Reviews

We ordered a 9 drawer dresser and 2 three drawer nightstands on 9/28/2023. We were told that after they were inspected by the delivery company they would schedule delivery. They arrived on 10/13/2023. 6 of the 9 dresser drawers did not operate properly and didn’t soft close as advertised. Two of the dresser drawers were damaged with crushed in corners and all were slightly misaligned. The nightstands were in the same condition and one drawer wouldn’t open more than halfway. After fiddling with all three pieces to no avail the "delivery team” called Coleman Customer Service and told them the problems. They told the rep we were returning the furniture. She said "fine.” When we called for a replacement or refund we were told "no” to a replacement, no to speaking with a manager and $1077.55 in cancellation fees. To them everything is a cancellation. They don’t recognize a return. Consumer protection laws cover damaged or defective merchandise and state that they must return all money paid within 10 day’s receiving the furniture back. They state that they have the "right” to repair and reship the furniture. They state that by agreeing to this reshipping you agree to accept the furniture as long as it meets their standards, not yours. In plain English if you allow them to ship it back to you and you don’t like the repair you are stuck with it. They are counting on you accepting it to avoid the restocking fees. Their Customer Service department is the worst I have ever seen. Clearly this is how they are trained as every conversation, every email is the same, part of a written script. I am a senior citizen so I have seen my share of customer service issues and even ran a merchant customer service department for 30 years. These people are like nothing I have ever seen. To add insult to injury the quality of the furniture is in my opinion very poor. If you are expecting high quality furniture for high $$$$$ don’t call this company. They have jerked around my husband and myself since October last year with no end in sight. Don’t fall for their advertising. Go see what you are buying or order from someone you can trust. If you have to order on line at least order from someone with a pattern of good customer service. The BBB website has a big red banner talking about this company. If I could give them a negative rating I would. This has been the worst online buying experience I could have imagined.

This sofa is of extremely poor quality. The sofa was delivered on 7/8/20. Within a month of very light use the cushions started to wear and became quite uncomfortable. When two people had the sofa in the reclined position, the sofa became very unstable with very little movement. The sofa would feel like it was going to tip. Upon inspection of the sofa from the underside, I could see that this was made in a very slipshod way and called Coleman to complain on August 5th. I was referred to Coaster and was transferred to several representatives that could not help me. After much run around, Coaster referred me back to Coleman in September.

I was only able to start a warranty claim with Coleman. Challenging the quality was not an option. Coleman Furniture falsely advertised that the company Coaster Furniture, is an American manufacturer. The sofa was manufactured in China. Also, the foam is advertised as being memory foam. Through my attempts to settle the above-stated issues with Coleman and Coaster Furniture it was stated that the memory foam is only in the seat. After inspection of the sofa and using it for a short time, I could see that description on the website is very sketchy. During my original discussion with Coleman Furniture when I was considering my purchase, I was assured that this sofa was of very high quality.

I was super excited about this purchase as it was going to allow my wife and myself to open up our one bedroom into a nursy and we would use this as a bed for ourselfs (I called Coleman before we bought it and verified we could use this regularly) I looked around and found this to be a decent couch/ sleeper and was willing to pay a little more than competitors because there was no tax and the shipping was included.

That said I have noticed issues first the men who came and delivered my couch wanted me to pay them extra to remove my old couch and looked to be drug addicts which bothered me allot considering Coleman said they were professionals but aside from that small aspect ill move on to the couch its self.

The couch at first seemed amazing and I loved sitting in it and seeping on it however within a two week time frame the couch started to sag anywhere i sat in it and I am using pillows to sit on in order to not feel like i am sinking into the couch. I have noticed also the staples holding the material are coming out! This is a serious health hazzerd to my current one year old daughter not to mention poor craftsmanship. The front part of the couch is cracked in two to three different places. The last thing about this couch that has really gotten to me is the sleeper angle of it, I was convinced to buy this because it said Memory foam but in all reality it is more like mattress padding with a hint of foam but what really gets to me is the coving layer on the mattress is moving and is already developing holes because of the couches frame. I have contacted the warranty department and I was told they would cal me back on Tuesday...its now Friday and no response, I even replied to the e-mail with the pictures and documentation they asked fore and I still haven't gotten a response back. I am sad to say I will be filling a report on the BBB and other review sites.

I ordered a cabinet online at their website and financed it through their finance company On their website Was told that it would take three weeks to get the furniture delivered So after three weeks went by I was told that they will deliver it on Friday On Friday I was told that they lost my furniture and couldn’t find it They told me they would need another week to find my furniture After a four week I called them they said they still couldn’t find it and to wait another week

So when I called and tried to cancel my order they gave me the runaround and refused to cancel it and told me that they are going to charge me a 15% restocking fee They had no intentions of ever delivering any furniture they were looking for the restocking fee do not buy from these guys is a scam

We were looking for an outdoor sectional. We found what we had been looking for on Coleman Furniture’s site. I placed an order June 24, 2020.

Received my confirmation email stating it’d be 7-8wks for delivery. I thought “ok fine! We are living in Covid, and they are located in New York.” Twelve days later (7/6/20) I get an update email stating 3-4 weeks for delivery. Getting closer!! Three days later (7/9/20) I get an update email with a manufacturer’s ship date of July 19, 2020. Eight days later (7/17/20) I get an update email stating 3-4 weeks until delivery, only now the manufacturer’s ship date was removed.

On Aug 9, 2020, I realize that I haven’t had any updates and emailed for an update. The response was that it was EXPECTED to ship this week, and I asked to cancel my order. The next morning (8/10/20) I get yet another update email stating 3-4 weeks and NO MANUFACTURER SHIP DATE!

I submit another request to cancel my order. They tell me that (suddenly and miraculously) it is scheduled to leave the manufacturer TODAY! I ask to still cancel my order. They tell me they will contact the manufacturer to see if a cancel is possible. I contact Coleman a few more times requesting to cancel my order. They tell me they don’t want to because they don’t want to charge me a 15% cancellation fee if the order has already shipped “which they suspect it has.” I, AGAIN, request to cancel my order and state that I understand there is a fee.

Three days later and my order is still not cancelled. I continue to go back and forth, and they continue to insist that the order is already ticketed to ship and cancelling would now cost round trip reimbursement AND 15% fee. I told them I wanted proof that the order is being prepared to ship, and they cannot provide me with that information.

Defects surfaced with a sofa purchased from (and covered under warranty with) Coleman Furniture.

Coleman advised us to donate defective sofa to charity and obtain/forward a donation receipt - of which was done - and Coleman Furniture would provide a replacement sofa.

I paid to have the replacement sofa shipped. Replacement sofa was received, but also found defective. Delivery was refused and Coleman was advised, along with video and photos of defects.

Coleman Furniture then agreed to repair and return the defective sofa, indicating parts were necessary for the repair.

After waiting for months (without a sofa), the replacement was NEVER DELIVERED. I then filed a dispute with my credit card for the replacement sofa's shipping charge, advising Coleman I would reauthorize the shipping charge once I received a delivery confirmation for the replacement sofa.

I never received a delivery confirmation. Coleman now indicates replacement sofa was destroyed and I am without the sofa I purchased.

Three months ago I ordered furniture from Coleman Furniture online. I still have not received my furniture. Tired of waiting, and out my money (they took my money easily), I asked for a refund. They said they charge a 15% restocking fee for refunds. In my case, it's hundreds of dollars. This is not right, due to the fact I have waited too long, and it's not my fault.

So my money is gone, my furniture is not here, and it's too bad, I will have to lose 15% if I want my money back. Seems like the perfect scam to me. Even if I do receive my furniture next week like they finally updated me (after I contacted them repeatedly), it is an excessively long wait and I am disappointed that I would be punished for their incompetance if I wanted my money back.

Even though Furniture was never deliver,Coleman Sill wanted to charge me restocking fee. Their finanancil company Affirm is still harrasing me to pay warrenty on furniture that was never delivered. I never received any money from Affirm, but they are telling me that they gave money to Coleman, and they want me to get the money back. They told me they are going to mess up my credit, if I don't pay them. I think Coleman Furniture and Affirm are working together to scam people.

If I could give them a zero star rating I would! When we ordered our hall server buffet piece during the checkout process it stated an ETA of 2 weeks. Other suppliers stated 10-days, but we went with Coleman for their pricing and reputation. Unfortunately 2 weeks went by no communication. After almost 3 weeks we get a notification that its with our local delivery partner.

Then we wait another few days for a call from them. They are in Chino and we are in San Diego. They said the soonest they can deliver would be another 20 days from contact. So now my ETA of 2 weeks went to 40 days or almost 6 weeks. Spoke with Connie, account manager, and there was nothing they could do about the shipper that they subcontract, regardless what their website stated.

I had explained we needed this piece to finish off our décor for TG party we had upcoming. That is why we purchased it on 10/17 to allow plenty of time past the 2 weeks in case of delay. So even with this misinformation, they still want to charge me a restocking fee of 15% to cover their shipping. If you can’t honor an ETA, don’t publish it on the order form prior to checkout and completion of the sale.

Next time I will just go to Overstock.com or another online retailer that operates their business truthfully (may cost a bit more) and honors their customer relationships. I will pass this on to the CC company to handle. Save your $$$ and time and google your piece and search for another retailer.

I ordered a $2562.00 Killamey brown sectional couch set on 4/28/18 from Coleman Furniture. Sectional was delivered on 6/15/18. The power chaise lounge was discovered as being defective (displaced foam, non-functional power headrest and abrasions and holes to the fabric). The displaced foam was immediately reported to Coleman's customer service via telephone, and the other problems were addressed immediately afterwards via email the following day. I asked for a replacement to be sent, and company will not address the damaged fabric or the non functional power headrest. I asked for a replacement to be sent from the very first moment I discovered the damaged chaise, and customer service told me to keep the damaged furniture and they would resolve the issue. A repair technician was sent out on 7/26/18 to repair the displaced cushion. After the repair was completed, the technician discovered that the wood supports inside the headrest are broken and the motor pin assembly was damaged and unplugged the unit for safety concerns.

I have contacted Coleman Furniture with pictures and numerous emails and they refuse to honor the warranty and fix the remaining damage to the power chaise or replace the chaise. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the person who responded lied and said the problem was solved. Who does this? Well, after reading other complaints, this company has done wrong to other folks as well. I also contacted the manufacturer and they said the store should be honoring the warranty at the retail level. Next step is the FTC and the attorney generals office, when all that I asked for from the beginning, was for a replacement. I will update this complaint if anything changes.

Ordered dining table and 6 chairs. They shipped the chairs without table indicating table had a split in the wood and would need to be re-ordered. Shipping company convinced us to accept the chairs indicating that if left in their control they could get damaged. what we didn't know is that waiting for the second delivery attempt on the table put the chairs outside the cancellation window. After all why would we be concerned about that, right? When they went to deliver the table the 2nd time around we had to reject the delivery because the table had visible damage. Unhappy with the whole experience we wanted to return the chairs and cancel the entire order. They won't let us return the entire order and cancel citing that we're outside the cancellation window. They also insist it's their right per the T&Cs to repair the damaged table. So we're stuck paying for new and getting refurbished furniture unless we want to cancel the table portion of the order and pay for shipping and a 25% restocking fee. What a bunch of SCAMMERS.

Over two months ago on February 25, I placed an order with Coleman Furniture for a living room set. I was told when I called it could potentially take up to 4 weeks before it was delivered. It's now been over 2 months and I still don't have the couches I paid over $2000 for. The sofa was damaged when it arrived at the shipping company. They tried delivering the loveseat, but that was also damaged, the motor didn't work, so they had to take it back to the warehouse. I was told they'd have the new leather by 4/28. I got an update yesterday, that it's still not going to ship for 1 or 2 more weeks. They were planning on repairing these couches in the warehouse and shipping me refurbished, patched couches that I paid for "new" So by the time the new leather ships, the new part for the broken motor, and they get a technician to the warehouse to patch and fix the couches, and then to delivery to me again, we're looking at easily another month or two, and that's not assuming there won't be future problems (their white glove delivery guys dropped the couch off the truck, shoved it in the door while scratching it, I have no confidence they'd be able to deliver anything without damage).

When they took the couch back out, he just ran a couple of loops of packing tape around it. No blankets, shrink wrap, or anything protective.

In total, we're looking at least a thirdof a year after Coleman took my money before I'd get the merchandise. And it could very well be 1/2 a year if the past repeats itself. Coleman furniture is not a very honest trustworthy merchant. I really have doubts that they are legitimate.

I opened a BBB complaint as well, and they blatenly lied on their response. They said I returned the couches that were delivered to me. They refunded me the cost of the couses minus shipping and a re-stocking fee. So right now, I'm out $446 for them to "restock" broken couches that I never received. These couches are sitting in a warehouse somewhere damaged. None of the damages were by me, but their disgraceful shipping and handling and now I have to pay them to restock and the shipping fees for something I never got.

I hope nobody else gets ripped off by this company. Do not buy from them.

I bought the tambo sectional from coleman furniture.

It is made by ashley furniture.

It ripped in 2 of the same places and the sectinoal is new.

This should not have occured.

The material is thin and defective.

I explained to Coleman furniture support FELICE, I would agree to buy

another sofa of equal or greater value but they have refused me and only want to repair the

issues.

The issues will keep coming back because the matieral is garbage and defective.

They want to take the cheap way out so they dont have to deal with taking a loss.

the cutomer has the right to be happy with purchase and if they are going to make things

cheaply then Coleman and ashly should stand by their products and what is good for the

paying customer and not what is good for the company.

This company is an absolute nightmare! from start to finish. The only thing they know how to do is take your money and charge you for thier constant mistakes and sheer stupidity.

Ordered a couch, told delivery would be 2-3 weeks. I am now 5 weeks in, and still no couch. the people who work here, especially Lori, will do nothing to remedy the situation, only tell you how much more they will charge you for their constant stupity.

On a thursday, i was told if i wanted to cancell my order there was a 25% restocking fee (ABSURD). Finally, Sophia went out of her way to set up a delivery for saturday. I was told i would recieve a call friday night with a four hour window, then saturday with a 2 hour window.

Of course no phone calls. The Driver (who barely speaks english) just shows up saturday morning with no warning. of course i wasnt home. An hour later , i called and asked if he can come back. He said, at 10:30am he was done for the day

Now, these people want to charge an $85 fee to re dilver. Cancelled the order, and still have not recieved my refund.
