We just rejoined MiniVacations Inc/Global Getaways/Grand Getaways for the third year -- $275 Paid to MiniVacations out of Tampa FL on 11/16/2005 Have booked trips in the past with good results. Just booked a mediterranean cruise (Holland America) through MiniVacations. Have paid downpayment, but rec'd no confirmation or further information. Getting runaround when we try to call. All our agents at MiniVacations no longer work there. Calling gets us to "Travel Club" and "Grand Getaways" but no one has any information on us. Holland America can give us no information since we booked through MiniVacations, other than we are on the roster for the mediterranean cruise.
I attended a seminar regarding a timeshare when I was promised a two-night stay in las vegas plus airfare. Grandgetaways never responded to one phone call and lost my certificate. I made copies before sending the certificate and resent it over 3 times w/ certified mail and I have the reciepts. They refuse to book my vacation or return my calls.
Beware this travel club scam! Once charged to your card you will not be refunded your money even if you don't use their services. They make offers of "deeply discounted travel" when their prices are actually higher than what you can find directly on the Internet. Brian Yamhure, one of the principals, has been working this scam for over 5 years. There have been exposes on the local tv networks. They stay in business because they continue to change names and addresses. There is a growing list of complaints with the state of Florida and local police departments but as soon as one office is closed down another one springs up. Beware - people have lost between 2,000 and 10,000 on this very professional scam.

When we tried to use their services it was a hassle and we were not able to get the trips that we wanted. We bought our passports took time off of work and still Coast to Coast did not have our reservations we did not get to go on out vacation.
